Truly pathetic that this is reality in the. US. Thank you for sharing and bringing this to people's attention. Why do we have unlimited funds for other countries but none for our citizens?
Most homeless people are there by choice. They choose to live on land others pay for and destroy the environment with litter and unsanitary body waste everywhere. That’s the largest part of them not seeing animals.
People don't realize that they are a couple paychecks away from being homeless.. it can take an accident, a loved one who provides dying or a loss of a full time job.. unfortunately the people judging the homeless are the problem.. not everyone who is homeless is a druggie or mentally ill. Thank you for what you do.. ❤
I have always said I'm 1 payday away from being homeless one accident one anything and I would have been. The only thing I find difficult is the filthiness of some of the camps , you can be poor and live right . Good luck to all that need the help 🕊️🌷🤍
Good work! Most county social services departments have a child protective services division. Sometimes they do more harm than good but not always. Helping the homeless takes a lot of us who care.
Some people feel if they put there life into something like a home and its taken away through no fault of there own one more time , they don't wanta end up hurting someone .. sometimes its better to not have alot invested into a home , its a eisier loss ..
I respect your for this. I really took your words to heart the other day when you were buying the homeless people a meal that got harassed and you said you didn't have it in you to eat and look out the windows at someone hungry and not buy them a meal. ❤
Thank you for helping! I have a suggestion: perhaps take trash bags and haul off their trash. If the areas are neat and tidy maybe they will get less resistance
This video is toned down, the horrors we saw inside this camp off camera is disturbing. Elderly people, disabled and disfigured people and of course those who are too young to be here. Its upsetting and downright disgusting to see the conditions of the people here. 😢
Hurricane Ian devastated Charlotte county, Lee County and Southern Sarasota County almost two years ago with damage still visible. There are a few gas stations that haven’t had their damage canopies replaced and people are still living in campers in drive ways and canopies still on roofs. The flooding and damage was like nothing else seen and many poor people were pushed out of their homes and if they could, were even pushed out of the state due to the cost of living and the hurricane. I worked for a nonprofit and they claimed to hire case managers to connect citizens to resources but no money I seen was given. The head of the nonprofit’s and local government look the other way when they see homeless people. It’s pitiful.
I live in port Charlotte, I knew there was homeless buy didn't realize the camps were this big 😢. The fact we let children and our veterans sleep on the ground sickens me .
Waters are really the biggest thing to help the homeless. My children and I have been homeless for the last 3 years almost. Thank God My parents own there property but at the moment we have no power or running water due to our home of 35 years burnt down and we can't get anything turn on till we have a new home put here. But that is amazing of you to bring the homeless water 💯❤️ I pray to get back into a home. I never in my Life thought I'd be homeless! God bless you 🙏
I'm so sorry to hear this. Besides waters, what is the next things people can do to help? If you would make what you feel is a good priority list for people to know? Also, are you in this same area?
Yes other things that come in handy are baby wipes, paper plates, plastic forks and spoons, batteries and battery operated lights, bug spray. Water is the biggest thing I would say tho. I have lived in Pasco FL My whole life. My parents bought their home in 1987 but we live on the east side in Wesley Chapel. I don't like the West side it's so dirty and lots of junkie people there. But to be honest everyday more people come to this side of the county because it's starting to build up. We actually have a good handful of homeless camps here. It's actually ridiculous that this government can't do something for our state! It's way too expensive to even live anymore.
Hello Jose, thank you for your documentaries of how the middle class people are now trying to survive. I am third generation Naples Florida resident and I now (disabled/retired) & live in a minivan I am making payments on. The list gor housing has been "full" since before my grandson was born-he graduated this year. Still sleeping at a friend's house while his Momma works 2 & 3 jobs to stay alive. She lived in a jeep until a friend offered a room. The government has taken ALL of my dignity & reason to live. May God have mercy
Tarp setup: 2 + tarps Link together with window tape (construction product) Space a 1" gap between tarps then use the window tape on both sides. The 1" gap allows the window tape strips to adhere/stick to each other. I did this with 3 tarps and had an awesome camping setup. I could raise and lower the sides
Thank you for visiting the camp. The 61 yr old man is amazing, kind hearted and intelligent. Perhaps on your next visit you could bring him a new 50gal garbage can for water collection. And a gal bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide.
With the amount of perfectly good food that goes to waste on a daily basis from every major grocery store in America, I would say the majority of homeless could be fed by this. Quite a bit of it is donated to local churches for handouts, which is great, but so much of it goes directly into the trash, and the means, and the funding do not exist to transport these provisions to the needy. We only get volunteers, and people like yourself that go the extra mile to help. There is a huge gap between these 2 worlds that lack the proper connections, which you continue to find out more about, and learning of these dire situations that people are in. I'm amazed at the resiliency of some of these folks living out in the elements, and give you a ton of praise, for helping out like you do, Jose! If everyone does at least a little something for the less fortunate, it can make a difference.
