This is brilliant. I’ve been doing erp with a therapist for 8 months. I’d say it’s gotten me 75% better. I’m beginning to believe Icbt is going to get me through the finish line. Thanks for the content! We need more Icbt therapists like yourself posting videos.
I found that the following cycle is often seen in OCD: first a certain imagined catastrophic outcome (example jail) will be there and around that now a whole story will be crafted and now the person categorizes all those dangerous activities that could lead to the worst possible ourcome (jail) and from there the compulsions and distrust in the own senses just fuel the whole cycle.
I enjoyed this video quite a bit. He’s got that wide professor from a movie vibe and he’s knows his OCD. Can tell he’s a good guy wanting to change things for folks. Also, thank YOU, I Enjoyed this episode. Thanks ma’am🤝🏼
Hi, I'm from Europe, but I think there is actually a wrong transcript / subtitle at time 17:20. It should be "ERP and ACT or ACT on its own"... as ACT means Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), if I am correct ;). Anyway, thank you, from this I'm adding Carl Robbins to my list of favorite ICBT explainers. :)
So, i see doctor carl's point but actually to doubt the results of a result and where it could have gone wrong when there is a point that does not make sense is not obssessional, for i have heard of and sometimes seen that results are mistakenly reported, so context always matters, as this is a life threatening condition.

Yes OCD reasoning is wild

Glad you liked it 😊
Very informative video, I do many compulsions while disregarding the reality.
Indeed everyone with OCD disregards reality- it’s like we get wrapped up in the OCD bubble.
