    It's interesting to see what others recommend. I went though this process internally when taking a community outfit to the Nexus outfit wars. We tried to recommend builds for our newer players which focused on streamlining game play as much as possible.
    We had them rolling flak armour and occular shield implant to minimize the impact of grenades of all types, then told them to run safeguard because we planned on running a lot of heavy/medic, and safeguard does somewhat compensate for how much newer players are going to be dying. We told them to run C4 instead of med kit because the plan was for them to always be close to a medic.

      Solo builds and squad-based builds are different in almost every slot except weapons.

      Medikits are one of the best examples of this. They are one of the most important things to buy by *far* for new players. But a well coördinated squad makes it completely irrelevant. Allowing you to carry more specialised equipment

    Huh, I didn't know that anti-air lock-on rocket launchers are now the default ones.
    Regarding 2:08, I would add that NS Annihilator locks on to both air and ground targets (like it always has).

    So many abilities, weapons, implants could be made useful just with tweaks to values/numbers. The understanding of what's meta and what isn't sets yet another rift between veterans and noobs who unknowingly spec into garbage and proceed to get bodied by already more knowledgeable and experienced sweats with a fully developed build.

    • @ZealousVidya
      @ZealousVidya  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm BR27 on my alt and already have two level 4 implants of what I'll probably use forever, plus Flak 4 which is all you need and two 'meta' fully certed guns for medic/heavy.

      @@ZealousVidya Which implants would those be? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sensor Shield, which is arguably the most useful implant in the game, is not a common type. Neither is Assimilate. There is lots of RNG involved, so while you might not have had any problems with rolling the one you like, others might not be so lucky.
      Not only that, people waste their certs on stuff that is extremely niche all the time. Guides like these are definitely useful to the community, but you know what would be even better? Skills, weapons, suit slots and implants that actually aren't something you could automatically dismiss as barely useful compared to alternatives.

    Good Guns for NC Heavy Assault: Gauss SAW, EM6, Anchor, GD-22S, EM1 and MGR-L1 Promise (aka Laser Canon for Close and Mid-Range fights (at long range is a bit Meehh)).
    For me personally: EM6 is the most universal LMG with very manageable recoil (If you are using compensator and forward grip), with Ok RMP, Good damage over range. and a Big 100 round mag which can be expanded to 200 if you like.

    I generaly like and agree with your vids, but when it comes to Resist Shield I clearly disagree with your stance towards it. Resist Shield is very much worth going into and can perform extremely well given the right situation and the right playstyle.
    Most people I see complaining and hating Resist Shield try to use it exactly like Adrenaline Shield only to get confused and mad why it´s not acting like one. It´s the same situation as with most other things in the game, if you play extremely aggressively Advanced Shield Capacitor might be better than Flak Armor for you, if you are bombarded with grenades at a choke point however the latter usualy keeps you alive longer.
    That being said the only argument against Resist Shield you usualy state, the ClientSide argument, becomes pretty much void if you simply adjust your playstyle. ClientSide or not, due to the nature of Resist Shield not giving you straight up more health like Adrenaline Shield or Nanomesh, but effective health based on the actual health you have at the beginning of an encounter multiplied by the resistance it gives you makes it unsuited to activate it mid combat. You always want to have it active before you get shot.
    Now I know you would respond to this stating that half of the time you don´t know where and when you get shot from, but that as well depends on the situation. If I run over a relatively open field of course I can be less certain where I might get attacked from than if I sit in a tunnel at a massive choke point.
    Especialy in situations like the latter Resist Shield peforms way better than the other two in my opinion, since Adrenaline and Nanomesh quickly drop in effectiveness as they take damage AND are very vulnerable to chip damage from grenade spam or random bullets for example, which you won´t be able to dodge in bigger fights.
    Furthermore you have the added bonus of taking less damage from grenades in the first place and being immunte to bolter one shots due to the Resistance applying to all damage types AND not only your body but your head as well.
    I don´t mean this in an ill way, but I think what you say about Resist Shield is very misleading especialy towards new players who have no idea what "clientside" even means. Explain why you dislike it properly at least. Like everything you can´t use it in every situation, but in the right ones it´s a beast not to miss out.

    • @ZealousVidya
      @ZealousVidya  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't every video go over all the reasons Resist is garbage and players should never use it.
      Mentioning client side is simple to understand without having to go into the many other issues with it.
      I'll make a definitive video on resist for next month.

    • @nox2903
      @nox2903 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZealousVidya I am looking forward to that video, I am genuinly curious. I can only speak for myself, but I started using Resist rather recently compared to the multiple years i was running Adrenaline and Nanomesh and I absolutely love the thing. I can see why some people dislike it requires a bit more thinking and game sense than pressing F when you get shot, but it certainly is far from trash.

    • @nox2903
      @nox2903 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ZealousVidya Also, as I already mentioned I don´t see clientside as an issue for Resist. It´s not like you get a multiple second delay from the clientside issue, we are talking about milliseconds here. That may make a difference mid fire fight, but if you activate it before engaging or running into a room like you should do with Resist anyway, that few 100 ms wont matter. Also, if you use implants like Nanomesh Specialist in a situation where you dont have to run a lot, like fights at choke points, you can pretty much keep it up all the time nullifying the whole client side point alltogether.
      As i said it depens on the situation,
      But for me the crucial point is maintaining the Adrenaline Shield or Resist Shield. You only have 2 options, waiting for the refill over time or killing enemies if you run Adrenaline. For Adrenaline you would need 3-4 kills to fill it, but all of the waiting and/or the kills would have to be done without taking damage since that would lower if not remove the shields energy again.
      Correct me if I´m wrong but new players and even medium skilled players are certainly not capable of doing that.

      @petrpinc7695 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was soft-nerfed by reducing minimal damage distance.
      Anyway, SAW is still a great weapon, but it is an unforgiving dominatrix that will punish you, when you happen to miss a shot, by not controling her recoil properly.

    "This isn't Splinter Cell" That one got me LOL
    I always forget they made the AA launchers the default. I use that launcher most of the time now myself. I hate air to ground and I can dumbfire for everything else. For specific situations I'll use the Lancer or Decimator.
    If you are a new player and find the Orion hard to control, I would recommend trying the NS15 or the MAW. Those are both great LMGs. The Pulsar is easy to use and can do extended mags, but it takes longer to kill.

    i like how in your first topic youre already objectively wrong. who in the f willingly uses nmg? people use resist on jaeger and its the best shield in any form of team play with revives. and even solo, some people are using resist after all the adrenaline nerfs.
    just overall, this guide is awful and its a shame new players see this and take it to heart.

    • @ZealousVidya
      @ZealousVidya  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this guide is for casuals and NMG is twice as fast regen, for a lot of players which are not getting headshots much and won't be using assimilate, NMG is arguably better.
      Resist is garbage on live, sure on jaeger I'm sure it's okay with carapace(because you revive on full HP unless it's from rez nade) but frankly that's just not worth the trade off on live even slightly and if you disagree frankly you are misinformed.