@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Yeah, some stores have the sealed dumpsters that have no outside opening. The expired meat and produce and fruit and packaged goods that get wasted and thrown into them is outrageous. Nobody can get to those products from the outside.
Charlotte County Schools Free breakfast/lunch/aftercare programs makes the kids throw away so much that they don't drink or eat - we are not allowed to save anything even if unopened like milks and cereal. However they want to charge staff $5 for lunch. I was told it was a Charlotte County Food and Nutrition who makes this rule. Awful that employees can't take anything, we can't donate it anywhere. Just wasted food.
I lived in Punta Gorda 1974-1976. Husband and I built Pelican Harbor Mobile Home Park off Riverside Dr. On Peace River. Was not much in Punta Gorda back then ! I was only 20 years old. I don’t remember too many homeless in that area at that time ! What a tragedy ! Hope this situation can be taken care of !!!!!! I was at Pinellas Hope shelter and Safe Harbor in Pinellas Co in 2023. These shelters were Horrid , in my opinion! These shelters, employees abuse the homeless 24/7 !!! And, they will kick people out at anytime, not give a homeless person anytime to pack up and then have to sit outside shelter with belongings in bags!!! Yes, a lot needs to be done to help human beings!!!!!
The county and federal government could at least provide a small shed with shelving for people to donate food drop off and garbage pickup for them. That would be a start. That would help it be more sanitary. Possibly a few portipottys . Maybe desinate a location for them be for work so people could pick them up for jobs such as yard work a handyman jobs house cleaning etc.
those are practical and affordable ideas... two things the government wont do.. in fact some of the things you mentioned are even illegal by the governments.. go figure
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I know our government would rather send our tax money to foreign nations that hate us. The illegals crossing the boarder gets luxury hotels debt cards. free food medical and free transportation. Our own homeless gets nothing. Keep exposing it. Thank you for what you do. Maybe if enough people see this and call our representatives it will force them to do something.
We stock the self serve pantries outside churches for folks can get food without having to be there when the church's indoor pantry is open. I put Xtra food on my grocery list every month. People deserve to eat!
With as many vacant houses, apartments, mobile home parks around this country there should be no homeless people. The banks don't care. They are the ones that own these vacant places. Get with the homeless and let them do work on these places to make them liveable. Once they have a place they can live, then they will have a address and be able to get work. Make the rent cheap enough that they can afford it once they move in. Rent is ridiculously high. I am 69 and on disability. The money I do get barely pays my bills. If my rent was to go up I would have to live in the woods. The homeless people with children should be the top priority to get housing for immediately!
Most of those people are homeless by choice. At 69 I would assume you had something majorly catastrophic happen or you have done very poor planning since you became an adult at 18 years old for your golden years and retirement. Planning is essential for a long comfortable life.
This happens all over the world And the government waste money They steal the monies To fatten themselves This is unacceptable And it happens all over the world Peace to everyone
I moved to the panhandle a few years ago and we were supposed to be buying a house but it turned out to be a dump so we got the deposit back. We had our 4 cats and we were not prepared for extended camping. We had about 5k and we camped at campgrounds for about a month and a half while working. The state park campgrounds were always booked so we had to move around to different locations a lot. Also it was around $30 a day so we still paid $900 a month to live in a tent. We finally found an apartment in Defuniak Springs 20 miles inland, and far from our jobs . I did not realize but we were paying $850 a month and 80% of the apartment residents were on section 8 free housing. At night they would come out and rap and sell drugs. Finally we got a place in Niceville and loved the area but it was a cruddy apartment. I can see how people end up as homeless but why do the cities or state not build very affordable safe campgrounds with bathrooms and laundry for people going through a rough time. The cost would not be too high and they should be all around in needy parts of the state. They could hire the residents to maintain things. I mean our government spent 160 billion helping Ukraine and that helps zero American citizens.
Thx for doing what you do bro. It’s so cool. Idk why no one else has thought of this. Something about homeless camps that is intriguing. I wanna roll out there with you someday
well, I remember telling you of this. Thank you for showing up with some level of support and understanding to help. I see the camps everyplace. Its because as you can see you can dip off in the woods to camp anyplace.
I can't believe this gentleman is homeless. I'm sitting here listening to him talk. He's got common sense. He has brains. Seems very intellegend. A lot better human being than some of my wealthy neighbors, I'll tell you that.
