I am 72 years old and am pill free! I had been on anti depression, anti anxiety and sleeping pills for 20 years. As soon as I retired I moved to the country and weaned myself off drugs. It took me over a year. I eliminated sugar (more difficult than drugs) and carbs, relegating those to about 20% of my diet. I see a doctor once a year for blood work. I manage my depression by paying attention to my thoughts and being positive and non judgmental to myself and the world at large. Gosh! I wish there were more doctors like this one. I had to fight with my doctor to get off medication!
So many people can solve their bi-polar by switching off carbs (sugar) and doing keto. The brain is so much more level running on ketones than glucose.
In 2019, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes (A1C 7.5) I drastically changed my lifestyle and diet. In four months, my A1C was down to 4.8. My blood pressure dropped more slowly but when my BP was still going to low despite being on 1/4 of the dose that I started on, my doctor refused to try weaning me off of my meds. Instead, she just kept jumping me from one medication to another. When I asked why she said, "That's how we do it. We keep trying different drugs until we find the right one." I finally found a new doctor who takes pride in de-prescribing whenever possible.
A huge part of the issue is forcing doctors to 10-15 minutes appointments. How can you determine what’s really wrong. It forces them to manage symptoms with prescriptions. It’s not holistic. It’s the same here in the US.
@@johnfredericks5177 with the opiate crisis.... What else can he do besides prescribe opiates? Most Drs in the USA are afraid to give for fear of prosecutions from the DEA!!
Facts. The gentleman at 12:20 hit the nail on the head. Doctors have too many patients and too little time per patient. They don't have the luxury of being able to manage patient lifestyles
It took me multiple doctors here in the USA, plus tons of tests and appointments before I finally found the cause of all my health problems. I even had one doctor threatening to send me to a psychiatrist even though my problems were physical. I knew they were physical, I knew something was wrong. Sadly doctors just kept throwing the same tests at me over and over again. It took an OBGYN who spent 30 minutes listening to me to solve the riddle. He ran the tests that needed to be run. I live in Texas and am outside daily but it turns out I was dying of a vitamin D deficiency. My blood levels for D2 were great, but my D3 levels were life threatening low. I was literally only a 3 points from my heart being damaged from low D3 levels. I was immediately put on high doses of D3. I was also approaching menopause and had a few other hormonal issues but the biggest issue was my D3 levels. No drugs can solve the symptoms of a vitamin deficiency except correcting that deficiency.
I got off BP medicine by going gluten-free. Other health issues resolved themselves too. I just feel so much better now. Have to wonder how many problems would disappear if diets were addressed.
Wow I know this was a year ago… but I am having women’s health issues and been to many specialist and doctors … if you don’t mind sharing what was the problem you were experiencing?
The REAL problem is the "10 mins per patient." That is a bunch of malarkey b/c no doctor can know a patient in 10 mins.

And sometimes new doctor after new doctor on continuing consultations, no way can any sort of proper patient/doctor rapport be built up this way resulting in more pills been thrown at problems which clearly doesn't work and only exasperates problems on a wider scale both socially and medically
I face an uphill battle trying to provide alternative therapies to patients that do not just involve prescription medications. Dealing with the root of the problem and educating patients takes time but I do see progress. We need more physicians like this and the government should really start to take note. Chris, phenomenal work- the world needs more like you
Heck, the government is in on it. I don't think it's all financially motivated either, I think they're purposefully poisoning people. To what end I don't know. They've managed to convince an overwhelming majority of the population that they need all these drugs just to live. Every day they come up with some new "condition" that you should ask your doctor about. Most of the time these "conditions" aren't even life threatening, and yet the fact that death is more often than not one of the potential side effects doesn't give people pause. It's absurd.
You should look up medicaid. This is a government agency that says $13 billion in hospitalizations would be saved each year if DOCTORS told their patients what to eat, like organic fruits and veggies. Sugar is a poison. The organic word is important because those pesticides make people sick, too.
I agree with you 100 percent. And I love that there are people like you out there! I’m 59 was pill free til I turned 59. I still believe the body can heal with right elements.
I wonder if it's partly due to the fact that it's much easier to go to the doctor in the UK so people are more likely to go for minor ailments. So there are more people going to the doctor and doctors are thus overwhelmed. In my country consultations are 30 minutes long and that's sometimes cutting it fine if you need a battery of tests. But, then again, it's so expensive to go to the doctor in first place that most people usually wait until it's really serious before you go and for minor things they just sleep it off.
I asked every doctor I saw for two or three years why my right big toenail was purple. In the ER for a cat scan after a fall that ended with my left skull hitting the pavement the doctor came to tell me the results. Concussion. Then, “Has anyone talked to you about blood sugar?” The second day after starting the Type II med my purple toe was no longer purple.
Ellen Vinckx Schouten They are there but many are murdered when they speak out. You have to seek them out and they are usually on a high waiting list. Research and you will be amazed.

Kudos to Sarah for searching out this doctor and trying to find alternatives to the anti-depressants. Exercise, nutrition, sleep and natural light exposure can be so important along with working through that trauma and loss. I wish her well for her daughter and future.

