OMG!!! I have been waiting for this lasagna recipe for like a decade (whenever Laura made her last meat lasagna). She mentioned that her Nonna had her making these tiny meatballs in the old lasagna video and I've been waiting every since. Love you Laura!!
I remember this episode! She said it in the same tone in this video “teeny teeny tiney meatballs” and she said “cause she she had me to do it” 🤣. Classic episode!
I made Nonna's lasagna for last night's early Christmas dinner (made it a day ahead) It was very good!! The meatballs were so tasty!! Thank you, Laura.
The meatballs are cute. My mother never did that. I think she just browned the ground beef loose, and spooned that in. You’ve inspired me to tackle lasagna. I’ve always avoided all that work and just soothe my lasagna desires in restaurants. Now I wanna try it. 😉🇮🇹
I've been waiting to see this recipe for 10+ years ever since your original lasagna video when you mentioned it (which i still go back to and watch lol)
Grandmothers and mothers were hard task masters… but today I thank them and will do the same with mine. Thanks for sharing a recipe that’s so close to your heart Laura. Happy Christmas ❤️
This makes me so happy! lol My grandma, also from Naples, made lasagna similarly. GIANT platters of teeny tiny meatballs ( that was the kids' job eventually :) ) It was so special and typical for the holidays. Sometimes she chopped up little teeny tiny pieces of ham or salami, too. I have not made it like this is years and years but I think I will this year. This was so fun to watch !:) God Bless xoxo
Made this today and it was easily the best Lasagna I've ever had! I used bechamel instead of Ricotta (5 cups milk) and it turned up super creamy and the meatballs were very tender and delicious. Bravo nonna!
Dude what, I literally just watched a video from like 8 years ago and she’s s still as beautiful as back then 😭😭 Also your recipes look amazing, I’m keen to give them a try!
Laura, you take me back to my precious Grandma from Naples. Everything she cooked was so good. When I saw your short video with "her song" playing, I CRIED like a baby. Happy holidays to you & your family. Christmas Eve...7 fishes. Love from Queens, NY ❤️🇮🇹🎄🎄❤️
@@sharonvelasquez4456 No I don't know you, I was just passing by when I saw your profile you bear the same name with one of my relatives. I just want to be friendly with you Sharon, hope you don't mind?😊
Anything that anyone nonnas make are the absolute best nothing can compare my family is the same Laura Christmas Eve all about the fish and then the next day my mom which is a nonna makes lasagna for the grandchildren it’s always requested thanks for sharing this great recipe and bringing back good memories thanks take care
We eat Capelletti on Christmas. My great grandparents came from Sicily on the boat. I just love your channel and would love to see how you make capelletti
Laura I just want to let you know that I’ve been having a bad week, but seeing a notification from you made today better. I appreciate you, your spirit and your content. 💗
That's different.. I make a meat sauce for lasagna. I never seen this before.. cute!..I make my little meatballs for wedding soup on a cookie sheet. It's quick and easy.
I love to watch you taste the dishes! I know how Italian food especially homemade delicious. I got to experience the Italian Christmas Eve dinner the dishes just keep coming... Cheers to you and yours from Boston.!
That’s a tradition in my house hold every Christmas Day is Lasagna....I will try Nonnas recipe this year.... And I have 4 year old granddaughter to help with the tiny meatballs..🎄
Omg... This reminds me of my childhood so much. Whenever my mom or my grandma made Turkish meatball soup I had to help to make the meatballs. They were about the same size as the ones you made. It took forever but boy it was good!
My boyfriend and I usually spend christmas eve with our respective families and usually christmas day with his family, so Ibnever has to think about what to cook for christmas haha. But since we're staying in for NYE, I think I will prepare lasagne then! It looks sooo good. Love the tiny meatballs!
I was wondering if it is still warm after an hour of resting? And how would you reheat the next day? Oven? Would you undercook it the day before so the pasta doesnt overcook? I prefer all my pastas quite firm and aldente, so thats why I was wondering about that. I do love these ingredients and setup, I know some people throw loads of veggies and stuff in their lasagna but that just isnt for me, all those weird textures in there... love just the sauce, those lovely little meatballs and all the right cheeses 🥰
@@rebeccarobbins5793 I would think it would be cold by then. Thats why I would love to hear from Laura how that would work. Reheat, or possible keep warm in the oven? I dont think they would eat it cold... Also, the lasagna my mom makes is best fresh from the oven. I really don't like that the next day, since the sauce is pretty much dried out and the pastasheets just mushy 😶
I'm totally making this for Christmas Eve perfect to eat after 5pm church service. I will make a double batch of the meatballs. I love extra meatballs in the freezer. Perfect if you want some meatball parm sandwiches for a quick meal! Gotta have the sauce in the freezer too!
I make lasagna for Christmas Eve, every year. This year, I'm going to do it the day before as you suggest, that will give me more time with my company! However, I would really appreciate, REHEAT directions!! Thanks!
Looks so good! If you bake it the day before and refrigerate, how long do you have to bake the next day to warm through? And doesn't it dry out too much baking it twice?
I love that you made this Laura. This type of lasagne recently won a prize in a recent buzzFeedUK video. Been wondering when you will be making it. Thank you so much for sharing? Will I ever get my pasta con le sarde???
Hi Laura, this looks amazing! I’m definitely going to make this. At what temp and for how long will it take to reheat if I cook it the day before. I think that will make the holiday more enjoyable for me, thanks!
❤️❤️ yummmmm looks so delicious! Just reading “Nonna’s recipe” and I know it’s gonna be oh mighty delicious😍😍 Like everything you share with us❤️❤️ Hope your Nonna, you and your family are all doing well!!

Love Lasagna,I make it every year for Christmas too, enjoyed watching you make your Nonnas Lasagna. I never used that type of Mozzarella cheese,I used the Sargentos sliced.Always wanted to make it with meatballs, after watching you I will. Merry Christmas🎄🎄
Happy to se her shut the 'Bechamel' crowd down...I've seen many (mostly the offspring of Italian grandparents) argue that only ignorant Americans make lasagna without Bechamel! So wrong! Laura is making lasagna very close to, if not exactly as my grandma made it.
Hey Laura, love this recipe, it looks so amazing! If you were going to freeze it, would you finish every step until the baking and then just cover and freeze it? Greets from Germany
I never use meatballs in lasagna but i hear thats how theyre supposed to be done. I like having the ground beef in a single layer but there is something about the tiny meatballs that feel special.
im sicilian and we too prefer ricotta to bechamel my sister in law is from piedmonte and they use fresh pasta and bechamel i've made with fresh pasta too but still no bechamel prefer ricotta its a question of taste you all can decide what you prefer and make it that way both ways are right.
I bought a locally made lasagna that had cinnamon and clove in it. Why? Why do some people do that? My brain was thinking it was desert and rejecting it. I can’t wait to make this one. Looks so delicious!