In Brooksville Fl. there is an abandoned development of single homes. It sickens me that people have to live like this when there are are places just sitting there waiting to be occupied.
Jose I admire the work you're doing. Going out of your way to help people in a bad situation. Plus trying to bring awareness to everyone else of the growing problem. Hopefully that family with kids get the help they need. Along with all the other homeless people. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Jose’ they told my mom there was no waiting list 4 years ago. They lie there butts off unfortunately and help who they want! It’s a shame. I’m over the tracks I been trying to get my mom a place cause they give her the run around. Glad you’re doing this! ❤
Always told my kids,, don't judge, laugh, joke about anyone on the corner.....they turned out be very generous, kind, young adults.. yet here I am. Homeless... Gave my life to raise them and here I am with nothing.. nope I'm not on drugs or booze.... Life really does suck right now...
Jose, I would suggest you going to the Charlotte Homeless Coalition, 1476 Kenesaw st. Port Charlotte, not the city of Punta Gorda. We in Punta Gorda as a whole community do so very much for the folks in need . We step up to help support the homeless, the hungry the children the Veterans and the elderly. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos informing people about the struggles of homeless people. Please direct your criticism to the correct agency or organization.
Great video! I have heard that the homelessness is real bad in the Gainesville fl area also. I’m not homeless this is my home. Thanks for your generosity! 😊
I have had a thought for the homeless. A person buy some land for them, they can camp and plant food for themselves. I think that might help. I do think we need to reopen asylum's for the mentally ill and that the drug addicted need special help so this would be for the ones that don't have these problems. Plus the elderly are losing their homes because they can't afford their property tax etc. its so sad. Laws need to change to protect the elderly from losing their homes they paid for years to own.
I had the same thought of buying a plot of land for them. Zone it for a camp site, build community bathrooms, and maybe an outdoor kitchen. Get the guy from a different camp in Port Charlotte to run it. (I dont recall his name, but I think his wife is Elaine. He has responsibilities for everyone & a clean, organized camp.)
@@maxmanx1294The humans that run the government will work you to death going through hoops to get approval and then you’ll have to get insurance in case anyone gets hurt, etc. Then a business license every year, and an accountant for tax over site where you must keep every receipt, etc and file every year.
Great video!!! Very nice of u for all your care and love!!! I'm not homeless but still have a tarp for a roof of Ian and we weekly never know If we will even be able to keep our home! So thank u for all your doing!
You're an Angel; Thank you for all your hard work. Praying for you as you keep trying and help! Also, for more compassion and a solution to this homeless epidemic in the United States. This is undeniably the worst and most shameful. The leaders of America are doing this to our own people for their own profit with no care as they pretend to be blind and pass the buck of being responsible.
You have such a big heart. Bless you! ❤ it shows that you hurt for the homeless and you want to help them. I pray that you don’t get your heart hurt and stop 🙏
Thank you for everything you are doing to not only help them, but you are also advocating for them in multiple ways, especially sharing this video. Unfortunately, our despicable governor has refused federal government assistance for those less fortunate souls. He has turned away millions of dollars that could benefit these individuals. Why? B/C he caters to the wealthy, and they all turn away from this humanitarian crisis. Many people have resorted to living in vehicles as well. It truly breaks my heart to see a veteran living in the woods. He seems happy enough, but it’s not right. No veteran should be homeless. No child should either.
First I want to say I thank you guys for going out and helping and getting to know people that are out there but always remember they are out there by their own choice yes there are some that are out there that does not get the help that they need and they're just trying to keep their family safe and not be separated even though there might be a waiting list I'm sure the parents are afraid that the state will come in and take their children and that's not what they want they'd rather be together in that struggle there is a positive way to this bringing it to attention to authorities and then there could be a downside to this their children can be taken from them yes no child should live in any kind of condition but on the other side the families are trying to keep the children together to not lose them thanks for getting out and helping I wish all of them a better life for the ones who want to leave and wish a better life for the ones who want to stay
@@fringestream990I work for the Courts and people are being evicted everyday because they have to choose to eat, medicine, insurance or rent. A shack is $800 a month and anything decent is $1,300 to $1,500 a month. You have to make over $20 an hour to pay rent. The elderly are being targeted in RV parks. Corporations own these parks and will evict you for any violation, like lawn not being mowed, paint peeling and etc. They take their homes and they are left homeless. No money to get anything else. Lot rent in RV parks have increase $300 to $500 in the past 3 years. Social Security hasn’t gone up that much. People have no idea what people are going through! It’s ridiculous!
