    I've found the different attachments fit different factions in different ways. VS tends to have insanely low vertical recoil with rather high horizontal recoil-this makes the angled grip useless, but also allows short barrel to be used far more often, with regular grips and laser being common too.TR seems to be a 'middle child' sporting both vertical and horizontal recoils, so they tend to prefer grips and heavy barrels to counter their high fire rates, but also 'can' run compensators, short barrels or laser. NC tends to have the most vertical recoil and the least horizontal, making angled foregrip and compensators more common, but their horrible hipfire makes short barrel pretty useless.

    Comp vs Heavy Barrel - I'd argue both are about same value though. While it's not hard to counteract constant vertical recoil, it is harder to counteract first shot recoil (FSR) and if you've trained yourself to maintain bloom, you run into FSR often enough that compensator helps with bullet grouping.

      Definitely noticed this on NC weapons. I think partly it's down to muscle memory, i could probably adjust to a heavy barrel, but as you say, it's about the same value in "quality of life" improvement to weapon handling, so why bother with the effort of adjusting to a side-grade.

    I think that the gun that gets the most out of the angled forward grip would be the ns11 ar since it has a 3x fsm and is already a laser.

      The NSO 3x burst AR that auto bursts. Turns it into an auto laser pointer. Other than that, Gauss saw benifits soooo much. Meas your first seconed and third shot should be on target.

    The Reaper DMR is my favorite weapon in the NC arsenal second only to the godsaw, and I give it both forward grip and compensator. Recently been playing around with sabot rounds and while I love using it in choke points, the reduced firing rate has probably cost me a few 1v1s.

    Try combining Gauss SAW S with compensator, angled grip, HVA and a 3.4x or 4x optic. It becomes quite a scary supportive head hunter.
    Which actually brings one point into my mind. Compensator and Angled grip are those that yes tend to do benefit newer players, but don't just shelve them after your skills grow over them.
    Maginification increases the distance your screen travels and makes vertical recoil worse. With improved skills and still running those, you can increase your effective engagement ranges greatly as you are able to use greater magnification if you want to.
    This is especially an option for guns that support HVA.

All around I am not proficient at shooters, but felt I was performing lower than I should because of my lack of testing different combinations of weapons and attachments.     The em6 gets a decent buff from the angled forward grip. I’ve always had trouble with accuracy in wide open fields with NC lmgs (excluding 50 mags) the angled grip yanks that recoil back down after a burst and keeps me on the same general fire lane over vast distances

    i like the Attachments, ive been running the AF-6 more than i should, but its a really fun and quite strong weapon, even for someone with the Aim of a Potato.
    Also clearly the all time NC classic with the Gauss Saw.

      What Cami just told us is that you don't need to have the laser on and it still works. I mean you get the 30% benefit even if it's not on.

    I tap fire with a NC Tross & Angled grip, with a x6 scope and turn an Assault rifle into a Scout Rifle with a large magazine, and smoke targets at very large ranges when assaulting a base to make sure we can capture the outdoors. 👍 Works pretty well
    I'm sure that there are even better weapons for it, but as a new player it is my first weapon & loadout that leads to very consistent Survival and 10+ kill bonuses.

    Swapping the compensator for a heavy barrel on my H1C cougar had made it really nice not gonna lie, but Ive never used the angled forward grip though

    Going to be honest NCs Disruptor and Sabot ammo and VS's unstable and Lashing ammo need to be on as many guns as TR's KCAP ammo is. I know most of the time they are a niche use but lashing ammo on the Corvus and Lacerta are so much fun, and having sabot ammo on something like the promise would actually make it useful.
    To me it should be a question of which guns do not have these unique ammo types, and not which ones do

    The ACX-11 on the NC as a 200 damage model weapon with a Lazer sight and a short barrel is just absurdly good. I'm 90% sure that's what I'm running. 😍

      Personally, I still prefer suppressor - comes really handy, when you go for some infil hunting, or just flanking too deep.

