My derm has switched me to Aklief and for a good 6 weeks it made my skin so much worse - thousands of blocked pores, pustules and super dry and peeling (even after mixing with moisturiser and only using 1x per week.). In the end I experimented and found putting on moisturiser then waiting for an hour, then appling a pea size amount of Aklief (mixed with more moisturiser) 3 times per week started to get me results. My skin is still super dry and peeling but the blocked pores and pustules are much less now and if I continue on the same trajectory, my face should be clear in another 4 weeks or so. I use Retin-A to keep my acne at bay and for anti-aging. I wonder if this new product, being a retinoid, will also have similar effects for anti-aging?
My derm told me this is now the strongest retinoid on the market which is why it's dosed at such a low dose, because of how potent it is. I've used Retin-A for 13 years and recently made the switch to Trifarotene to try it out and I can say I've seen such an improvement in the overall quality of the skin compared to retin-a, Differin and Tazorac. It is strong though, but it's very easy to apply, feels nice and comes in a pump. A+
Yeah dermatologists lol. The prescription made my skin really dry and it made it really itchy. I have started using birth control to help clear my skin not only that, I started drinking water and I try to eat healthy as well. I try not to stress out either.
I’ve been on Aklief for about a month now. So far, so good! I can feel my smooth skin coming through 😊!! It’s wayyy less abrasive than trentnoin (I was on Bianca for about a week and it was so intense)
My dermatologist just prescribed AKLIEF to me along with Clindamycin and onexton and I have been using it for 3 days now and already I’m seeing amazing results . Very costly though because most insurance doesn’t cover it.
Tazorac was my lord and savior years ago. I dead ass applied it every night for at least 3 years, well past my acne disappearing. I now take nothing (which I never thought posible), but I owe it all to tazorac.
I've been using Aklief for 6 weeks now, at only 2x per week while weaning off my already low accutane treatment (20mg 2x a week) and i can say this product is amazing, I can't do more than 3 nights because then my skin does get sensitized, but at 2x per week, I started seeing results in the second week. I have seen a huge improvement in my overall skin texture and laxity, and I just love it. I have seb derm, rosacea and perioral dermatitis and while I had used retinoids before, not without this little to none irritation. I have even already gone through the retinization period!
Today is my first day trying this product. I have really bad form of acne since 6 years now. I cant live with it anymore, i hope it will help me. Also nice Video !
Hey Cassandra, have you looked into studies which found that Vit B 5 significantly reduced acne in participants after 12 weeks? I would really love a video by you on that topic because I am currently trying it and would love to better understand the science behind it.
basically it controls ur oil production and it thins our ur oil from ur face so its harder to get clogged, either it helps you extremely or it does nothing, i take 5 pills a day and it was amazing for me
I was on Accutane back in the day and it helped a lot. Minus the side effects and mild scars leftover. I am happy with my skin for the most part, but as I have gotten older I have noticed my scars a little more, mild/occasional acne, and mild aging skin. I started Aklief and Clindamyacin topical a few months ago and already notice a difference. Looking forward to seeing more improvements. Adapalene/5% was originally prescribed with Aklief, but I can't afford both so that's why my Dermatologist decided on Aklief and Clindamyacin topical. I never noticed any binging from the medications thank goodness.
Hello! It has smoothed my skin out some, but it can take several months to see a big difference. We will have to wait and see. I think it took a few months to see some change. Patience is definitely key.
I’ve been on Aklief for perhaps a month for back acne that began materializing as severe boils while I am PMSing within the past year (thanks acne it had been 10 years of my face being relatively clear, but you had to creep back up on me). I had been using amzeeq nightly since the end of February (with minimal results) and as of the last for weeks have integrated aklief (every other night and applied prior to amzeeq) and it has really made a huge improvement. It’s an awesome medication for anyone who is sensitive (I am severely sensitive) and dealing with body acne. Prior to this I was put on arazlo which I do not recommend.
On week 1, no peeling or dryness. A little breakout on my chin (old pimples finally came to surface). My cheek pores look smoother. Less oily during the day. So far so good. I’m also on spironolactone.