@chrystalwilliams8089 thank you for telling it like it really is. I'm not homeless yet but I have 90 dollars to eat off of foe the whole month and we all know that I may get 3 bags of groceries at the store
Being there in the camps is so intense. There are so many that need help in Charlotte County. They were so thankful for Water and supplies . No one is helping them. The mosquitoes are constantly bitting you all over . They are all trying to help each other out the best they can ,
Ive just found your channel on TH-cam bon my tv and have been watching for the last couple of days. I come across this one and it just broke my heart. I could fill your pain. You are so right.
that guy out right lied to you, they are public housing. they get federal funding. they maybe non profit but they are public not privet housing ffs. They have the money to build resorts but not housing. that is showing who is welcome an who isn't. helping those people was awesome. In some ways just know living out side is better then living in a house. As long as they can sleep comfortable and dry have food and as the one guy said they barter things they need with the skills they have. That's how those who had skills made it through the great depression without standing in bread lines. maybe he needs someone to bring him some big barrels to collect rain water being he helps others out there. if you call people that have those or food grade totes, tell them what you need them for lot of times people will just donate them no cost. i like how caring these homeless people were and they looked like a really nice neighborly bunch. anyways ty for helping them.
You are back on what we used to call the fuzzy streets! We used to have keg parties out there every weekend! There were no homeless people camped out back then. I would be scared now to go out there after dark. Drug planes used to use those streets too.
Its not illegal for someone with a child to be homeless as long as the kids are taken care of there's people that live in Rvs Van campers suv campers they still have a home and everything in a home just without the house there's a lot of families that live in campgrounds as well because housing is to much for a lot of people
May God Bless you!! 🙏😇 The world needs more people like you! I hope these homeless people did not get flooded out from Hurricane Debby, with what little bit they have. 😢 So sad. I pray that one day, the rich and wealthy will humble themselves to give more to the less fortunate and not be so judgemental and greedy!
I would be concerned about drinking the water running off of those tarps. The tarps bake in the sun daily and over time, that's probably going to break down their materials, paints or dyes, etc. These poor folks, man.
This has been going on for years! I had a friend move from VA. He painted at Disney, he lost his job, and ended up in a Homeless Camp on Frito Lay property outside Orlando! I went down to check on him and bring him back to VA. He stayed. I had never seen anything like it before & he walked me throughout! Families with Children. He wouldn't walk me back further he said they were crazy people & alligators! He was beaten by 7 guys & became paralyzed. Dead 2 yrs later. Pray for these folks.
You can get those 55 gallon plastic barrels for water collection at some of the flea markets up around Brooksville, that cost very little and can help a lot.
I watched your video and applaud you for your love and concern for the homeless. I believe your efforts would be better spent holding the Federal Government accountable for this widespread problem instead of blaming local governments. Open border and taking care of at least 20 million illegals by providing lodging, food, medical, jobs and spending money is the root cause of the problem. Resources are not infinite the residents of Charlotte County can not afford to fund extra programs at this time based on the state of the economy.
So sad. Our country gives housing, food, healthcare to millions of illegal immigrants but not our own citizens, poor disabled and elderly. Florida needs to be and do much better than this.
they could use water purification drops, it comes in two little bottles, mix a few drops of each and add to water and it is safe to drink, chlorine dioxide is amazing and safer than chlorine.
Jose, I currently live and was raised right here in Charlotte Cty. To my knowledge, there’s only two formal homeless shelters in Charlotte Cty. The Homeless Coalition in Port Charlotte and The Bread of Life Mission in PG. The area of North Port is actually part of Sarasota County. Homelessness has really become a serious issue here especially since Hurricane Ian took out a bunch of housing. Currently, I have a small camp in the wooded vacant lot next door to me. However, I am sure they are homeless due to drug use considering the drug paraphernalia 💉in the immediate area around the camp. It’s literally everywhere and sadly it’s not going away anytime soon.
As long as people have an attitude that the government must provide everything to rectify this situation of homelessness it will not change. This is a complex issue that effects many communities. It’s partially about the lack of a continued community over a long period of time. This area has constantly fluctuated in its population every few years. It’s difficult to establish pathways of help because of this.
Have you read about an invention that can create water from the humidity in the air? That would be very helpful for homeless people like these featured in this video. Florida has a lot of humidity too, the machine should work well.
People dont realize the best preppers out there are homeless or the ones living in tents off grid or even on grid i was homeless myself from 2008-2010 and again 2011 to 2012 you become incredibly strong and resourceful i lived on church food mostly peanut butter and crackers and those tuna fish lunchables i was perfectly fine

