i would like to add that you do not use acetone but actually use alcohol to clean up the smile line because these are gel soak off so if you use acetone u can be breaking down the base coat that you already applied.
Phi Le i use acetone all the time. my customer's nails never get cheap. small amount acetone cant be strong enough to break down the gel undercoat. even some case it will but the top will cover it for sure. some people prefer to use acetone as it define the line sharper n quicker than alcohol.
With the color that you chose on the base of the nail, this looks more like an American manicure instead of the French one. You did a pretty good job I'm impressed.
I absolutely love it! I’ve been wearing white tips for a long time and I’m still loving it! It’s very classy! You did a great job! Thank you sooo much! I can wait to try! 🤍
Nice video. This is one thing I love about LED Gel Polish. Once I have a cured clear coat, I can do a quick swipe of acetone to wipe away accent colors (or perfect French White lines), without it having any effect on the gel coats below. I've done this many times, and the manicure lasted 3 weeks! It did not break down the underlying coats. It makes sense, since to remove a gel manicure, you have to buff through the surface of the final clear coat, and then SOAK in acetone for 10 or 15 minutes, to get that gel polish to budge.
Joanna R you do realize that there’s thousands of questions on all of her videos right? Not only that but this one has 22 likes so it’s not going to be too comment. Don’t assume negativity about someone.
@Barbie I'll try and say this in a nicer way since my last reply to you got deleted, even though it's seemingly okay for you to call me an idiot: please fk all the way off the planet. K thx bye 😉

Wow, your nails are so beautiful-lol, they almost looked french manicured when you didn't have any polish on yet. I bet people assume all the time that you have some kind of extensions on them.
Thanks soo much for telling us about using a alcohol wipe bc i sure was gonna try n find some expensive nail tech wipes for at home. This was very informative
when you clean up the smile line always use alcohol. acetone removes gel polish :) so it will start to break it down. the skin is fine to use is if you choose.
Are you feeling an unevenness when touching the finished nail with a french mani, considering that the free edge got two extra layers of gel and the rest of the nail doesn't?
Gel lasts longer it's also stronger and more shiny. Regular chips and doesn't last as long but is easier to apply.👍 (the application part is just my option)
No because the base is also gel. This was literally 7 years ago 💀 but if you're still here and replying to comments and stuff, it's just because the base was gel and already dryer I'm guessing.
Hello, I've been checking out ur blog and I LOVE it! I was wondering if u had an idea as to why there are two different looking gelish foundation base coat bottles. Ones says "foundation" on a purple line and the other says it on a gray line.. Like the foundation u used in this video. The one with the purple line seems to be more expensive than the one with the grey line. Plz get back to me. Thank u for sharing all ur great ideas and reviews ;)
I think they just updated their bottle design, but the foundation formula is probably the same. The newer ones have a grey line and a grey cap. The older bottles have a pink line.
Thank you so much! See, I thought the pink lined bottles were the newer ones because the price of the grey lined bottles are substantially lower. I just placed a few orders and am now waiting for everything to come in the mail! I'm beyond excited, I got the 18G LED light, 30 colors of Gelish, and the base & top coats for it. I got oth supplies as well... But I really wanna get into the gelish. I plan on checking out your blog and TH-cam to keep up. I think you do an amazing job. Maybe you could teach me some new things I might not know! Anyways, your time is very much appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon ;)
arlene aguinaldo that's perfectly normal and each coat will stay sticky (although I wouldn't recommend touching them in between). The top coat will be sticky too until you wipe it with an alcohol pad.
If you were to add a light pink shade, what order would you go? Foundation (cure) pink (cure) white tip (cure) and top coat (cure)? Or would you do the pink after the white? I hope that makes sense! I want to do a french manicure but my nail plates tend to be slightly blue in colour.
Isaiahxy27 I would just get some rubbing alcohol (in a bottle) and put some on a cotton pad, it works just the same. You can find rubbing alcohol for a dollar at Walmart or usually a dollar store
Have you ever had an issue with what appears to be the top coat yellowing the tips of your franch manicure? I keep having it happen and cant get answers as to why. Thank you!
for french when you do not want it to be clear and you would like a light color (kind of transparent white or pink) for base color , before you do the tips what color of gelish would you suggest??
You have beautiful nails! I have a question - can I apply a coat or 2 of the gelish structure gel before applying the foundation? My natural nails are very thin...
I love your natural nails! Gorgeous shape and they look super healthy too
French manicure always looks classy and goes with every occasion.

True! It's much better to use alcohol as it won't affect the polish underneath.

Just for future reference the lower the number the coarser the grit so the 100 is not the more fine, the 180 is
You have beautiful nails and nail shape.

Looks great! I'm going to try this 😀
Bonjour! Merci pour ce vidéo! Québec, Canada ici! 💅🏼👍☺️
That really depends on your preference. There are lots of sheer neutral colors that would work with a French mani.
Andrea B How do you get your nails so long? Please tell me how.

