For a dachshund owner I can confirm this to be 100% true!
I noticed that our dachshund Tonks was limping a bit, and I suspected that she was bumping her back foot against the bedframe when she jumped on the bed. So one night before she could jump I picked her up and put her on the bed. While Tonks will still jump on the bed if I'm not around, she clearly now believes that if I'm in the room I should put her on the bed. And she will stand there and give me periodic shrill barks until I do it. Even if it's 3am.

My miniature dachshund is EXACTLY this! Every morning after going outside, he has to cuddle with me on the couch while I'm having coffee and catching up on news. He is all 10 ways at ruling the house, he owns me😜

You have a good one with that is behaved well. I have had 4 dachshunds. Had to train them as 3 of them were major barkers and 2 of them liked to dig in the yard.