Like the idea of tiny homes for the homeless. Development of a lot can be expensive but I would rather see our taxes going to that then over seas. These Men and women could help to provide the labor for a place to call there own grow a garden and be safe.
Our Government wouldnt allow it even if you had funds for the land in the middle of nowhere and cash money for the tiny homes for each homeless person in America. It would be against “zoning regulations” and then the housing authority would have to approve it as well, and they say each child must have their own bedroom, so no small campers or tiny homes for families allowed, they would rather see kids in foster care, and of course, our elected officials would put themselves in charge of any “funds” donated to help homeless people build affordable homes and line their own pockets with that money instead of build homes for them. They would never allow grown adults to just live in peace, work if able, and barter like they are doing now. The government would run it like they do all the horrible and dangerous homeless shelters and housing projects we have now. Which are all full and allegedly have no funding, but yet it’s still illegal to be homeless in America. Go figure. Locals everywhere would say a tiny home community of the poor and elderly was bringing their property values down and pass stricter zoning laws to make sure it didn’t happen in their city/county. They want the homeless gone. But there is nowhere they can legally go to live. They can’t win! At least let them have a chance to get out of homelessness or just die in peace out in nature! Most (not all) People are awful. No empathy. No compassion. Until it happens to them. It’s already illegal pretty much everywhere in this country to live on your own land in a tent, van, camper, tiny home etc. Zoning laws specify homes must be a minimum number of square feet and you must have a power pole, water/well, septic (no outhouses except maybe in Alaska, even though our grandparents and many generations before them used them) and you must pay for expensive permits and abide by their ridiculous time restrictions in building. That is what prevents working class homeless people from ever being able to dig out of homelessness. Rent is too much for most working class people now, especially the elderly on fixed incomes, which is the fastest growing population of homeless people right now. The Government doesn’t want these people to have a home of their own, but yet the Supreme Court overturned a former ruling against cruel and unjust laws against homeless people, and now, being homeless is allowed to be a crime all over. All Thanks to Grants Pass, Oregon who took it all the way to the USSC and won their $hitty case against homeless people. In Grants Pass, the homeless can’t even have a blanket wrapped around them when it’s snowing or place a jacket under their head as a make shift pillow. Why? Bc It’s illegal to be caught sleeping there in public if you are homeless. Yet no shelters or housing is available there. Google it. Governor Desantis just passed new laws in Florida to criminalize the homeless as well. I heard the laws go into effect in October. Tennessee already made it a felony to “camp” (be homeless) on public land. A FELONY! 😮 More states are following suit. This man means well I’m sure, by doing these videos, but these people will lose the only place they have for a home bc of it. The rich locals will pressure officials to drive them out of those woods quick once it’s known to them. The kids will be taken from their parents and bounced around in foster care now too. I wish he had not named the town! He even specifically said the North part of the county. (Most) Cops don’t want to arrest homeless people if they aren’t causing a problem, but now they will be forced to clear that place out. Where will those people go when that happens? Most likely to jail. 😢
I feel for these people 😢 I live in a small shed with no kitchen and thank God for the toilet in here. I wish I could help these people I’m having a hard time just taking care of myself. I live in Port Charlotte if I have anything they might need I would love to give it to them.
I'm "Cowboy" and I'm so grateful to have seen this video for the sake of my efforts to make awareness of the truth of what's not happening in Charlotte County FL. I've done an interview and made front page on the Sun Daily last June. I'm one of the numbers building and I appreciate that more voices are being spoken out about the hidden truth. God bless the misunderstood homeless people!!!
I used to locate housing in the county and it is extremely difficult to locate suitable housing that will pass basic HQS inspections with a somewhat reasonable rental rate. "Affordable housing" in the private sector is like finding a unicorn, and publicly alloted units coming available again are just as rare. It's above us social workers on the frontline. The frustration is shared. Can only continue to advocate. Nice work and Great job not disclosing that location. You know what the result would be. ❤
Well I got priced out of a rental that I was renting for 16 years. The landlord tripled my rent knowing I could never afford that I worked for the school system with disabled children. I could no longer work or afford to live anywhere and people do not care here. I gave my entire life working with special needs children in the school system. Martin county Florida does not want poor people here anymore. It's clear there's no help. 2 years in my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with a leaky roof. I've been trying to get help for years. I have advanced bone disease. Nobody cares. People don't understand how hard this is and how hurtful it is to people who have literally worked their entire lives for this to happen. God bless you for caring