Here I lay with a shattered spine, denied diagnose / treatment for the 100th time, 1 doctor, 2 doctors, 3 and then 4, my specific complaints all ignored, 1 Hospital, 2 Hospitals, 3 and then 4, are there any real doctors around here anymore, My request for MRI, to diagnose the injury, the reason for pain, Is met with denial and denial again, 3 years pass in the blink of an eye, No CT scan or MRI; Finally in pain an MRI is ordered, but not for spine, just for my shoulder, the ortho surgeon requests funds 4 surgery but this is denied by WCB. I am told once the surgery for shoulder is done, My back pain will disappear, it will be gone, Then I’m labelled a malingering faker behind my back, From a doctor whose obviously a boneheaded quack, I beg for help as I’m in severe pain, but bottles and bottles of pills, are given again, a new doctor states he’s already been warned, so no tests are ordered, and I’m shown the door, Another assessment paid by WCB, 4 doctors opinion just more physiotherapy, I’m given exercises and stretches to due, A Psych evaluation comes out of the blue. In physiotherapy my back starts to spasm, electric shocks and pain you cannot fathom, a new doctor orders a x-ray at last, and diagnoses my broken back, Then a MRI is finally given, followed by a retired neurosurgeon for opinion, 10 recommendations he made for rehabilitation, Denied everything with WCB legislation, My injury claim closed, benefits terminated, Multiple complaints of severe pain not investigated. 3 more years pass in the blink of an eye, my specific complaints are all denied, At last, I receive a physical examination, My complaint of pain is investigated, Oh here is the problem, which was missed, another spinal injury, the doctor insists. That’s 9 years ago, when I finally received, a proper diagnosis of my work injury, But here I lay with a shattered spine, denied medical care by WCB every time.

