I always wished they did an episode where Stone came back, to defend someone, and went head to head with Macoy. God that would have been insanely good television.
This was one of the best shows for so many reasons ever produced honestly Nothing like it on TV anymore Filmed in NYC, all these young actors got their start
That woman is a Queen. Such an amazing actor, it's just sad that she isn't a HUGE deal in the industry. She's given such great performances. It's insane.
It's just sickening the guy takes advantage of the girls trust, making her think what they are doing is love, but in truth he just did it for his own sick pleasure.
Claire Danes is, and always has been, a terrific actor. Loved seeing Steven Hill again. I prefer Stone to McCoy, he seemed far more decent, less concerned about winning. This is another example. Did the right thing instead of trying to get the max sentence.
I don't believe we should be trying kids as adults, that's the whole reason the juvenile system is there in the first place. The laws which allow for a kid to be tried as an adult are supposed to be for the rarest of cases and unfortunately we see it happening way too often. The same goes for plea deals, somehow plea deals evolved from the same kind of 'exception, not the rule' usage to it being the literal strained back bone of our justice system. If plea deals were stopped tomorrow then they'd have no choice but to free a WHOLE lot of people because fact of the matter is our justice system would grind to a screeching halt and literally fall apart. It'd take 2 years just to get arraigned probably 10 before you actually saw trial OR MORE. jails and prisons would be automatically beyond capacity.
The only problem with this idea is that with very very rare cases of sociopathic or psychopathic children and teens who kill, assault or hurt others and so no remorse of any kind. In that very very rare instance, yes they should be tried as adults because they don’t think like children and shouldn’t be treated as such. But that’s just my opinion.
I loved Ben Stone, but it’s cases like this where I think Jack McCoy is the man that was needed. Stone always tried to do what is morally good, but McCoy will fight to secure justice at all costs.
There are always circumstances for the perpetrators to lighten their sentences. There are no circumstances that can lighten consequences of the already committed crime. Is this fair?
I’m sorry but she knew exactly what she was doing. Yep, the blokes a scumbag but she murdered him because he said she wasn’t pretty enough! She didn’t do it in self defence, she did it out of rage and anger, ok at 15 yep cut her some slack but she knew it was wrong, should have been 15 years at least.
@drdavidtee If a 15 year old is an adult than they should be treated as adults so they should: be sentenced as adults, go to war like adults, get tattoos, drink, smoke, vote and so on

The closest they came was having Robinette return as a defense attorney.
No,but they got Robinette to come back to face off against Mccoy
They did something similar on svu with carisi vs barba
I would love that, too. Unfortunately, Janet Reno wouldn't leave TV alone, and it ruined the role for Michael Moriarty
This was one of the best shows for so many reasons ever produced honestly

I always loved it when this defense lawyer was on the show, she and Stone had this weird chemistry
What is the actor's name? I recognize her face but can't get the name.

She's on the equalizer with Queen Latifah she looks exactly the same like 20 years later
They need to make the OG series available for streaming!!!! I hate it when I can’t see how an episode ends. 😩
Sundance Channel has Original episodes/marathons on Thursdays & Fridays and Criminal Intent episodes on thru the week.
it's on peacock!
God yes! The only place I can actually watch the early seasons is on Sling and I have to record them

She showed her talent in Homeland. She was brilliant there
McCoy was annoying and self righteous
I always liked Stone. He always tried to find justice, and do the right thing.
And years later Claire’s hubby would become ADA on the show.

I love the original Law and Order
I just wish we could have the original along with the others in reruns somewhere.
Me too, so realistic.
I'm so irritated that the first 9 seasons were removed from streaming.
I've been trying to contact NBC to purchase them and can't get a response.
@@yeah_right88 TH-cam , Amazon, Peacock might have.
Both that and SVU are my favorites :)
Every actor is this clip is first rate. Amazing.
Really really REALLY wish these earlier seasons were available for streaming!!
they are but you got to pay for them. I have paid to watch a couple of them
Man, Claire is so excellent in that scene, in this episode. Just love her.
Also was too rare this case, starting with the way with the victim ended his days
I loved Steven Hill as Adam Schiff. And he was terrific as Dan Briggs in Season 1 of Mission Impossible.

I wish Richard Brooks could return to Law & Order.
He has, on a couple of occasions. Robinette entered into private practice as a defense attorney, and went up against McCoy on I believe 3 occasions.
Why isn't the early seasons, let alone every season, available for streaming?
I agree.. on Peacock you’ll only find season 13 and upwards😟
Ben's hung his head in embarrassment. That is rare......and beautiful.
Stone was just, so intelligent.

The scene shows why Claire got Homeland years later.
Every thing Claire Danes does is good❤❤
She did a really good job as Temple Grandin & as San from Princess Mononoke
The first two seasons were the best.
Why have we not seen more of Richard Brooks? He's an amazing actor.
literally everyone and their mother was on this show o-0
Every famous actor made their bones through this show or recovered their career
Kinda low-key want to play a Law and Order bingo
Forever known as Peppermint Patty to me! 😂
This episode should’ve been on svu

Ms ADA's hair has more liquid fibreglass in it than Ray Martin's (That's an Australian joke).
Couldn't think where I knew her from at first, then I remembered T3.....
The best!
The actor who plays the dad played a defense attorney who defended a seventeen year old who was sentenced to death

wow Claire Dane's famous chin crying was only in its infancy at this stage!
lol but shes so pretty
So basically...he told her she isn't pretty so she killed him. And these guys are like: "yeah, understandable, have a 3 year sentence"....what? :D
Yeah, what the hell was that? 10-15 years minimum.