Nothing, but passing the responsibility through red tape after red tape. The fact that anyone in the United States has to be homeless is incredibly wrong.
Can you park an RV on the property. I see them on Facebook marketplace all the time. I wish I could afford one
God Bless you ❤

Yup but he might be making matters worse if they take away those kids. A lot of kids in foster care end up in the wrong hands. I would mind my biz
THANKs TO THE HOUSING MARKET.
SHAME ON THEM FOR OVER PRICING HOMES AND AFFORDABLE APARTMENTS.
EVERYTHING IS TO HIGH.
You are so right! They are building luxury apartments that most people cannot afford.
Almost 36% of homes in the US are owned by people NOT BORN in the US. This is what's making real estate not affordable for real Americans.
@elizabethturczyk1533 it's called greed I live in west palm beach palm beach county getting more homeless but not as bad 😮😢
You are helping others even with your post. Many realize it could be half the country in a year that's going to be homeless. You can help.
Tarp setup:
2 + tarps
Link together with window tape (construction product)
Space a 1" gap between tarps then use the window tape on both sides. The 1" gap allows the window tape strips to adhere/stick to each other.
I did this with 3 tarps and had an awesome camping setup. I could raise and lower the sides
GOD BLESS YOU & THOSE THAT ARE HOMELESS!!!
❤
So kind of you. I live a few miles away from here in Cape Coral. I can't believe they have to live outside in this ungodly heat.
They dumpster dive to survive
The future of many now housed
The banks produced a lot of homeless people
Very very very true.🌹
Most of those people are homeless by choice. At 69 I would assume you had something majorly catastrophic happen or you have done very poor planning since you became an adult at 18 years old for your golden years and retirement. Planning is essential for a long comfortable life.