Thus is why I quit nursing- first thing I did after adopting my daughter- I threw out the Dilantin. Lol she didn’t have epilepsy- she had a seizure after a subdural hematoma and had brain surgery- she’d been on the Dilantin since the surgery and that was at age 1months- and I got her at 2. This Dr is really serious about saving lives, not drug pushing patients into addictions, his compassion is admirable, well done Dr for your courage, thank you for your concern and humanity, all the best with this approach, thumbsup from from South Africa
As a former pain pill addict, I can tell you that pain pills make your body scream for the medicine. If someone would have told me that when I was in the middle of my addiction, I would have laughed in their faces. But the truth of it all is, when you start taking pain pills for chronic pain, I wasn't worried about addiction, I was pain free, or so I thought! Then the addiction came, so I would take more than prescribed because they became ineffective. I thought I would always be on pain pills, but I was blessed to get it together and come off them. Most of my pain dissapeared, I still had reasons for a triple fusion, 3 different surgeons tried with all their might to have our insurance company to pay for it but they flat out refused. Looking back, I am thankful I didn't have that done, I have heard horror stories about how messed up people have been after surgery. I ended up going to a Dr. that practices Homeopathic medicine and they fixed my back right on up. I had 3 rounds of Prolotherapy, I don't have chronic pain anymore, just a sore back every now and then. I do have to be careful not to overdue it, but that's fine with me. The addiction was horrible, my insurance wouldn't pay for surgery, but they sure nuff paid for me to go to pain management and in turn I got a huge addiction out of it. They paid for my addiction, no problem getting pain pills, but that is no life at all, depending on a medicine that isn't even helping me, just making me worse with an addiction. I have been pain pill free for over 4 years now and I can tell you, I feel so much better. Please, anyone reading this, do everything possible before you ever take a pain pill. I do realize there are people that wouldn't have a normal life without them, they have to have them, but it wouldn't hurt them to try to see just how much they are helping or not, like he did with the chart on the back pain lady. I get it, I thought I would never be the same, but because of getting off the meds, I am free in so many ways. God bless those that suffer daily from pain, please help those that really don't need pain pills to get off of them. Help the ones that need them to find an alternative way for them to be free of pain. You did it for me, I know You will do it for others. Thank you Jesus, for my pain free life!
I had serious back injury. After 5 yrs of pain that felt like hammers smashing my entire body. From ribs down. I choose surgical. I had the best in the world do it. Pure luck. Those who went else where. All tell me horror stories. After thier back surgeries, knees, etc. I knew from 1st pain med. I could not fungible on them. I needed to be as alert as I could be. For my children. I choose no pain meds. They also did not work for the pain anyway. I did do 800 mg ibuprfen only. I try to only do after can t bare it anymore. Later i severly had injury to back again. Still deal with it. Original doc retired. People don't understand sore back and bad back are not the same as severe injuries to spine. The nerves in the zone reach every part of the body. It is a billion things worse than having a baby. I am grateful to hear your story. If I we're to have taken the pain meds. It could easily have happened to me. So many very addicted due to prescriptions. My good friend died from getting addicted to pain meds. He never did drugs. He od'. Best drummer I ever heard. All due to an injury and a prescription.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the pills and your previous addiction, and i'm very proud of you for getting off meds. There is something really hard to do! This is the reason why I don't take medication for anything. Even if i'm in pain, it will pass, but I always tell everyone that doctors don't cure people they are great to prescribed lots of meds and never cure you or get to the source of the problem and why this is happening to us! Because every pill comes with more side-effects and most of the time is worse than the one you are suffering from, so for as long as I can, i will try to be pills free and looking into natural medicine which is the best because there is no side-effects and natural medicine does cure you!!!
This is more valuable than gold!! I’m an exercise physiologist and I’ve witness the power of exercise everyday of my life with my clients! I also go for regular physio myself to prevent issues to begin with. Being proactive is key! I hope more medical professionals will start promoting this Drs approach! Good on him for challenging the status quo…
I agree. I love my physical therapists. I was in bad shape two years ago with dizziness and hip pain. I went to therapy for a few months, then started going to the local gym. I was highly motivated because I didn't want to live the rest of my life as a cripple. I've been going to the gym for a year and a half now, five days a week. I feel really good at 72! We're lucky here because our new physical therapy practice is very good. The one I went to twenty plus years ago was not good, lots of trying to force you to do more than you really could. A bad center can turn people off so quickly. I wish you well. I think you must do well with your patients.
Society has trained people to get immediate gratification and to be lazy. I hear people complain about how they cannot this or that because of their pain. What really gets me is when people say they simply cannot walk because of their back pain. Walking is one of the best things for back pain!!!
Doctors usually are not trained in nutrition. And many nutritionists lack the medical background. And as evident from this video many patients prefer medication over changing habits and quit smoking and drinking, get enough sleep, do regular exercise and eat healthy. And having said that I now grab an apple and go for a walk :-).
I love this guy! I now live with medical issues from being overprescribed antibiotics that apparently I never even needed. We need better doctors that don't just run off and prescribe meds
We need more doctors like him! In the US, preservatives in food, lack of exercise, and lack of awareness about gut health and parasites, I think, contributes to our obesity, mental health and pill popping mentality. I do anything I can to avoid antibiotics. My husband's children are prescribed antibiotics every time they have a cold....it makes me cringe. I am hopeful things change soon!
People that have never had surgery or experienced severe pain always bang on about pain relief.. We are extremely fortunate that we have pain relief available & can continue to work, or at least get about their daily life !!
@@trollsneedhugs I’m fortunate I take a very small amount of daily pain medication, combined with some others, I also see a pain specialist. I’ve suffered chronic pain off and on for 20 years after failed back surgery. Along with other medical issues.. I feel sorry for people who’s Drs won’t prescribe pain relief, it borders on criminal! 🇦🇺
Can confirm after shattering my collarbone in to five pieces that 40 minutes until the ambulance arrived were some of the most excruciating I have experienced, I would not have managed the week I had to wait until getting it pinned back together without pain relief
I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking pain relief - I think the problem comes with prolonged use of pain relief, I suppose once you get to that point you’re masking the problem and not looking for the root cause. Sometimes maybe nothing can be done, but I imagine in most cases there can be alternative forms of treatment……several years ago I had persistent back pain, which when at its worse, kept me off work. I eventually paid for treatment from a specialist who identified that the issue was caused by my left foot that over time had thrown my whole muscular skeletal system out of alignment. The treatment I had to correct that misalignment eventually solved my back problem - it’s been fine since.
When my ankle was broken so severely that it nerded titainium plate n screws the doc gave me pain pills for post surgery recovery. I got out of surgery at 7:30 pm and the pain got quite severe by 10 pm and I took one pain pill. It made me feel so bad I took no more ever again. Doc was amazed at my follow up visit. I just said I wanted to heal my leg not to become a pain pill junkie. Soon it became a challenge to me to just accept the pain and grow back to health and beat the ugly monster of the alternative pain pill junkie route
@@MilesCobbett that’s a cool anecdote, but you’re an exception to the rule, not the rule it self, it’s not unreasonable to expect people who are recovering from a traumatic injury to need some pain relief to get them through the first few weeks post op, that doesn’t make every one who uses them a “pain pill junkie”
As a nurse, I've seen patients who are on 20+ meds a day, many of the patients have not had their meds reviewed in years the dr just keeps adding meds, some have serious interactions with others.
Well as their nurse do you recommend that to the doctors. Many ppl not in health care just trust what Dr says and may assume they have to take meds forever so they don't mention it.
Well that's where the pharmacist comes in and immediately is to not only notify the patient but also the Dr and give other alternatives for the medication needed.
I had a rare disease that was killing me. At one time I was taking 21 different medications every day to keep me alive. No one was looking for the root cause of my problem, they were only treating the symptoms. Each one with a different medication. I had a brain tumor. If they would have found it I never would have needed any of those medications. And because it went unchecked for nearly 7 years I was left completely disabled and unable to work at 35 years old. I only take the medications that keep me alive. I don't care about any of the others anymore. I worked in public health and taught gardening for a living. I eat well and exercise. You'd never know by looking at me.
@Multorum Unum I'm alive and the tumor was successfully removed. Along with my entire pituitary gland and hypothalamus. It left me with alot of health issues. So I'm existing now. I don't call it living.
As an emergency RN I feel the same way, it makes me so sad to see my patients killing themselves with RX pills...I feel I’m helpless to this growing phenomenon 😢
Torree Kennedy it’s horrendous what they are giving us. I’m on 4 different psychiatric drugs ... there’s nothing bloody wrong with me except the brain damage the drugs have done . With exposure through the internet let’s hope younger generation won’t touch them 🤞
+Toree Kennedy I'm with you. Used to work in the OR..never saw anything there like what I saw in clinical practice. GP's are totally against chiropractic care that can resolve pain from spinal misalignments, that also cause tons of other problems in health. Ben there..done that! I only take vitamins now and occasional herbal teas.
After falling and breaking my dominant arm and surgical neck in 3 places, I refused pain medication in the ambulance and the ER. I was so glad to hear the orthopedic dr affirm my decision. At my 3 months out appt, he said that I had improved as much as what some people would only reach at 1 year out. I refuse pain medications and only use effective CPTG essential oils. Knowing which to select and which work for me best really helps, so I'm so grateful for the years of training I've had. I love being able to educate, empower, and coach others to begin making better choices for themselves too. Reflecting back on the time when insurance refused my migraine medications which led me to search for other things and hence my root cause approach to wellness began, I am so blessed for my journey. It only makes more sense of it when I get to share it with others and help them on their journey too.
@@lindajohnson2149 great story !! May I ask what are CPTG oils?? Also have u looked into cupping ?? A very common practise in my part of the world, I'm doing it to treat my varicose veins....

