I haven t been soldering for very long. My first ring was embarrassing. I was also riveting. I just stumbled on this video and fell in love. Thank you. Something I can do lol

Depends on how thick you make it when adding solder and depends on what the project is.

Very cool. Just happened on this is the butterfly made from solder? How does the solder hold up. Does it discolor on your skin

Yes it's soldered copper - it shouldn't but really depends on your personal chemistry!

I always enjoy watching you show us your new creations. I want to let you know that I am silversmith instructor plus I specialize in designing one of a kind jewelry for my clients. I’m on Instagram, Facebook etc… I also have everything I need to do your Tiffany style soldering too. I’m curious only because you mentioned for us in a very kindly matter to please not copy your designs and especially not to sale any of your designs. How can I protect my designs? I have clients that I have designed a very special piece for them and most of my clients ask me to please not put this design on any social medias. Because they want their piece of jewelry to be unique and when they walk into an event my clients want their piece to stand out and the last thing they want is to be in an event and someone else wearing the same piece of jewelry almost created exactly like the one that I specially designed for them. I have a very good reputation in this business and my business has been built on Word of mouth. So my question is again is there any way that I can protect my designs?? There is another lady that does wire wrapping on TH-cam I’m not going to mention her name publicly but if I was able to send you a personal email then I could tell you who she is but she claims that her work is copyrighted and on her TH-cam channel she has brought up several times with her designs about a TH-cam designer copying her design that she was the one who came up with this creation. And she also has a link that you can go to and I believe you have to pay in order to learn about how to get your jewelry copyrighted…. I have been under the impression that what this other designer says is not true. And to be honest with you her designs with wire wrapping look almost identical to some of the other ladies on TH-cam that have designed a piece… I have been teaching for so many years and I’ve never come across anyone ever telling me that I can patent my jewelry designs… and with you already having fabulous books published and out in the market, do you know if this is true about patning your jewelry designs??? Thank you so much, Autumn Michelle

Once your artwork/design is created it is automatically protected under United States copyright law, that is if you are in the United States. I do not know about other countries. If you have your design or artwork “published” which could be in a book, in a video, or even a photo on your Instagram, that can further help establishing your date of creation. Patenting is a whole other thing and is not about artwork. Whether you share the custom work that you create for clients in your social media is your own decision. But if you plan on sharing with the public what you create for someone as a custom order, you should tell the customer upfront that the design remains your original copyright, the ownership remains with you, and that you have the right to share/publish/re-create your own design, If that is what you wish. I am not a lawyer that’s just what I know.

@@LauraBethLove i’m in the United States actually Texas and you actually sound like a lawyer Laura Beth Love. That actually makes me feel a lot better but when I have a client let’s just say they pay over $250 for a piece of jewelry they want it to stay a one of a kind piece. I completely understand. And I respect their wishes but I really like what you told me about copywriting I’m going to actually check into this more. Because this other woman on TH-cam does not even come close to explaining it the way you just did to me. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to me… but I still do not post a lot of my jewelry because I’ve seen my pieces copied and I just usually let it go. But I’ve noticed some designers have been actually putting on the post that there design is protected under the United States copyright laws I don’t know if it’s exactly the way you said it but it definitely sounds like it. So I’m going to start adding this to my finished piece when I post on Instagram. I also teach but that’s a completely different story…. You have a wonderful day can’t wait to see your next video Big hugs 🤗 Autumn Michelle