ML L had my derm take me off of this and i would honestly not recommend it for anyone with any acne, i never breakout on my forehead and now i’m back on epiduo forte and antibiotics to try to combat the deep cystic acne this encouraged
Was just prescribed this today. I am the first patient my derm has prescribed it to. She explained this exact science to me and what was even more incredible was that my insurance paid for it. It does not pay for tretinoin.
i've been on aknelief for a month. i need to say it didn't helped me at all :/ i just had more breakouts, it was kinda shitty for me :D but of course every skin is different!!
I have light acne breakouts and never had cystic acne. I went to the dermatologist for the first time (I’m 24) and she actually prescribed me this. It has been 3 days and my skin is almost clear. So we will see if it is the cream working it’s magic or just me being lucky.
I was struggling with acne for about 3 years, I am now acne free on my face but it's still on my back. My face cleared up when I forgot my face wash at home and I was staying at my mums. The next day when I woke up I had no pimples and my skin was glowing, then after 7 weeks my skin cleared completely, I'm now trying to get rid of scars. I only wash your face with water, if you're wearing makeup, remove it with Garnier Micellar water then wash your face with water, hope this helps someone, if you dont believe me, type only wash my face with water on youtube and you'll see so many other that its worked for.
Differin made me break out in cystic acne for 4 months and made my skin worse than before and duac made my face swell and itch and go bright red, I’ve done accutane which made a significant amount of my hair fall out but now I’m clear but if all fails I shall try this😆
My hair fell out too! I'v been off accutane since April 2018 and I'm still losing hair, my Dr. said I have telogen effluvium but accutane has been out of my system a long enough time where the TE should've stopped by now, don't know what to do :(

I originally only put it on my forehead, which was the main area I got acne and purged for weeks. Then I realized I should probably use it on my jaw/cheeks (even though I would rarely get pimples there). I've been on it for almost three months and my forehead is so much clearer. My jaw and cheek area is still breaking out, but I feel like its almost done purging. I would definitely recommend this, just be consistent! It's been nice being able to purge during quarantine so I don't have to go many places.

Cassandra, have you tried it yet? Either way, how do you feel about this medication now since this video is a year old. My derm just prescribed it to me.
Every time i go back to my doctor he prescribe me deffirin ,he told me that my acne is not that bad and i suffer from hyperpigmentation more than acne itself which is true because I can't stop touching my face, last time he told me to stop popping my pimples and my problem will he solved Hhhh, the thing is I want accutane because I believe it will stop the breakouts for good , now I'm confused should i just keep using deffirin or should I start accutane because my dermatologist said he will prescribe me accutane next time i go back
Please do a video on skincare products that are allowed in pregnancy, aha or bha products are not recommended, is it true and what can someone use instead 😣 for scares or acne treatment
I am so lucky I finally grew out of my severe acne for the most part. I started breaking out at age 12 with severe breakouts all the time until I was 16 when I saw a dermatologist for the first time and was prescribed minocycline and Epiduo. I used that until I was about 19 and I was able to come off it. My hormones finally calmed down enough to where my face isn’t constantly broken out. I only really break out around the few days of my period and it resolves quickly. As long as I take care of my skin (with my basic routine and as needed acne treatments) I can go the rest of the month with 2-5 pimples total. Those years were rough for me.
I got prescribed Aklief & it was working fine until it didn’t. Idk what I’m doing wrong but I’m having breakouts again & my skin is all inflamed. Since then I’ve stopped using aklief.