I absolutely love him taking a personal approach to health. I think GP surgery’s should definitely offer these for people who want or can get off medication and improve there lifestyle and well being.
RIGHT?! Plus supplementation. Most diseases stem from mineral deficiencies. I’m sticking around to see if they ever get around to touching on this...but so far I’m a little concerned it hasn’t been mentioned.
i has about to answer the same, i think the doctors are getting just the last fix to most of the problems, it start in nutrition and nutrition is part of the solution.
Anil Löeb I agree. I have a dead thyroid gland. No amount of nutritional tweaking of positive thinking will fix it. I need thyroid hormone and I will continue to take my drug. My attempt to kick-start my thyroid with kelp and micronutrients set off major heart arrhythmia and ectopic beating. I was very lucky to escape permanent heart damage. Likewise, migraine. I’ve done exclusion diets and kept a highly-detailed food, mood and pain diary. I was in a chronic pain clinic for eight months where I learned biofeedback techniques and autogenics. I took vitamin B2, evening primrose oil, St. John’s wort, valerian, magnesium, vitamin D...I’ve reduced my pain days to around 75/year, from 200. I’ve also been able to reduce the pain intensity from 10/10 to around 6/10 - on average. But the only thing that gives me relief from the pain is 5mg naratriptan + 375mg naproxen. Yes, there are side-effects from the meds: fatigue, dry mouth, light-headedness. What happens if I don’t take the pills? I get three days in a dark room, trying not to cry as wave after wave of pain crash in my skull, as violent bursts of coloured lights explode behind my eyes, as even the slightest noise sets tears pouring down my cheeks. For the first 24 hours, I’ll have vomiting and explosive diarrhoea. I’ll be off work for this time, and it’ll take me 3 days to get over the attack. So each headache costs me 6 days. This is far worse than three days of side-effects from my medication. The drugs allow me to go to work and have a life.
This is brilliant and should be taught at MEDICAL SCHOOL! Doctors are too easily distracted by drugs. They don't care to make suggestions to find the cause and therefore find a cure other than masking the pain.
After several heart attacks myself I was was put on the usual Regime of 'Poisons' by a new Pill Pusher doctor. After a monthly check he said "great, everything is perfect. I want you to keep 'using'. I said Doc I decided not to take any. I told him I even stopped Anti Depressants and I'm not suicidal anymore. He said well I want you to go back on them. WHY ??? EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT !!!
Because they'll be preventative. Your signs might be okay right now - but give it a while. Don't toy with your life like that and listen to your actual doctor - medical documentaries do not have to be factually accurate. We all know the deal with supersize me (results faked etc). What makes you trust this documentary over your own, licensed and practising, doctor?
Make sure your diet is absolutely on point and then start removing drugs one by one with a new doctor. Even if going off them is a good idea you need to have a doctor monitor it. Think of someone kicking severe cocaine or heroine... If they stop too fast they will die.

Great you trusted your gut feeling and did what felt right for you. Great you feel so many possitive effects of stopping taking pills. Love your story.
I think even three years later from this it highlights how many more doctors we need. Clearly the volume of patients that a GP has to see in a day is absolutely mad especially when you see how much more you can learn from someone after spending even 30 mins with them compared to 10-15. But the volume of people who need care compared to how many doctors there are makes this impossible, because doctors are humans and also deserve a life outside of work. The amount of detail and care that people truly need is so impossible considering the ratio of GPs to patients.
We need far fewer alloathic doctors. Bunch of arrogant idiots wgo do nothing but push poisons including vaccines. You want to be sick? Go to an allopath.
i think some of these doctors do care, but they succumb easily to pressure and maintaining the status quo/ their image than the actual patients; or they just can't fathom another way
Chris, I think this programme is amazing and I wish more people will watch it! I've learned a lot from it! And I keep telling my friends about you and especially mothers for young children that they must watch it! Your work is fantastic and I hope you will continue doing it!👏👏👏
My doctor is a Dr of Medicine and he threw the script pad away years ago and treats all ailments with diet adjustments and supplements. Works a treat, No drugs!!! Remember food is Medicine and medicine is food.
As an engineer I'm disgusted at how doctors dish out pills without getting to the root cause. We need AI to support the doctors to aid in identifying root causes. Treating symptoms is not the answer.
Allopathic doctors = the original quacks. Still quacking. In the 20s they used to give mercury as a cure for all sorts of ailments. 2019 there is mercury is the flu vaccines. Not much has changed, eh? Those with brains boycott allopath except for emergency trauma and neccesary surgeries.
The root cause is often the attitudes of society. They want the quick fix while not wanting to be disciplined and eat or excersise correctly to achieve a cure.
The problem is that the pharma companies are running the whole show. The guys in white coats are, quite literally, their drug dealers, and that is meant exactly as it sounds.
@serendipidous1, That's not true. Most people DON'T want a pill. They want an expert to tell them what their real options are and what risks are involved with each option. Most patients are able to make rational choices. Doctors and the medical field should never treat a patient as if they were stupid. The choice at the end of the day is the patient's. It's called "informed consent". However there is something more nefarious at work too. Big pharma is paying for their drug trials and coopting researchers to give favourable results to their trials. No negative results are ever published. This should be changed. Pros and cons should always be visible.
I actually take cold showers for this reason. I just like the way it feels and it always makes me feel better afterwards. I didn’t realise that there was actual science behind this.
I'm interested to watch more to see what he has to say. A lot of the comments mention that he didn't talk about diet/nutrition, so I'm curious to see if he does later. When I got diagnosed with diabetes, I followed the ADA's guidelines, which allowed me to eat 30 grams of carbohydrates twice a day. Yes, it brought my diabetes under control, but I wanted to do more than that. I wanted to get off my medication. I now eat 20 grams or less a day and my glucose level is in the normal range and I'm off my medication. So many diabetics I know prefer to take the medication so they can eat bread, pasta, rice, etc. They say to me, "I don't know how you can give up all that. You have amazing will power." I tell them it's not will power, it's a determination to be healthy. Undiagnosed diabetes almost killed me 11 years ago. Being in denial is not an option for me.
"It's important to say that some of these drugs do good. They save lives. They make you feel better. But they all can do harm, all of them." That is why they are drugs, not food (Don't forget even contaminated organic food can kill people). Use them wisely when you really need them, not completely avoid them.
I have ignored that and almost died. The biggest problem is that people go to the doctor when they don't have anything else to do. And the problem is serious. If they are just starting with some joint pain they could use a brace if they are just beginning with that joint pain or a cream or something simple. And not work and keep hurting v the joint until you need prednisone and not move the entire limb
Stop Stop with the 40 patients and giving 39 out prescription I Know when I go to see my Dr. It is because I'm not well or in Pain. THIS DOCTOR seems to me he is doing his job and a good one at that. He is LISTENING AND HEARING what his patients. I don't care if I went in feeling way under the weather sore throat and fever I would hope he'd give me something for it. If I went in to see him because of chronic pain I would hope he would give me something for it so I could be comfortable and go on with my life . It's so sad how society reacts to what's going on .I truly am sorry for all the lives we have lost with drugs and it is very sad . They made the decision to take it they didn't have to and the doctor is not the villain is there to help us I would hope in any
10 minutes per person and drugs to everyone? Glad I’m Norwegian. I’m at the doctor’s for at least 30 mins if I need to, sometimes even longer. I rarely get medicine when I’m there. This is insane.
Yet despite eating healthy food, nothing ever processed, and being fit and active, and meditating, I ended up with lupus. So actually, those things are not a guarantee of good health.
This man and his crusade is hugely impressive. I think though it needs saying that in some circumstances drugs are absolutely necessary. You can't just throw drugs out the window for everything. Diet also surely is an important factor.
Agree completely! Medications have their place, it’s finding the right individual balance, unfortunately doctors rarely have the time to meet with patients for the required time needed to evaluate the best route for each individual.
I am a pharm tech, I work in pharmacy and sell drugs. I am so overwhelmed of how drugs are abused and how easy dr prescribe. It’s a dirty business …very dirty.
The thing that I found crazy was when my Mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and her oncologist asked how many meds she was on and she said “just a daily vitamin”, the shock on his face was crazy to me! She was 56 at the time and the doctor was ready to write the list of meds she was likely to have been on 🤯
@@karendegenerous8044 depending on how you look at it, this is either obviously yes, or just completely false obviously patients should know more about how they’re feeling compared to the doctors since, you know, they’re the ones with the illness but if you are suggesting that patients know more about how to treat their illness compared to doctors, you are terribly mistaken

