As a Mexican follower, I feel so happy seeing you try things in my country. Knowing your issues with texture and flavor you used to have it’s amazing you liked most of what you’ve tried. Hoping to see a new video trying Mexican cuisine 🤗
When she gets excited her thoughts overlap. So when she's speaking its like 2 3 people talking together. Its cute ... her not able to finish a thought n feeling anothrr 😂😂
If no one has had a chance to explain, the bread you were eating in the large container is called pan dulce or sweet bread. The texture is like that because they’re supposed to be eaten with coffee. The ones that had the markings on top are called conchas, meaning shells. I think they’re supposed to look like turtle shells. The cajeta is pronounced with a hard h sound as opposed to the j, similar to how you would pronounce the x when you say Mexico in Spanish. It’s basically a caramel made with goat’s milk. Hope this helps!!
In some southern states/regions, like Veracruz, they are called Bombas (Bombs). I've never been to Yucatán, but I wouldn't be surprised if they too called them bomba.
It's interesting to me that every country has different fllavour preference, like Taz said in Mexico they love chilli and lime, in Poland where I grew up most popular sweet flavour would be strawberry and cherry, so I thought that is default for the whole world, but when I went to Japan I noticed that Japanese love banana and melon flavour, and also grape flavour the most, and they also consider red bean paste to be sweet and suitable for desserts (which I don't agree with haha).
Watching Taz’s videos on her vacation to Mexico made me realized that USA really like to portray Mexico as a rundown, third world country with drugs and sex trafficking issues when it clearly isn’t - seeing is believing, don’t believe everything you read and hear from the media nowadays. Definitely would put Mexico on my visiting bucket list now.
Maybe I'm biased because I'm mexican but I can tell you that Mexico is an incredible country, plus it's very diverse and you can find almost anything here. Of course insecurity problems and narcos are a prevalent issue but these problems are the most important in some specific states.
Mexican fan here! Tostadas de atún is an actual girl dinner, along with the quesadillas. I’m so happy you came to Mexico. you should visit northern Mexico, which are completely different from the places you’ve been.
The first bread is called conchas the first one is chocolate and the Second one was vanilla, the 3rd one is an oreja (ear) the 4rd one is called cuernito Personally I like to make them as sandwich, the last one is called bisquets, its more like an old people bread.
13:08 Concha de Chocolate, 13:21 Concha de Vainilla, 13:38 Oreja, 13:57 cuernito, 14:19 Bísquet, ..all of them better with a coffee or a chocolate drink. Try Bísquet sliced in half with chihuahua or quesillo cheese and "ate de membrillo"
Yo empecé a ver tus videos desde tus inicios para practicar inglés, cuando hacías los videos de comer con menos dinero y como hacías meals prep, jamás pensé verte en México, espero disfrutes tu estancia. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
My favorite Mexican salty snacks are Jambo's chili lime plantain chips. Those things are addictive! From my experience, most good Mexican grocers in America will have them.
This comment will probably get lost in the sea of comments, but I’d like to give you my recipe for tostadas de atún, as a Mexican myself. 🤓 You can add mayonnaise to the tuna, also a little tiny bit of mustard. You can add a variety of canned vegetables, such as peas, corn, carrots and mushrooms. You can also add canned jalapeños, as well as some of the jalapeño vinegar that comes in the can, for a bit of spiciness. You can eat it with tostadas, totopos, saladitas or even chips. And there you go, you got a girl dinner right there. 😂
The cajeta is pronounced some like "cahaeta". It's a kind of sweet sauce made of milk and is typical of Mexico even though it is known in some other countries as "dulce de leche"
The piece you chose as tuna is not, it is called "xoconostle" (pronounced "shoconostle) it has a very acidic flavor and is used to make some dishes such as beef stew with vegetables. The tuna is a very sweet and refreshing fruit that is eaten by biting it or blended in water, adding a little sugar, then if you want you can use a strainer to remove the seeds that are hard, they can be eaten but it is not customary to consume them in water. La pieza que elegiste como tuna, no lo es, tiene por nombre "xoconostle" (se pronuncia shoconostle) tiene un sabor muy acido y se usa para elaborar algunos platillos como cosido de carne de res con vegetales. La tuna es un fruto muy dulce y refrescante que se consume mordiendo o se licua en agua, agregando un poco de azúcar, después si se desea se puede usar un colador para eliminar las semillas que son duras, se pueden comer pero en agua no se acostumbra consumirlas.
Ouch, you pic up the tuna (cactus fruit) and it has a lot of of micro spikes, for cooking cactus, put on fire a pan, then slice cactus and leave a middle fire with little spoon of oil, when slime dissapear and sticks change color are ready to add onion, garlic, tomato, salt and pepper...
TBH, whenever I have traveled overseas I usually buy wine, beer and liquor at grocery stores due to the prices being lower and the exchange rates being more favorable when paying with credit card.
Hi, that's big fan here . Um, today we had an assembly in my school and u were it. I felt so 🎉 and I am really happy as since I struggle with ,mental health it was good thx so much❤ Hope u lots of success, in the future

