It’s the way Jerry Orbach raises his right eyebrow when the officer tells him the exact age of the officer’s kid. Lenny clocked immediately he knew more than what he was saying. What a great actor.
An unusually fine episode, with questions of moral and legal “justice” moving back and forth in a careful balance. I wish it could have ended with the jury forewoman standing up to read the verdict - but then leaving us hanging to argue about it with ourselves.
I’ve seen it in the military too. Female in the service married to a man with no job and no ambition, eventually has an affair with a male in her department (usually a supervisor/superior rank). Both parties are guilty of article 134 of the UCMJ, fraternization/infidelity. It’s despicable. Both members should be kicked out of the service.
i talk to one of my coworkers all the time about her family and it took me a full year to even realize how old her daughter might be because she’s in kindergarten, i still have no clue if she’s 5 or 6, 17 months is a weirdly specific age to remember and they may find it weird she was talking about mommy stuff to a man who can’t relate
My final 2 years of Highschool while attending it in the city with students running through the hallway from Detectives and Cops was almost a daily occurrence. FYI my Highschool was nice, one of the tops in the city, and it was a remotely Jewish oriented with a minor Asian and Hispanic community, the big issue was that the district forced certain schools to bring in kids from bad neighborhoods to make up the difference. Thus they brought along their outside issues into the school before we knew it we got the label "ghetto" as well. It took over a decade, but I'm glad the schools fought back this idea, and now students can only attend schools closer to their zip code, unless they want to take a city bus to their desired school, which is an available option.
Do not lump all children who grew up in rough neighborhoods as children who have problems with the law. I was a child who lived in the city and went to private school in the suburbs but the kids who lived in the suburbs were the ones with criminal records and I was an A/B student who consistently made the honor roll. Mind you I specifically attended catholic schools from elementary to college. It’s how your parents raise you and the values they instill in you that matter not the neighborhood you grew up in.
'' They have to, when they run away from something, we run towards it '' . Another great piece of copaganda there but Uvalde Texas shows it very differently.
@@RLucas3000 Fair point. Bit unfair of me to paint all cops with the cowards brush based on Uvalde. 9/11 showed there are definitely absolute heroes in the police force.

The man’s an expert on marriage and family. He can spot infidelity a mile away and when someone’s kid has a problem.
Yes.
Yeah half the people forget anniversaries and even their own kids months. I do not know sometimes with mine. Yeah red flag.
"Anybody else talk 'heavy' to her either?" Lenny subtling pressing him.
Many of the backup actors and actresses deserve awards for their roles in shows like this.
Yeah they should give Emmys and Oscars for best non major part performance.

A bit like that SVU episode “Doubt”
With all due respect I appreciate that the verdict was NG
Especially when they added as to why the boy was mad at the police.

I would say with better context it would makes sense why he did it not that I’m condoning it but I understand why he did it.

The chatty co-worker at the nurse's station 😂😂😂😂😂

She is a cop on the show justified, I recognized her voice the second she spoke.
she was so cute 😂

This episode was a cavalcade of incompetence from the cops and prosecutors.

Kid falling flat on his face, lol.
They thought it was the other cop because he listens to his co-workers? Just because they're antisocial doesn't mean other co-workers aren't friends.

I wonder if this was the first time Green's Gambling habit was mentioned?
No they mention it in his very fist appearance
No justice for an italian police woman. Episode ahead of its time
With a Cop-Shooting we started bad with this case
That was a poorly executed escape

One of the episodes that reminds one of the double standards applied to racism.