You are doing a great job searching for alternatives to drugs! I am 72 and take no medications. I have done yoga every morning since I was in my mid sixties and have always known that almost all illness is from our beliefs and perceptions about our inside world and our body expresses our feelings about all with illness. I found a great book, “Your Body Speaks Your Mind,” that really helped to understand the questions to ask yourself when you are in pain or are ill. Our body is made to heal, but we have lost this belief and want instant healing instead of being patient with letting our body do what it does best. Eating healthy foods helps, of course. The world as it is now and has been for some time is so full of stress and a lack of satisfying work and relationships that people often turn to eating what tastes good no matter how it affects their health. If you believe your body heals, then it does in most cases. Also, people don’t seem to understand that drugs affect your whole system and your organs in subtle but damaging ways. Anyway, again, so great that you made this video!!!!!!👍👍👍
This is GREAT! Medication is WAY over prescribed nowadays! A pill for every damn thing. Sometimes medication is needed, but giving people a pill for every little thing is just crazy. But hey, when there’s money to be made by the pharmaceutical companies, ya know? Edited for spelling
All of the doctors I've seen won't just give me antibiotics without a positive test first to make sure that's what I need.....I agree, we shouldn't be handed antibiotics like candy
As a doctor I lived with this pressure. People come to you and they expect to receive a prescription. They don’t accept leaving without some kind of medicine even if you tell them that they really don’t need it. Sometimes pacients were really mad cause I refused to give them something!! And many times I withdraw medicines they were taking. Well the pressure is really heavy over doctors. I know it first hand
I agree 100% with what he’s doing. I used to take pain killers almost every other day. I had headaches constantly for no reason. One day I stopped and tried to bare the pain, it wasn’t easy, but I have to say with months of practice my headache has decreased dramatically. Now I rarely take them. I hope people will try this method, because it really helped me.
This documentary supports what I love the health adventist message, which I discovered three years ago. They have 8 laws of health, which at the moment I'm trying to implement to my chronic pain and gastrointestinal issues
Im at 34:00 and im so glad i declined antidepressants each time I was prescribed them because this is evidence that they dont work. And because I declined them i had to dig myself out of that depression by finding the cause. I discovered my depression is usually due to hormone imbalance and mineral deficiency because I have IBS bad gut bacteria
Very interesting story and I agree 100% with him - my question would be - how many Dr Chris’s are out there to treat patients one on one? I work for a very busy practice (7 full time Physicians and 3 full time FNP’s) we allow 15 minutes per patient but pretty much the first part with Dr Cam is how it is. The concept is perfect but I don’t see enough Physicians willing to make house calls or go swimming.