You have beautiful nails!
Love these videos, very helpful. IM looking for a really good gel basecoat that won't soak off, any advice? UK only

Yeah, that's a good idea!
You have Beautiful nails the shape is perfect, love French manicures. Thanks for the vid now I want to try out gelish nail polish.
You did a great job! Your nails are beautiful☆
Cute I should try that with my gel polish set once I grow my nails longer and get white gel nail polish
Nails are beautiful! I want mines like that what do I do
How your nails so clean? Please give tips on how to keep nails clean like yours
Excellent tutorial....just wow....
Perfect nails. Great tutorial.
Perfectttt!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 i want this right now😫
does the gelish polish you used hardens the nails. if not would you know one that does. btw love your nails
Beautiful! I would've thought that going in with acetone to correct the smile line would mess with the base coat but I guess I was wrong!
You have nice nails. So you don't have to wipe off the tacky layer off before you apply the polish? Thanks!
Looks so good 😍
They look amazing!
how do you give maintenance to your hands? they look extremely healthy!
Are you feeling an unevenness when touching the finished nail with a french mani, considering that the free edge got two extra layers of gel and the rest of the nail doesn't?
Not really. The two coats of white are thin and the top coat self-levels. If you experience unevenness you can apply a second layer of top coat.

At 1:12 you can really see the difference between her hand and nail.
May you list off all the products you used including the UV or LED light?
you crazy
Very pretty!
Do they last long? I use sally hansen and it chips after a day
What's the difference between the gel nail polish and the regular nail polish? And your nails look great!
Gel lasts longer it's also stronger and more shiny. Regular chips and doesn't last as long but is easier to apply.👍 (the application part is just my option)
Enjoy the video good job, quick and easy which I like lol Thank you very much for sharing!!! Liz...
Great tutorial! Quickly done! Thank u
I have done a lot of gel polish, but never a French manicure. Doesn't the foundation get ruined when you clean the line with acetone? Thanks!
No because the base is also gel. This was literally 7 years ago 💀 but if you're still here and replying to comments and stuff, it's just because the base was gel and already dryer I'm guessing.

They gray bottles are knock offs that's why they are cheaper, and easier for non-licensed professionals to get. ☺
What does foundation gel do ???
where did you get the wipes? they seems much easier safer and more efficient than from the bottle!
I get them at the drug store
They can be found in most pharmacies or drug store because normally that is for sanitizing/sterilizing
Ong hui min okay thank you!
What exactly does buffing your nails mean??
I love your natural nails :) so beautiful ! i want it.
Like this video :)
Great tutorial 🥰💖
Nice work 💪💪💪
I've tried this with a uv light but i think i screwed it up as after the curing the foundation, it was sticky. Is that normal?
arlene aguinaldo that's perfectly normal and each coat will stay sticky (although I wouldn't recommend touching them in between). The top coat will be sticky too until you wipe it with an alcohol pad.
Where did u get the gelish nail Polish
Hi! Question can I use any LED lamp to cure the Gelish nail polish?
yes omg I watched that tutorial right before this video
Meghan Beck I did get your comment....sorry.
If you were to add a light pink shade, what order would you go? Foundation (cure) pink (cure) white tip (cure) and top coat (cure)? Or would you do the pink after the white? I hope that makes sense! I want to do a french manicure but my nail plates tend to be slightly blue in colour.
Very pretty 👍💖
If you cant get an alcohol wipe whats an alternate thing to use
Isaiahxy27 I would just get some rubbing alcohol (in a bottle) and put some on a cotton pad, it works just the same. You can find rubbing alcohol for a dollar at Walmart or usually a dollar store
Have you ever had an issue with what appears to be the top coat yellowing the tips of your franch manicure? I keep having it happen and cant get answers as to why. Thank you!
How can I use the foundation gel without the machine because I don't have the machine
very nice on her finger nails 💅💪
for french when you do not want it to be clear and you would like a light color (kind of transparent white or pink) for base color , before you do the tips what color of gelish would you suggest??
acetone... I reacted badly to it and lost a nail... its too harsh for those with sensitive cuticles and skin
You have beautiful nails! I have a question - can I apply a coat or 2 of the gelish structure gel before applying the foundation? My natural nails are very thin...
Please tell me nail polish names please tell me??????
Where did you get that awesome ring?
I don't remember... I think on Etsy.
Will it work if you use the gel coat and then just regular nail polish for the tip or does it have to be gel as well?
She makes it look so easy! Lol
😍😍😍😍shume te bukur thonjte
Does the gelish make your nails hard like acrylic?
How do you keep your square nails so long? I use a garlic base but they always break in the edges!, your nails are beautiful!
The 100 grit side is not the finer side, it's the more coarse side. 180 is almost twice as fine as 100.
she already corrected herself in the video.
