      @@FullThrottleRC looks sick man. Do you know if anyone makes a 3d printable 1/25 amt mt wheel? I have tires i want to use cuz they are softer rubber but the id of the backs of the tires are bigger. Or if I got you the measurements is there a way you could make a modified version of the wheel you made for the 1/25 amt mt tires?

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sofghost6663 I'm sure if I had a set of those tires I could modify the wheel to fit it. I've seen some pictures online while doing some research of a few people converting the AMT to rc so they have to have something to use for wheels I'd imagine.

    • @sofghost6663
      @sofghost6663 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FullThrottleRC yea this one guy on a rc group im in on Facebook does them but idk if he would give me the file. He has been hard to get ahold of. But the wheel you made would probably work if the 3d model was modified to where the back of the wheel is 35.5mm and the front of the wheel is 28.5 and the width of the wheel is 43mm but the width of the wheel would prob be around 36mm cuz it is recessed in. If I was good at 3d modeling I would make my own but I suck at it lol

    You can soften up those tires by treating them with WD40 a couple times a week until they are the desired softness

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good idea. Not sure if I want them any softer though. I mostly run it on carpet and the traction is perfect.

    • @FullThrottleRC

    I don’t have a printer... are the second option full wheel on Shapeways?

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I never put anything on Shapeways cause I started to put the wheels on and just the four wheels would cost something like $50. The price to build it would be outrageous if Shapeways printed all the parts.

    Spray rubber tires with wd40 and put in ziplock overnight and then just work the tire. Squish it every 5cm or so. Pull smash and twist. It will break down the fibers and soften up the tire. If you want that.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I actually like the stiffness of the rubber. It eliminates the need for foams and it actually let's the truck slide around very similarly to the full size trucks on loose dirt.

    So close and yet so far away. So this chassis are for "those" 24th scale trucks... ok. Wonder how much tweaking the file would take to make a true scale chassis for all of us model builders out there. None the less this hobby has been needing this for a couple decades now, kudos.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This chassis is definitely a little ways away from being super scale. The goal was to make it easy to print but look similar to a scale chassis. I definitely agree, I wish a big company would've taken on something like this already!

    • @ONEFUNFONE
      @ONEFUNFONE 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FullThrottleRC you know you'll need some sway bars on this truck eventually, those diecast bodies aren't light by any means. Be interesting to see how this little guy works in the long run.

      I am working on a more true to scale chassis. Look up thing:4678571 on thingiverse.

    • @FullThrottleRC
      @FullThrottleRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shoptech4500 Definitely looks cool and very scale looking. The main reason I went with the flat plate design was ease of printing on FDM printers. An FDM printer could print the tube chassis, but its a lot harder to get the strength and quality finish. Your design looks awesome though!👍

    • @shoptech4500
      @shoptech4500 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FullThrottleRC Thanks! Your design will certainly be more durable and easier to make than mine. When designing mine, a scale look was at the top of the list. I was actually surprised at how well the print came out. I was planning on making a brass tube frame but I think I am going to stay with the 3D print.