I went to a doctor, got the 15 minute consult and prescription. The nurse came in afterwards and asked me what was going on in my life, the stresses, wrote down a list of books to read- basically showing me I had to be my own advocate and researcher. I had to take responsibility. Bless her heart.
Being your advocate! I actually told everybody at work today about this video. I see first hand the prescriptions handed out everyday. And the fine line between saying ‘no’ or giving those prescriptions. I’m at an Oncology Practice which makes the pain medication prescriptions are unbelievable. Our Physicians no longer write for the pain meds - there is pain management and palliative care for that. The newest biggest debate now is everybody wants a marijuana card. Your thoughts on that????? I get in our business people have cancer - but I have family that also had cancer and never took a single pain medication. I myself had a bilateral mastectomy so I would not get cancer. I had nine reconstructive surgeries due to infections. I had a PICC line for 6 weeks. I do not believe for one minute those antibiotics helped me. Why do I say that? Because not one single time did any culture reveal a bacterial infection in my body. I don’t understand your degree in Britain - a GP is a General Practitioner? What is that? I heard in the video that your had been in practice for 14 years yet where you were doing this at DR Cam was a specialist? Just being curious! Hats off to you. I love your effort and like I said I talked about this video all day today. I think that our world needs a lot of Dr Chris’s. 🌼🌸🌼🌸 ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
I hate when I mess up my words in reply’s! I meant 👍🏻 to being your own advocate ! 👍🏻 I remind patients daily that they need to make their voices heard. I am a firm believer that prescriptions are handed out because it’s simple - it’s fast and you lower the risk of being sued. My parents raised us 4 children that antibiotics were only for those that are really sick - colds and flus will run their course in 7-10days - don’t panic - just rest and stay hydrated. I wouldn’t even take baby aspirin as a child as I hated the way they smelled. Okay - I’m rambling now - but this video should go viral. Every effort to help the crisis is a positive move.
CindiLeeCusimano CindiLee. Thank you for your advoction! I'm in BC Canada. I would any day get Medicinal Cannabis any day over Rx's.... But I have an incurable diseases??? starting with Fibromyalgia! Seriously bad back pain & no longer able to stand or walk for 5 minutes & my Shoulder have torn rotator cuffs, had surgery! Surgery & injections no help! Insane amount of pain?¿¿?
I was in my early thirties when my GP thought not to prescribe antibiotics for a viral infection. I ended up in hospital with pneumonia. Another friend of mine in his 40s also developed a bad case of pneumonia after docs in the UK refused to prescribe antibiotics. Antibiotics are not the root of the problem. They are a good invention that can indeed prevent more serious illnesses.
Hi, antibiotics are only for bacterial infections. If your infection was confirmed to be viral, antibiotics would have no effect. Most viral infections eg the common cold or flu tend to go away on their own without the need of any medication. Sorry you had that experience
antibiotics are NOT only for bacterial infections. Most antibiotics have additional anti-inflammatory effects on the body useful in fighting other diseases, besides the ability to kill bacteria
Some people have a terrible time coming off antidepressants. I was on antidepressants for years and decided to go cold turkey. After three days I had night sweats, nightmares, muscle cramps and anxiety so bad I was going crazy like someone coming off heroin. I still did not want to take any more medication. There was a lady working in the local chemist in the natural therapies section. She grabbed a bottle and said "here take this three times a day for a couple of months." I thought you have to be joking, this is serious. I took three tables morning noon and night. I woke up the next morning and felt completely normal and continued to feel completely normal for the two months I was on them. Then after two months I stopped taking the tablets and nothing changed. The antidepressants were completely out of my system and the natural stuff eliminated the withdrawal symptoms. Don't need antidepressants and didn't need to taper of them. The tablets were called Kava Calm and they worked.
I wish we had more doctors like him! I deal with all kinds of issues daily. Because I hate going to doctors and I don't trust they know what thier prescription drugs are actually doing! Keep at it!
Ten minutes to access and treat a patient, there is the problem right there, and it is so easy to resolve for most. This large practice needs to divide their patients into groups of common problems, ie type II diabetes, heart problems, blood pressure etc then hold mini seminars in their practice so they can address, educate and encourage better alternatives for the group as a whole, as it is obvious this is not ever going to happen in a 10 minute appointment. This doctor deals with inflammatory diseases, so the first thing to address is what they are eating. Even putting people of a fast will provide better results than any drug, of which all interfere with the body's own normal function. Fasting will lower insulin for a start, which is the basis of most inflammatory conditions. To keep insulin levels low and improve general health, all sugar needs to be stopped, and carbohydrates should only be obtained from vegetables. Some form of Keto diet or even a careful vegetarian diet would improve every chronic disease they treat, and reverse them for many. This is symptom treating at its worse. No attempt has been made to address the cause, which can only be, our food, environment and medication. The medical profession is out of order.
I totally agree with you. On the other hand some people might say: " you mean give up food for 12hrs or more?!" "Change my diet, give up sweets, chips and burgers?!" "Now that's just sacrilege!" "Just give the drugs and I'll deal with the consequences later". It's a sad truth but let's take a look around us. We see more unhealthy people than healthy ones. Unfortunately it's only going to get much worse. It's predicted by the year 2050 1in 2 will be obese, and 1 in 3 will be diabetic. Do you think the big pharmaceutical companies are a bit concerned about our health? Absolutely NOT!! All they care about is how much deeper their pockets are gonna get, all thanks to our weak willpower. I refuse to be an static, by modifying my lifestyle slightly, only eat treats once a month or on special occasions, do cardio 5 days a week(nothing too strenuous) and eat two meals a day or less with a 12hrs + window.
So proud of you! I'm on the same path now!!
Keep up the great job!
Bravo

We keep trying different drugs until we find the right one."
I finally found a new doctor who takes pride in de-prescribing whenever possible.
A huge part of the issue is forcing doctors to 10-15 minutes appointments. How can you determine what’s really wrong. It forces them to manage symptoms with prescriptions. It’s not holistic. It’s the same here in the US.
People want pills plain and simple.

You know it
It took me multiple doctors here in the USA, plus tons of tests and appointments before I finally found the cause of all my health problems.
@@builtontherockhomestead9390 Good question. Many clear-thinking doctors think 90% could be dealt with through diet and exercise.
Thank you for sharing...I have a similar story.
Wow I know this was a year ago… but I am having women’s health issues and been to many specialist and doctors … if you don’t mind sharing what was the problem you were experiencing?
Wow 👌
The REAL problem is the "10 mins per patient." That is a bunch of malarkey b/c no doctor can know a patient in 10 mins.
And sometimes new doctor after new doctor on continuing consultations, no way can any sort of proper patient/doctor rapport be built up this way resulting in more pills been thrown at problems which clearly doesn't work and only exasperates problems on a wider scale both socially and medically
they are actually lucky to have 10 min /patient because most of developing country doctor get only 1 min / patient
do you realize that the doctor in the video also took no more than 10 min, not to mention lack of access of patient history?
i cried when i saw Sarah smiling and feeling so alive while swiming, hope she gets well, she and her kid deserve the best.
I face an uphill battle trying to provide alternative therapies to patients that do not just involve prescription medications. Dealing with the root of the problem and educating patients takes time but I do see progress. We need more physicians like this and the government should really start to take note. Chris, phenomenal work- the world needs more like you
Sounds unproven to me
Heck, the government is in on it.
10 minutes for a consult is part of the problem as a starting point
I was thinking the same thing
Spot on!

