Just chiming in to confirm -- as someone who plays at Bethpage: we never get holes cut on the putting green. We also have severely limited flight balls at the range and we also can't hit drivers there. Nice to see someone mentioning that. Still an amazing place to keep your handicap out of.
Played today and just not quite on my game at all , came home and was feeling pissed off with golf . Watched this and I just want to be out there again , you have a gift to inspire and it’s great that you’re living the dream Erik.
Great ride along! I started watching your videos when I came upon a video you did in Aiken S.C. when you visited Palmetto Golf Club and The Aiken Golf Club a week before the Masters. My home course. Thanks for the inside the ropes look at Bethpage.
While I'm proud that my home club is holding its third major, and enjoy seeing the pros play a course I know well (but have never played well on), may I suggest a follow-up video? You mentioned playing all five courses. Do it next month. See the destruction those tents have caused on the other four courses. That press tent on the Green course is killing the grass on both the 1st and 18th holes (until the park closed a few weeks ago, the 350 yard 1st was playing at 60 yards because of the tent). The 1st hole of the Red has a tent killing the fairway. The 9th hole of the Yellow is completely covered with a tent. And the fairway of the 524 yard 10th has been covered in gravel, and is being used as a bus parking lot. Most of the damaged areas will take the rest of the year to recover (after the 2002 Open, the fairway of 10 on the Yellow took two years to get back to decent condition). There are very few public courses on Long Island. This event closes 5 courses for three weeks, leaving us public golfers scrambling to find places to play. Yesterday the group I play with had to drive an hour to the nearest course we could get tee times. We all know there's a definite upside (and it's a huge plus) to hosting these events. The money they bring in keeps our five courses in brilliant condition; most private clubs would love it if their courses were as good as the five at Bethpage. And we're very proud that our club has a world class course that we can show to the world.

The lasagne comment made the edit ?? How ? One of my goals is to get to an ability where I can play the black course. Every time I see it on TV it gets its hooks into me further. It will be worth a trip from the UK to play it someday.
Hey Erik. It is impossible to play all 5 Bethpage courses in one day. This is because of the slow play on certain courses usually at noon it will get very slow and will be a 5-6 hour round. (It’s my home course btw)

Personally, I find that time is more like soft noodles, it's that screwed up that you can't unravel it and I'm not sure that you are supposed to eat it.
Yellow and Blue are pretty easy, depending on how many in your group and at what time in the day so as a walkup is usually fine. Red gets booked so might be harder until the afternoon. Green is usually ok for a walkup but it gets a lot of traffic so can be a slow round. Hope that helps.
I don’t know why the PGA feels an obligation to take care of the media. They’re some worst people in society, I’d support the PGA more if they didn’t take such good care of these peasants. Not you Erik, you’re obviously the man 🙂

just go on the web site, register then book away. I did it from Melbourne Australia to play the Black last year, easy as
