I feel bad for the first mother and her child, she was doing the best she could on her own. This is why they say it takes a village to raise a child, we were never meant to do it alone.

@kweenz600 oh. My bad. In the case of Wednesday's child, I don't think his father realized how Nicky acted when only the mom was around. My guess is that Nicky acts completely different in fro t of the father and treats the mother differently. WhileI wouldn't make the choice myself, the dad thought giving the boy a home would be enough, but was sadly wrong.
Same reason plenty of bio dads have kids when they aren't going to bother raising them. Because it's what Real Men do when they have someone they can dump the kid on.
That poor excuse of a mother in Nicky's story should also be arrested for Child Endangerment And even though the husband is to blame too for putting his son up with her, she not only sign him away without her husband's consent, but also could've have enough money to hire a trustworthy babysitter

why adopt a child anyway if the "Father" is never home she had to deal with a horrible child who was a danger to himself and others maybe this is better..
I just realized with the SVU clip -- the one with the boy given away, isn't the red head counselor married to the man she argued with? Why were they acting as if it was the first time they met? Don't they already have a 10 year old child at this point?

First one was more a landlord's greed than an unfit mother.
This was what I was going to comment; she doesn't belong on an unfit mothers playlist!

It's so interesting to see her young version. Talent

That mother who gave Nicky away should go to prison
Only if the man who insisted they adopt and then bailed for a month and a half is also charged. He abandoned the kid more than the woman did.

There's a similar Rehousing/Missing adopted child storyline in Chicago PD & the "you gave my son away?" line is almost identical in both
Every child deserves to be raised in a loving environment, but not all adults qualify to be parents.