Here I lay with a shattered spine,
denied diagnose / treatment for the 100th time,
1 doctor, 2 doctors, 3 and then 4, my specific complaints all ignored,
1 Hospital, 2 Hospitals, 3 and then 4, are there any real doctors around here anymore,
My request for MRI, to diagnose the injury, the reason for pain,
Is met with denial and denial again,
3 years pass in the blink of an eye,
No CT scan or MRI;
Finally in pain an MRI is ordered,
but not for spine,
just for my shoulder,
the ortho surgeon requests funds 4 surgery
but this is denied by WCB.
I am told once the surgery for shoulder is done,
My back pain will disappear, it will be gone,
Then I’m labelled a malingering faker behind my back,
From a doctor whose obviously a boneheaded quack,
I beg for help as I’m in severe pain,
but bottles and bottles of pills, are given again,
a new doctor states he’s already been warned,
so no tests are ordered, and I’m shown the door,
Another assessment paid by WCB,
4 doctors opinion just more physiotherapy,
I’m given exercises and stretches to due,
A Psych evaluation comes out of the blue.
In physiotherapy my back starts to spasm,
electric shocks and pain you cannot fathom,
a new doctor orders a x-ray at last,
and diagnoses my broken back,
Then a MRI is finally given,
followed by a retired neurosurgeon for opinion,
10 recommendations he made for rehabilitation,
Denied everything with WCB legislation,
My injury claim closed, benefits terminated,
Multiple complaints of severe pain not investigated.
3 more years pass in the blink of an eye,
my specific complaints are all denied,
At last, I receive a physical examination,
My complaint of pain is investigated,
Oh here is the problem, which was missed,
another spinal injury, the doctor insists.
That’s 9 years ago, when I finally received,
a proper diagnosis of my work injury,
But here I lay with a shattered spine,
denied medical care by WCB every time.

She was lethargic, slow and one eye was katywhompas - I knew it was the Dilantin. Sooo little by little mama weaned her off. My little girl became bright again and to date she has never had a seizure! She’s 29 years old!
God bless you for adopting your daughter.

Can I ask which pain medication u were on?
Thank you for sharing your experience with the pills and your previous addiction, and i'm very proud of you for getting off meds. There is something really hard to do! This is the reason why I don't take medication for anything. Even if i'm in pain, it will pass, but I always tell everyone that doctors don't cure people they are great to prescribed lots of meds and never cure you or get to the source of the problem and why this is happening to us! Because every pill comes with more side-effects and most of the time is worse than the one you are suffering from, so for as long as I can, i will try to be pills free and looking into natural medicine which is the best because there is no
side-effects and natural medicine does cure you!!!

I would be interested in what people are eating if I was a doctor. I know my mood is seriously changed depending on what I eat.
I've said that for the longest!! And certain foods HEAL conditions better!!🐞
Doctors usually are not trained in nutrition. And many nutritionists lack the medical background. And as evident from this video many patients prefer medication over changing habits and quit smoking and drinking, get enough sleep, do regular exercise and eat healthy.

Yes, I see that as well. Very alarming!
I had a rare disease that was killing me. At one time I was taking 21 different medications every day to keep me alive. This whole story warmed my heart! May God bless this man for striving against the norm, and being brave enough to do what is right!
As an emergency RN I feel the same way, it makes me so sad to see my patients killing themselves with RX pills...I feel I’m helpless to this growing phenomenon 😢
do some thing. you know it. just let them take it.
I really appreciated the doctor who opened his door and openly discusses and leave space. This is really brave and fruitful for us to understand the medical view. Priceless! Thanks
He actually visits the patients at their homes... Awww🥺🥺🥺🥺
Haha They’re all getting cash for it.
Surprised by the lack of diet and nutrition talk in this, why do doctors ignore the impact of this on health?!
Because they don't know anything about human body, they are pill distributors who brainstormed the syllabus in university,
Because that's what they're taught, they treat symptoms, not sickness itself
Because they are not taught nutrition.
There is no money in curing people by telling them to eat better...
EAT ORGANIC
I absolutely love him taking a personal approach to health. I think GP surgery’s should definitely offer these for people who want or can get off medication and improve there lifestyle and well being.
Three words: Nutrition, nutrition and nutrition.
Totally agree with you let food be thy medicine.
RIGHT?! Plus supplementation. Most diseases stem from mineral deficiencies. I’m sticking around to see if they ever get around to touching on this...but so far I’m a little concerned it hasn’t been mentioned.
i has about to answer the same, i think the doctors are getting just the last fix to most of the problems, it start in nutrition and nutrition is part of the solution.
and exercise, love, positivity, sleep too!
I like the man's honesty. Very rare these days.
I'm perfectly happy to see my g.p., tell her my issue, get an explanation, reassurance, some advice, and go home empty-handed. Perfectly content.
A doctor telling the truth at last. Oh I wish there were more doctors like this man. Docors need urgently to get out of the clutches of big pharma
Amen!!!
This is brilliant and should be taught at MEDICAL SCHOOL! Doctors are too easily distracted by drugs. They don't care to make suggestions to find the cause and therefore find a cure other than masking the pain.
"Doctors are too easily distracted by drugs." That's what it is, that's perfectly said.
The awesome thing about this doc is he’s questioning, it’s a great start and will lead him in the right direction.
Katherine K Impossible to find doctors now, who haven't 'Sold Out' to the Drug Companies that train them. Been over 2yr now drug free except for Panadol ocassionally. No suicidal intentions.

