@@ThePizzaEater1000 Yea, I've tried, and unfortunately they just don't work that well, even on audio files that only use simple piano like this one
This is unbelievably good! When you played stages 1 and 2, I was spectic of how stage 3 would sound like, since you use a piano, which cannot exactly reprise most sounds you hear in stage 3. Yet when I heard back there Benjamin, I was immediately hooked. I never thought I would call a song bad as a compliment, but that is a pretty fitting word, I think. It still sounds decent, but very messed up and all over the place. Not only did you manage to make the notes of all the pieces sound correct, which is especially impressive in later songs, but you also managed to capture the feeling of the songs very well. Maximum respect!
Also that acoustic cover of Seger Ellis' heartaches was absolutely beautiful! Hope to hear more of your singing ^^
Thank you so much! You've verbalized exactly what I've tried to do throughout this series. It's been my policy to pretty much only use the limited MIDI piano I have and really stretch what I can do with it to represent the sounds in the album.
Let's see if it holds up in later stages too :D

@@FikretX If you ever want to retry the visuals, you may want to use an mp3 to midi converter. They aren’t very accurate, but they give a very good starting point, and weed out a large amount of work.

Ever since I heard the first 2 I've been waiting for these so hard, and god have you delivered fast and well for this being such a loaded stage. "Bewildered in other eyes is rendered so incredibly well here, even though it's so short. "long term dusk glimpses", an empty bliss beyond this world" and "drifting time misplaced" too. All of them are, really. So sorry to hear about the midi loss, but thank you for the hard work you have still shared with us

Glad you appreciated the bonus. I agree about the volume - I think it was TH-cam that automatically recalibrated it when I uploaded. Since I'm working on restoring the MIDI visualization and score, when I release the new version, I'm gonna make sure to remedy that.

I’m curious; how did it feel playing Burning Despair Does Ache after playing its more coherent counterpart(What Does It Matter How My Heart Breaks)? Did it feel like you had to unlearn the song a little to play it? Was it confusing to change your hand movements to distort parts of the melody while keeping others?
Also, I really like your Heartaches cover at the end! Deserves more appreciation 👏

Actually, all the songs are composed digitally through MIDI. I don't currently have access to a piano, and I don't know if my actual playing skills are at the level yet to play all these songs (although I do make sure to make them theoretically playABLE by a human with 2 normal-sized hands haha).
Hopefully I'll remember to answer your question properly when I do get the chance to play these in real life :P

Have you tried any data recovery tools to get back the midi files? If you haven't, you could try looking into them. One time, a software called Recuva worked miracles when I accidentally deleted a folder of old photos.
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll work in this case - I basically opened the file, deleted all its contents (to put some other stuff in there), and pressed Save because I thought it was a copy, but it turns out it was the original. GarageBand files are so big that the program doesn't keep older versions

It sucks that the visuals got deleted but I’m glad you stuck with it. How do you plan on doing the stages from now on? The territory you’re going into really blends together so I’m wondering how you’ll be able to make it distinct
I think I'm gonna pull apart some specific parts of the songs that I felt like were distinctive enough and then blend them all together. Or something like that. We'll see

Any way you still got the midi files or can remake them because I used these to learn the songs.
I have an older version from a March 1st backup, but that's when only a few songs were completed. Other than that, I'm gonna have to listen to everything and redo it all note by note.
