  • If you saw my last video with the Axial SMT10, I bashed it around a bit to find any remaining weak points or things I wanted to change. I found a few, mostly in the suspension, so I decided to completely overhaul the SMT10s suspension. Proline powerstroke shocks, Incision links, 3d printed parts, this was almost an entire rebuild of the truck. Stay tuned for some running footage with the new setup soon!!
    Hope you Enjoy the Video!!

    Man it would be awesome if you could do a detailed video just on your swaybar set up I am new to this truck and figuring out how to mount them in different locations is really stumping me

    Great looking truck! The SMT10 is one my favorite RC’s to tinker with. On your rear sway bar, is there enough play in the holes to have the sway bar pass through a tube that would then slide through the mounting plate of the wheelie bar? If that made any sense

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, I'd have to look at that. It's not a tight fit right now, but it's not super loose either, some kinda tubing might work well.

    Thank you Thank You THANK YOU for this video all my struggles and hard decision making was just solved with this one video. Did you mention where you got the sway bars from? Don't think I ever saw them go threw a wheely bar before. Looks great! Do you sell those from sway bar brackets by chance?

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The sway bars and the wheelie bar are from RH designs. I don't sell the front bracket and don't really have plans to just yet but I think I remember seeing another one online somewhere

      @@FullThrottleRC ok thanks!! Think I'll place a order now. I've seen the other front bracket your referring to. I'll try to track it down again. Thanks a gain! So glad to see other links like the Crawford ones. I'm so tired of breaking the rod ends. Sometimes they break just running threw the yard without even jumping.

  • @LawrenceTimme

    Wow this smt10 getting expensive now. Might as well go for it though. Buy cheap, buy twice! Those proline shocks look super nice, but I agree for the price they should come with some optional pistons.
    Mine has steel links with revo rod ends and they do break rod ends every now and then still. Not as easily as my ssd trailing arm rod ends on the previous setup though.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The SMT10, while expensive to get to this point, is still my all time favorite rc. Like anything else, it's easy to splurge and never stop when upgrading. I think getting this truck to its best is worth it just because of how much I love the truck.

  • @stevie123p
    @stevie123p 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’d like to know where you got all the parts I’d like to know a price on what you roughly spent to upgrade and a list of parts would be awesome. I was kind of in the same place not sure what to do first and the best thanks for the video great job

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got everything from AmainHobbies. Not sure exactly how much I spent on the suspension but I'd guess around $120-150. I used Proline Powerstrokes shocks and the Pro-Spec rear spring set, and the Incision links set for the SMT10

  • @shaynestone4209
    @shaynestone4209 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I see you’re using a button head screw for the swaybar arms.Did you tap a larger hole or did you have a screw that fit?Those soft grub screws are too soft soft lol

      I was able to find a screw that fit the same thread. I had to cut it down because it was way too long.

    and how do you bring the suspension back up so tell me if i put this springs on the truck will sit lower ????

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are multiple suspension mounting options and setups for the SMT10. You can move the upper shock mounting position or add preload to your shocks to easily raise the ride height if you like

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    are you using all proline 6308-22 shock all around from the video look like it ?????

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    hello full throttle i bought pro line power stroke rear springs and used the the blue springs and i put them on the xt shocks and put 30 wt oil all round and it will not re bound at all what do think is the problem is i filed your direction could you please help me

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Without actually having your truck in front of me it's pretty hard to say. If you built your shocks just like mine as you say and have them mounted in the same locations as mine then the only thing that could cause it to react differently in my opinion would be binding in the suspension components somewhere. I'd recommend taking apart your suspension and cleaning all of the moving parts, making sure all joints move freely and easily that way the suspension can work.

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    i how much shorter from stock springs from the blue ones are they noticeable ?????

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Roughly 1/4" shorter. I haven't had any issues with them

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    no have know binding but i am not sure i am useing the right oil 30 wt ????

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the oil I use. If you have no binding anywhere then I'm not sure what the issue could be on your truck. You can always adjust the preload on the springs and see if that gets it to rebound like you'd like.

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    so ran black spring with yellow on top and and the red springs on the bottom ????

    ???? i have put the shock on the axles and fill shocks with 30 wt oil all round and put the blue springs all round but i did not drill two holes in the piston but the rear shocks do not rebound like i l it what happens if put the green or yellow springs on it ?????

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure if the green or yellow springs are stiffer than the blue ones. If they are, try it out, it sounds like you need a stiffer spring or more preload

  • @PhoenixRCCrawler
    @PhoenixRCCrawler 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    👍🏽🐒🇺🇸

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    what if i use 10 wt oil will that be better for rebound

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not necessarily. The oil is to help dampen the shock action under compression. And while it does also dampen or slow down the rebound, the springs are what makes the shock rebound. If you want faster or more rebound, add some preload or use stiffer springs.

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    i was told that truck will sit lower is that true ???? will it make difference

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can make the truck sit 1/4" lower depending on how your suspension is set up. But there are many adjustments you can make to the suspension to bring the ride height back up

  • @gravediggerrc
    @gravediggerrc ปีที่แล้ว

    HELLO THERE ARE YOU USEING PRO6308-22 REAR ???? OR USEING PRO 6308-21 FRONT ???? DO YOU SEE A DIFFERNCE IN THE STOCKS FROM STOCK TO THE PROLINE SHOCKS ????? USEING THE YELLOW ON TOP AND BLUE ON THE BOTTOM

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I run the rear proline springs, 6308-22. The fronts would be too short. And yes I felt like the ProSpec shocks on the bottom was more of the feel I wanted.