    Found MSW-R with angled grip a very nice option, gun has huge first shot multiplier kick, toning that down makes it easier to contoll in mid range since I burst that gun a lot.
    On opposite side I found Lynx with short barrel and forward grip to be my new favorite carabine, short barrel replaces laser sight to some extend and forward grip makes Lynx absolute laser beam, add very small bloom of 0.45 per shot and you can hold down trigger longer than any other carabine dishing damage at ranges that compete with assault rifles while still retaining hipfire potential.

    Compensator + Laser sight is just the best combo on any gun with not too much horizontal recoil for me. The hipfire drawback gets more than cancelled out and the recoil reduction is so strong that it honestly almost feels too much on some weapons. It basically makes the angled grip obsolete. The only time i would choose another attachment is the forward grip with guns like the Anchor/MSW-R etc. because it does reduce the recoil angle and reduces the randomness. You can test that by shooting a whole mag and see where your crosshair ends up with and without the foregrip.

    I restarted playing sfter like 5(or more) years. I can't believe still no other game can achieve what PS2 does. And certs seem to be much easier to gain now?
    And damn this game has sustained time incredibly well.

    The thing that have been grinded my gears since day one of me playing Ps2, is that there is (almost) no upside of running a stock weapon. The attachments aren't exactly trades, most of the time, they're just massive buffs. Compared to BF3 that I have been playing quite a bit, a lot of weapons did just fine without any attachments, and some really didn't need any to be at 95% of their peak capacity. Ps2 doesn't really have that.

      PS2 is free to play, which means it introduces more grinding for free players. In this case, attachments are implemented more as a progression system, giving players more reason to grind for certs while premium users with membership get less grinding by passively getting more certs.

    Angled forward grip is nice on Bull/Rhino with a high scope, as they tend to kick your aim off with that first shot multiplier.

    Been liking the new comp, heavy barrel is kinda useful when defending, but the reduced movement speed kills in sweaty HA fights so I barely use it

    Vanu players should strongly consider the Angled Grip since VS is not allowed to have any benefits without the devs immediately slapping on a drawback to counter said benefit.
    VS weapons are supposed to be accurate and usually they are, but they are also usually punished for that accuracy with a higher First Shot Multiplier than the other faction equivalents which makes the seemingly low recoil of the gun kick harder than the SAW with its 2nd shot. Cutting that drawback down by 60% can make a BIG difference for the first 2-5 shots accuracy since its hard to counter the FSM with normal recoil handling as it literally goes: first shot accurate -> second shot kicks hard -> 3rd shot and onward use the normal recoil so the FSM is a big component of almost all VS weapons accuracy in terms of where your initial burst will hit.

    Well if TORQ-9 both patterns have same amount of shots then attachment clearly does not descrease vertical recoil by 30%. It doesnt matter if recoil is high or low. There should be 30% less rise in any case. Basically whole spray pattern with comp should be 30% smaller in vertical component then the one without comp. As we can see here 30% less vertical recoil is not there. Sooo...

      TORQ-9 is one of the most underrated ARs in the game. With Comp + Forward Grip & Impact Ammo, it is a better watchman in practically every way with zero damage drop off.

      @@LiquidToast42 I personally go with Compensator when I use it so the accuracy can be further perfected. But with only 34 rounds (via Impact Ammo), it might not offer much of a benefit.

      Both patterns were not the same quantity of shots I believe. The TORQ-9 has a tiny vertical kick per shot, ergo the small impact per shot makes for a smaller visual impact (keep in mind the bloom over the burst) also makes an impact on perceived recoil.

    This is probably a dumb request and don't know if you will see this but I don't fully understand the numbers on the weapons that talk about hipfire, crouch accuracy and all those other things. They are just numbers to me and I just have no reference. Is there anyway you could make a guide or video explaining that stuff? Perhaps you have but I have missed it. It is the most user unfriendly aspect of weapon statistics and I think it would be a great guide for new players. I appreciate you going over actual numbers in this video and I think an expanded video would be great.

    An attachment that counters all those wanna-be predators on a constant level would be cool, since it's impossible to walk anywhere without stumbling over some cloaker every 5 meters during prime time.