There is a false widespread stereotype about the homeless. These videos help prove the stereotype is false.
Same line of thought
In Brooksville Fl. there is an abandoned development of single homes. It sickens me that people have to live like this when there are are places just sitting there waiting to be occupied.
Jose I admire the work you're doing. Going out of your way to help people in a bad situation. Plus trying to bring awareness to everyone else of the growing problem. Hopefully that family with kids get the help they need. Along with all the other homeless people. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
They gone make me disappear for it
Thank you for all you do. We need more people like you. First time watching. Subbed

No child should be homeless.

Great video! I have heard that the homelessness is real bad in the Gainesville fl area also. I’m not homeless this is my home. Thanks for your generosity! 😊
Gainesville is in bad shape
Scary because I read an article that desantis is gonna clear them up
I have had a thought for the homeless.
Bidenomics at work :(
I had the same thought of buying a plot of land for them. Zone it for a camp site, build community bathrooms, and maybe an outdoor kitchen. Get the guy from a different camp in Port Charlotte to run it. (I dont recall his name, but I think his wife is Elaine. He has responsibilities for everyone & a clean, organized camp.)

So sad that in a country as rich as ours, that these are the conditions some people live in. Pure sadness
It's sad our taxpayer money could be used to help our veterans instead of funding proxy wars.

America is falling. Homelessness are popping up all over the country.

Bot even four wheelers go here now too scary
They need to help the whole family and not steal the kids into foster care in the event their parents fell on temporary hard times.
Good evening Jose, another fine presentation. Looks like we know the problem, who is part of the solution. ??
The only thing that DCF can do is take those kids and put them in foster care. I don’t think that is a good option.
This is how people have lived in Florida since the first man arrived
Not really. These people are targeted. They have their items stolen, homes destroyed, etc.

Its not illegal for someone with a child to be homeless as long as the kids are taken care of there's people that live in Rvs Van campers suv campers they still have a home and everything in a home just without the house there's a lot of families that live in campgrounds as well because housing is to much for a lot of people

Omgosh. I just moved here and I’ve heard about this. This video found me somehow. Something needs to change.
I would be concerned about drinking the water running off of those tarps. The tarps bake in the sun daily and over time, that's probably going to break down their materials, paints or dyes, etc. These poor folks, man.
Fiberglass makes you really sick 🤢

My wife said the same!
Be careful letting people in charge know about the children. The family is put at risk of cps removing the kids and putting them in foster care
They won’t do crap
I agree leave them alone before the county gets involved. The navy guy certainly doesn’t want to leave.
You are a great couple God Bless You
Jose and the Mrs doing great work. Be careful bro. Im from SWFL and it can be dangerous in the woodline with critters and other things
So sad. Our country gives housing, food, healthcare to millions of illegal immigrants but not our own citizens, poor disabled and elderly. Florida needs to be and do much better than this.
No. They don't have paperwork and social security card. Fox propaganda fiction
they could use water purification drops, it comes in two little bottles, mix a few drops of each and add to water and it is safe to drink, chlorine dioxide is amazing and safer than chlorine.

Richest country in the world, and this is how we treat the less fortunate
Now what he's doing is simply an extended camping stay. Noticed many like this. As a kid we did this months at a time.
Didn't you see how relieved they were to get water? Kid should never live like this. Did you hear what he did during hurricanes?
Have you read about an invention that can create water from the humidity in the air? That would be very helpful for homeless people like these featured in this video. Florida has a lot of humidity too, the machine should work well.
People dont realize the best preppers out there are homeless or the ones living in tents off grid or even on grid i was homeless myself from 2008-2010 and again 2011 to 2012 you become incredibly strong and resourceful i lived on church food mostly peanut butter and crackers and those tuna fish lunchables i was perfectly fine

Florida isnt the only place that has homeless in..

Nothing, but passing the responsibility through red tape after red tape. The fact that anyone in the United States has to be homeless is incredibly wrong. People always push resources that are dead ends. This is going to continue to get worse. Thank you for taking time to help. It always amazes me that in the year 2024 we can't do more.

Is that just the State or is that the Feds, with laws against homeless camps?