I can’t afford subscription, a turbo, nor do I have the space in my house to set it up. My local club puts a lot of rides on zwift instead when the weather is bad in winter, replacing outdoor ones. So I can’t join. I love cycling but it’s so inaccessible on a low income
Brit here- our tuna is most commonly in tins (you can get it in brine, spring water, or sunflower oil) then to eat you drain first. I've seen frozen tuna steaks too (theres probably fresh as well in some supermarkets I don't go to) but never had non tinned tuna😅
@@lisaquince710 the packets here in the states took off like a decade ago because they are easy for lunch packing but they cost more for less food. They have flavors though which is nice. Chicken comes the same way. I'm sure the package it's put in is regulated in the UK since they care about their residents health more. Ha

I love when she was running out time, her voice/words went fast-forward instead of her hands and feet 😂😂.
If you are not going to buy... please do not touch, grab, squeeze, peel or pinch fruits or vegetables or anything else... it is a matter of hygiene...
“Put it down taz” 😂😂😂
13:38 the buns are called "conchas", the heart shaped one is called "orejita" (my favvv), the one that looks like a croissant its a "cuernito" !!

The US likes to portray everywhere else in the world as a sh**hole to make itself look good.
You right

as a Mexican both can be right, as a Lovely and beautiful place to visit and also has his very bad Cartel side.
It's all right, we see the USA the same way

Taz going through every accent of the uk and not even meaning too 😂😂
I just looked it up and the "tuna" fruit is prickly pear from a prickly pear cactus
Yeah, it was the one the person behind the camera told her to put down when she was looking at veg.
My grandkids are all obsessed with Takis. Thankfully Poundland now stock them.
Mexican takis are seasoned different (better in my opinion). They are not the same in Europe 😢
@@lougo44well mexican takis are the original so ofc it would taste different (takis are from Mexico)
being mexican and seeing you like my favorite candy made me so happy T_T
Guava is delicious! We have it in puerto rico in a lot of pastries and food. You should come visit ❤
ohh your editing style has changed a bit and I am loving this new style!!!!!
She looks Mexican, she'll blend in perfectly there.
Taz, if you buy young mango , slice it thinly & mixed it with some sambals. Give a fresh kicks to your rice meal.

You only left a can of vegetables, and that's the typical tuna salad, delicious!

When she said she only had 15 mins I was hoping it was more of a supermarket sweep situation.
When she said
"The supermarket is called Sorriana"
I literally said out loud
"That's what Elsa said"
Laughing at my own joke 😭
Little bit surreal that not long ago Taz was in Yucatan, which is now on alert for the Milton Hurricane. Hoping Yucatan stays safe!
The saladitas you were eating, try those with the same tuna mayo you had the day before, they go hard together

Salsa habanera guacamaya está deliciosa y me gusta acompañarla con filete de pescado empanizado y galletas saladas
The mexican bread with sugar on top are Conchas!
I love this new style of editing
Add yellow canned corn to the tuna and you have a great meal 😁
fun fact about Boing! in Mexico you have tacos with boing! more than with coca cola, (I love the guava one).
Falso
You should go, in case you have not, to City Market and/or Chedraui Select. I consider these to be better than Soriana...
This kind of video about Mexican's super markets, now in English.
Yep, that is a "Mexican girl dinner" look like 😂
I LOVE TAZ
Only in Mexico I have found 3 liter Coca Cola, love it
Omggg Tazzz! I have the exacttt same ring that you wear on your index finger! Yayyy!!!
I wonder how she makes friends from all over the world! Like I wonder how she met this group of Mexicans from the uk?😅