i love that she's talking based on experience not just by studies so that her patients or viewers can relate whoever is suffering with acne.
I use Retin-A to keep my acne at bay and for anti-aging. I wonder if this new product, being a retinoid, will also have similar effects for anti-aging?
It is a lot stronger in term of anti aging.
@@concisekrevin3802 which one Retin A or trifarotene?
My derm told me this is now the strongest retinoid on the market which is why it's dosed at such a low dose, because of how potent it is. I've used Retin-A for 13 years and recently made the switch to Trifarotene to try it out and I can say I've seen such an improvement in the overall quality of the skin compared to retin-a, Differin and Tazorac. It is strong though, but it's very easy to apply, feels nice and comes in a pump. A+
@@thelittleglazeddonut im using retin-a. and clindmycin phospate, i just start4ed this month.
My dermatologist prescribed me Aklief for my wrinkles (I asked for Retin-A), but this is what I was recommended.
Where did you buy it?How much does it cost?
I was prescribed by a dermatologist. I think it was about $200 without insurance.
@@Belabee123 Wow, I didn't know it cost that much... my dermatologist prescribed me Aklief and with my insurance I just have to pay $36. phewwww... :D
And it was prescribed for fine lines, not acne... so will see!
Question, do you use a full pump? Did you use a full pump at first?
My dermatologist just prescribed AKLIEF to me along with Clindamycin and onexton and I have been using it for 3 days now and already I’m seeing amazing results . Very costly though because most insurance doesn’t cover it.
Did you start off the Aklief every night or every other night ?
30 dollars in Sweden, what’s wrong with America
In germany it’s 5,70€ with prescription 😅
Wtf how is it around $200 CAD without insurance 😩
I’ve been breaking out like crazy recently and idk why. Thanks for this video!
Tazorac was my lord and savior years ago. I dead ass applied it every night for at least 3 years, well past my acne disappearing.
I now take nothing (which I never thought posible), but I owe it all to tazorac.
I use Aklief for Keratosis Pilaris and the shit is a miracle. Benefits are a must. Even in canada this stuff is more expensive than gold.
It's very cheap in India
@@Adithyaa2000 lucky! A small bottle is 250 here without insurance. I pay 25.
@@o3MTA3o insurance? For this lol! For this it only costs 22dollars in india
Your eyes are beautiful !! Thanks for the info ! I got this prescribed today. Let’s see how it goes !
Today is my first day trying this product. I have really bad form of acne since 6 years now. I cant live with it anymore, i hope it will help me. Also nice Video !
Please let me know if it worked?
How did it went?
Any improvement??
Hey Cassandra, have you looked into studies which found that Vit B 5 significantly reduced acne in participants after 12 weeks? I would really love a video by you on that topic because I am currently trying it and would love to better understand the science behind it.
Tahlia Hanna-Martinez is that Panthotenic Acid?
Eric Martin yes and it works btw
Tahlia Hanna-Martinez I took like 20 pills daily, years ago for cystic acne but it did nothing.
Eric Martin really? I take 4.5 grams in 3 doses daily and after one month it completely cleared my face up...
basically it controls ur oil production and it thins our ur oil from ur face so its harder to get clogged, either it helps you extremely or it does nothing, i take 5 pills a day and it was amazing for me
I was on Accutane back in the day and it helped a lot.
Did the Aklief help with your scars? How long until you saw a difference? Xxx
Hello! It has smoothed my skin out some, but it can take several months to see a big difference. We will have to wait and see. I think it took a few months to see some change. Patience is definitely key.
@@natashak3387 Thank you so much! 💖
@@mina8290, no problem at all. Are you using Aklief? If so, for what skin issues if you don't mind me asking? I am using it for multiple reasons.
Please note: amzeeq is pretty cool too it is a topical low grade tetracycline suspended in coconuts oil!
On week 1, no peeling or dryness. A little breakout on my chin (old pimples finally came to surface). My cheek pores look smoother. Less oily during the day. So far so good. I’m also on spironolactone.
How is your skin about 2 months out ? I was also prescribed that with spironolactone.. should be starting next week.. I am getting bad hormonal acne now….
@@SaffyKaffy hi! It’s been like almost a year since I’ve started spiro. My skin is 100% clear. I did go through a mini purge. And sometimes get like 1 or 2 depending on if I have a lot dairy, etc. but works wonders.