This doctor is Diamond. He should be nominated as one of the ethical, honest doctors of all time.
This is simply a brilliant channel, thanks to everyone who's made it possible ❣️These are REAL NEWS 🥰
Medicines do serve a purpose and it isn't safe to completely shunt them, I myself absolutely will not take meds until its absolutely necessary.
We need more Doctors like this guy, someone who cares about the?patients
We need far fewer alloathic doctors. Bunch of arrogant idiots wgo do nothing but push poisons including vaccines. You want to be sick? Go to an allopath.
Then save up the approximate £50 trillion so each Dr can do that.
i think some of these doctors do care, but they succumb easily to pressure and maintaining the status quo/ their image than the actual patients; or they just can't fathom another way

Amazing work. This man deserves a medal.

My doctor is a Dr of Medicine and he threw the script pad away years ago and treats all ailments with diet adjustments and supplements.
Works a treat, No drugs!!!
Remember food is Medicine and medicine is food.
Great Doctor. God Bless You. May more people recovered without drugs.
I love how empathetic and understanding he was with the 24 year old saying no you are normal
AI? Lol no, that will be FAR worse!
Check out the Wim Hoff( I think that’s how it’s spelled) method. He’s all about cold water.
I heard that the Swedish do it to and after sauna, so I started it years ago
I know a doctor who never ever takes medications himself. Like never, never ever.
Www mrt Elken.com
This video needs so much more attention.
"It's important to say that some of these drugs do good. They save lives. They make you feel better. But they all can do harm, all of them." That is why they are drugs, not food (Don't forget even contaminated organic food can kill people). Use them wisely when you really need them, not completely avoid them.
Very sensible comment.
I do believe he mentioned that at the beginning of this video
Yes!
They made the decision to take it they didn't have to and the doctor is not the villain is there to help us I would hope in any
I always have refused those drugs and hey! I’m still alive @83 and actually quite healthy.
Diet, exercise, sleep, minimizing stress. Those are the keys to solving most health problems in post-industrial societies.
Good luck with sleep and stress tho. Most of jobs wont let you relax :D
10 minutes per person and drugs to everyone? Glad I’m Norwegian. I’m at the doctor’s for at least 30 mins if I need to, sometimes even longer. I rarely get medicine when I’m there. This is insane.
These are the keys to good health.
1. Eating the right healthy nutritious food.
2. Solid Exercise
3. Meditation
Yet despite eating healthy food, nothing ever processed, and being fit and active, and meditating, I ended up with lupus. So actually, those things are not a guarantee of good health.
Kitty Jones the kind of energy you create within you and project is the 4th factor.
OMG. You're a genius.
I would add enough sleep at night, fasting, and prayers with gratitude
Schedules for sleeping properly and for meals
I viewed this program 2018 this Dr needs a medal for the courage to try and help people to reduce the amount of pills the public take each day .
I think he says that
I am a pharm tech, I work in pharmacy and sell drugs.
She was 56 at the time and the doctor was ready to write the list of meds she was likely to have been on 🤯
.
Yeah when you hit 50+ that’s all doctors go by to order test and prescribe drugs …$$ based on age regardless of other factors
This makes me livid! So what if a patient insists on antibiotics. If a doctor knows it is unnecessary, just say no, for heaven sake!
I’ve got an answer for you in the UK. Most patients knoW more than their doctors.
@@karendegenerous8044 depending on how you look at it, this is either obviously yes, or just completely false
obviously patients should know more about how they’re feeling compared to the doctors since, you know, they’re the ones with the illness
but if you are suggesting that patients know more about how to treat their illness compared to doctors, you are terribly mistaken
What an eye-opening video. Cheers !!!

Had neck and shoulder pain for years from work. Doctor prescribed physical training. Went to the regular gym instead. 100 % pain free.
I’m surprised that our masters, the drug industry, allowed this documentary.....
Gotta love how drugs that treat headaches give you a worse headache
As a doctor I lived with this pressure. People come to you and they expect to receive a prescription. They don’t accept leaving without some kind of medicine even if you tell them that they really don’t need it. Sometimes pacients were really mad cause I refused to give them something!! And many times I withdraw medicines they were taking.
Well the pressure is really heavy over doctors. I know it first hand
He seems more like a true friend
I agree 100% with what he’s doing. I used to take pain killers almost every other day. I had headaches constantly for no reason. One day I stopped and tried to bare the pain, it wasn’t easy, but I have to say with months of practice my headache has decreased dramatically. Now I rarely take them. I hope people will try this method, because it really helped me.
Drink water with a pinch of salt. Does the trick every time
This documentary supports what I love the health adventist message, which I discovered three years ago. They have 8 laws of health, which at the moment I'm trying to implement to my chronic pain and gastrointestinal issues

Nutrition. Exercise. Hydration. Music. Always.
good job! thank you
Some people have a terrible time coming off antidepressants.
It is not safe to cold turkey off many drugs!!!
No one in this went cold turkey, it's literally shown that they were tapered off.
Binkle Babe
only the nice drugs
It's also not safe to be on all those drugs in the first place.
Not safe at all to stay on them also.
I wish we had more doctors like him! I deal with all kinds of issues daily. Because I hate going to doctors and I don't trust they know what thier prescription drugs are actually doing! Keep at it!
I tried to go cold turkey on my anxiety medication (lyrica), but then I learned how addicted I am to them. wonderful...
We absolutely need more.like him! I love this...Where has he been all this time? I want to meet him!
This is the best advice here.