    I actually found that leaning into horizontal recoil on some weapons with heavy bias actually worked better sometimes. Hear me out.
    Usually for a weapon with a heavy angle like the Anchor or MSW-R, you'd build vert grip + barrel of choice, that way you minimize the downside of the horizontal recoil, right? But you still have to control a little bit in conjunction with the vertical.
    Now, if you throw an AFG and a comp on there, the recoil becomes predominantly angular, with maybe a little less vertical, so that the recoil pattern makes about a 30-35 deg angle from the origin point (you still kind of have the mixed recoil problem from before, but it feels a bit more evenly matched personally).
    I found the latter setup to sometimes be a little easier to control (although I still think the former is probably a bit more consistent so I run that instead). It sounds nonsensical, but give it a try in VR and decide if you'd like to try it on live. If nothing else, it's just another fun build like 6x HVA Gauss SAW

      That’s not exactly how the AFG works however, adding the AFG expands the intensity of recoil shake and the variation of how far that recoil can expand from the center point of your burst. It doesn’t create an angle necessarily, just creates inconsistencies. Just figured I’d clear that up.

    I only run laser and short barrel on all guns if possible.
    Recoil is incredibly easy to manage on ps4

    All I know is that the Butcher feels godlike now with the Heavy Barrel and I think the Angled Forward Grip if my memory is correct with what I've been running on it.

    I like the dark light because even though it is 90% useless. Most infils seem to run and hide which I like because I hate fighting SMG infils almost as much as banshee.

    as a VS, really struggling to find any reason to use the angled foregrip on any weapon. Like you said, horizontal recoil is the most important thing. 2000+ hrs in this game and 1700 hrs in Warzone have taught me that. One foregrip attachment reduces it, the other increases it. the conversation starts and ends there.

    I like PS2 I still play from time to time. Even with attachments the guns and bullet hit detection has never felt right compared to any other shooter I’ve play. And it’s not that I don’t how to burst or single fire or have bad aim it’s just the way the game is built. I’m a 4.7 KD and have been playing since launch and would love to see all automatic weapons be able to fires at full speeds and be accurate :(

    weird seeing TR getting kills.. usually they are the killed and i main tr too lol. Feels like our guns do nothing.. I got really peed off once and went over to VS for a few hours on a different character and i was getting kills.. I dunno how that works.. Like tr your just like, hit marker, hit marker, hit marker, hit marker.. soon point im gonna run out of ammo and he kills you.. like i dunno its been forever since i played but ii was using the standard gun moved over to the one with the side ways ammo clip hanging out felt a bit better or at least changed the luck slightly.. i just run a forward grip and a 1x or 2x depending what im feeling.. Just pull down a bit nothing to it lol

    The recoil comparisons have a discrepancy in number of shots fired. Kind of misleading as I find counting the shots tell a different story then what is being presented.

    I've been hoseing using a laser sight a lot since 2012, then recently added short barrel, I blame the serpent originally lol.
    Will get the heavy though and try some new shit out, since playing Hell Let Loose my aim, player score and Kd got better it seems... 🤣👍

    godsaw has access to all new(and old) attachments including angled grip and compensator, which turns it into 200dmg laser beam but TR butcher cant have a single forward grip (like carv). DISGUSTING!

    COF bloom is just a bad game mechanic and should only apply to specific weapons. No matter how good your aim is, your cof will always screw you.

      Disagree. Aim is still just as important, you just have to burst accordingly to be rewarded.

      @@CAMIKAZE78 The problem (especially for TR guns) is that there are two random aspects to the recoil - CoF and horizontal recoil. It's often even more effective to just use the single fire mode on some wepons

    New player to Planetside! Still having trouble with the UserOptions.ini. I put higher FOV for example and no changes to FOV occur! 😅😅😅 Love the content though. Ever since I started watching some vids about Planetside, I've been watching you mostly! 😎👌

      Right click the file and set it as "read only" - otherwise the game will override your settings

      @@TotallyNotAFox , yea, I've done that, it overrides it still. Like the FOV seems to be hard coded to stay in the margin of what the game had intended, because I have no changes, when setting as read only and putting it on 100 or something just to see a difference.