I was just prescribed this at the derm today! It was quite pricey, but I am still hyped!
How much was it?
Any updatesss? Just got it today
I just started this yesterday and I’m glad to see a video about it!
Aklief?How is is going?
How’s it working for you?

My doctor just prescribed me this 3 days ago! Hoping for results for my 2 year post accutane flair up.
Victoria Damico I’m about to start using it today! What’s your experience been like so far?
Hi ! I’d also like to know how’s it going ? I got it prescribed today :)
Hi there! So I am enjoying it so far. My acne is extremely hormonal so I am trying to get my hormones in balance in addition to using this. So in combination it is working great! I do not use it ever night any more my skin got raw. I use it every other night and if my face starts feeling sensitive I back off for a day or two. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Marium Rana hey how has this prescription been for you. Since you made this comment two months ago?
May Bae update on this product. I am currently on it now
Yaaas 😍 it's Awesome to See someone getting excitited for Something Awesome 😍
i’ve been on this medication for a month and can’t find anyone who’s on it to look to for symptoms or results at all! if you see this and you’ve used/ are using aklief please lmk!
Been using a small sample from dermatologist, it's only been a week, not sure how long till I see a difference. Hope it's been helping and you can see and feel an improvement!
I’ve been on it for a few weeks not and it’s been drying , somewhat irritating. Clears small blemishes but doesn’t help my cystic acne too much
May Bae had the exact same reaction! glad to hear its not just me but i’m sorry that my dermatologist (+ everyone) has marketed this as a miracle drug when it isnt very helpful
Started using this a few days ago. Has your skin improved since your last comment?
ML L had my derm take me off of this and i would honestly not recommend it for anyone with any acne, i never breakout on my forehead and now i’m back on epiduo forte and antibiotics to try to combat the deep cystic acne this encouraged
Best makeup ever.
Cassandra thanks for your informative video ~ Also, you look stunning 😍
Holy cow girl you are so knowledgeable and informed! Thank you for sharing, I learned so much in just one video!
Was just prescribed this today. I am the first patient my derm has prescribed it to. She explained this exact science to me and what was even more incredible was that my insurance paid for it. It does not pay for tretinoin.

Can you please do this makeup tutorial, I want to do this makeup in my convocation??
I was struggling with acne for about 3 years, I am now acne free on my face but it's still on my back. My face cleared up when I forgot my face wash at home and I was staying at my mums. The next day when I woke up I had no pimples and my skin was glowing, then after 7 weeks my skin cleared completely, I'm now trying to get rid of scars. I only wash your face with water, if you're wearing makeup, remove it with Garnier Micellar water then wash your face with water, hope this helps someone, if you dont believe me, type only wash my face with water on youtube and you'll see so many other that its worked for.
*Aklief: A New Hope*
was just prescribed Aklief, feeling hopeful for some results with my chest acne
Update?
Differin made me break out in cystic acne for 4 months and made my skin worse than before and duac made my face swell and itch and go bright red, I’ve done accutane which made a significant amount of my hair fall out but now I’m clear but if all fails I shall try this😆
My hair fell out too! I'v been off accutane since April 2018 and I'm still losing hair, my Dr. said I have telogen effluvium but accutane has been out of my system a long enough time where the TE should've stopped by now, don't know what to do :(
JLPE I’ve also had hair loss for about a year and then I saw new hair growing back you really have to be patient and wait I literally had the sides of my head nearly bald ahha
Just went to the dermatologist today and am about to use aklief for the first time!
Have you seen any results yet?
@@jaz7642 I was put on this back in june (and aczone for in the morning). (I'm 16 yrs) I've tried a lower dosage of aczone and doxycycline and neither really worked.I have definitely seen a difference in my skin, but the purging period felt like forever.

Is being told to wash your face with dishsoap a universal experience for people with acne?!

Can you please make one video with your skincare routine in one week? please. I also have acne... Thank you
