It was an early bonding experience for me and my new roommates, and watching this brought back a lot of good memories. ...And in the playoffs, we WERE able to see fireworks on a Jim Thome homer in the playoffs against Boston from our place in Ohio City. Or maybe we just heard them? Either way, this Indians team will always be one of my favorites. The Indians/Guardians aren't my actual team, but I've always had a great deal of fondness for them because of my time in Cleveland, and because of this '99 team.

More like their scorebook. Even using the bigger team style book, you only have so many spaces for each batting spot. Baines had bad knees and was timed with a sundial by that point in his career. Justice was slowing down too. Hargrove wasn't beyond putting a pitcher in the outfield in a pinch and using an infielder like Carlos actually saved him from putting another pitcher in a OF spot. Nagy was more of an athlete so putting him out there wasn't so much of a defensive liability. Losing Junior really hurt them more than anything that game but his backup ATM wasn't too bad.

Why do cry baby pitchers especially those who don’t have to get in the batter’s box, feel that they have the right to throw at batter’s after home runs have been hit? The last time I checked, home runs are part of the game.
Given that it was pitch 2 of the AB, I’m guessing he got pissed that he was swinging away so hard at the first pitch. Sort of a “you already embarrassed us, no need to pour it on now.” But lol you’re so right, pitchers are so soft and have no right doing that as a reaction to good play
I honestly side with Justice here. Just because the Indians dismantled their bullpen doesn't mean they can break his ribs and make him miss a game or something stupid. Taking a 100 mph rock directly to the ribs is no joke, and the intentional HBP provides absolutely nothing to the game.
This is why Percival was so angry after and kept trying to fight on the field and had to be held back. The helmet hit him on the top of his head, it definitely hurt a lot
I have watched the mighty and powerful Colorado Rockies and I have never seen them score 12 in a game in my 25 years in Denver and I have season ticket.
Seeing this today, with all of the changes made to speed up the game, really demonstrates how slow the game used to be. The short walks around the the pitching mount, the step backs to take a few cuts, all add up to a lot of time wasted. I ended up watching this on 1.25x. In person, the slower game never bothered me, but on TV, it was always terrible, especially now with my phone reduced attention span.

This and the 01 Mariners comeback are my all time classics
Mariners fan here. Whenever I see comments about 'the game is over', I refer to that '01 game. "Are you sure?". Had the M's held on, they'd have had solitary claim to most wins in an MLB season (assuming the rest of the season ended exactly as it did). I'd rather they'd won a ring but they got neither. 23 years later....
Thank you for ads and all!
The good old days!
So nice to hear John Adams’ drum again.
I honestly side with Justice here.
Just because the Indians dismantled their bullpen doesn't mean they can break his ribs and make him miss a game or something stupid. Taking a 100 mph rock directly to the ribs is no joke, and the intentional HBP provides absolutely nothing to the game.
I remember watching this game!!
Should've had Ricky Willie Jake and Pedro....
Never forget this game lol! Justice with the perfect helmet throw.
Exactly. First time I've seen a player throwing their helmet right on the target . That was fun to watch.
@@lesant7659 lol it was that kind of night in every way for the tribe. 😂
This is why Percival was so angry after and kept trying to fight on the field and had to be held back. The helmet hit him on the top of his head, it definitely hurt a lot
@@tynao2029 He got hit by the helmet cuz he clearly threw at Justice intentionally.
I saw this game live as it happened.
I remember Rex Hudler sounded like he was going to cry.
Holy shit. That strike zone was fucking YUUUUGE.
How have I not seen this fight until now
THis game had it all...
I love this team
Still get chills
I was at this game 8 years old
This game had everything lol
This is why i love baseball with a passion. Come from behind wins, brawls, lol give me baseball all day everyday 😂😄
Yes, sadly the game has changed.
That's most team sports
I have watched the mighty and powerful Colorado Rockies and I have never seen them score 12 in a game in my 25 years in Denver and I have season ticket.
I think you need to include the final at-bat of the inning.
Man this team was stacked with good players
Seeing this today, with all of the changes made to speed up the game, really demonstrates how slow the game used to be. The short walks around the the pitching mount, the step backs to take a few cuts, all add up to a lot of time wasted. I ended up watching this on 1.25x. In person, the slower game never bothered me, but on TV, it was always terrible, especially now with my phone reduced attention span.
14-12 was how it would end, I looked it up for anyone wondering.
Collin’s arguing after a clear intentional hbp is a joke
Call the field what you want.
Call the team what you want.
Cleveland will always be Cleveland ❤
Incredible ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
REALLY Cleveland fans you have this and August 5 2001, just stay till the end.
Cleveland Indians have always been an aggressive team. We have had some great fights in the field! 😂
Throwing at a batter should be a life time ban from MLB.
I remember watching this game
Looks like someone gave JOBU his rum that day
I can't believe how ugly those old Angels uniforms were 😅
Only legends played in this game
2 years later they made a 12 run comeback vs a Mariners team that broke a record for wins in a season that year.
As an old soul Yankees person for August 1999, this is absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm DYING LAUGHING 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same here brother
@@sbcjraid😢if only the Indians can come back
@@jacobrichardson1952 and Jacob's Field
they really said "drunk with indians" and didn't think twice
Omar Vizquel was a magician.
the all-time major league record for MOST runs scored in a half inning, was when the Chicago White Stockings scored 18 runs against the Long defunct Detroit Wolverines on Sept 6 of 1883......
Damn this Indians team was good. Too bad they didnt win a WS.
That was a great game and it is great to be able to see it this many years later on youtube. I love seeing Chief Wahoo on the uniforms too. Much nicer uniforms than they wore today.
12:30 "The based are still drunk with Indians" LOOOOOL
this is why u don't give up ' this can happen ' a miracle rally like this wow 😳
