I kinda wish you showed the reassembly process. I really enjoy non-standard PC builds. I think it's interesting to watch you figuring it out as you go.
I would NOT watch a long version. In fact, I think this was 10 minutes too long. If I'm going to build one myself, I'll "figure it out as I go", thank you very much. In fact, I would want that for ME.
At first I was worried that the power board will have upright power connectors (like the 2 extra pairs of EPS at the top) and because the MOBO has a 90 deg. connectors, the awesome cables Singularity provided will be too long (thought it's designed for a normal MOBO), but then I saw the connectors on the power board are 90 deg. as well so it means the cables will make a 180 to the MOBO and it made me so happy! As happy as Jay was when he saw the short cables 😂 I love the enthusiastic attention to details in this build! It's gonna turn out AMAZING!! 😍
This is going to sound moderately insane, but I think this build would be a perfect opportunity to get wild with copper. I can see big copper rads on this, and it's amazing in my mind.
@@ElembeeOfficial I'm sure Jay would only want to go with radiators, and tube fitting accents. But in my mind, and for a long time, I've wanted to do a build soldering four bundled up refrigerator supply lines into 1/2" angled fittings, to where it looks similar to header tubes on a hot rod, both on the intake, and return to resemble that classic V8 style. You could even make a solid copper distro block that drops off both ends of a radiator and splits to 4 smaller lines, on either end. Again, this is just in my mind, and not something I've shared or seen. But just to put it out into the aether. I might add, that process is shockingly easy to do, if you've ever worked with those tubes. Though, it definitely requires a certain finesse with a hammer to shape the fittings. I dunno, just things honkies build in their minds when work is slow, I reckon.
@@jazazzaza I just find natural metals kind of sexy. I think the only way to get the gold look without paint would be to use leaf, which is just too fiddly for me. If you wanted to do the chemistry homework, I guess you could substitute bronze though. I'm just not sure how that would act in a loop, I know it will oxidize green crud without any additive though. But I think you can get a nice 'rose gold' look out of copper, with very minimal extra work. I like to use just an old rag, and coffee, starting from a raw polish, and lock it in with a little clear coat to keep it from going brown. Just recently did this with my basement bathroom plumbing. You can play with the antiquing with just a few pennies, and an eraser, till you get the desired color. It's surprising how large of a range you can get.
That was the moment where i thought back to the beginning of the video where Jay asked what he does while waiting... And realize he doesnt need doof and doofus actually.. but thats just my opinion.
I am grateful for companies like Singularity, PPCs etc... helping keep the hobby alive and especially Singularity with these cool innovations. Back when I started water cooling I could only dream of products like this.
I've got a suggestion for the screws: use nail polish for matching the color of the Kingpin theme; it is very resilient, it sticks very well and it shines more if you add nail clear lacquer. I used it when I refurbished my front door for the latches and screws and it looks the business. I only clings on to metal, don't use it on plastic or glass, it will peel off with ease.
Jay, I thoroughly enjoy all of your content here; but I absolutely love watching you plan and build. Plus, the affirmation for companies that are pumping out good products is great.
I still think it would be cool to disassemble an old EVGA CLC 360/240 AIO, or the new CLCx one. You could keep the rad/fans and maybe even the block with some new tubing as a custom loop. would also be a cool video to show how you can repurpose old broken AIOs where maybe just the pump is dead but the rads are still perfectly fine and can still be used.
This is shaping up to be one of the coolest, cleanest, most thought out builds ever. I love the theme. Cant wait to see the next video on it. Nice work Jay.
Looks amazing aside from all the grey/silver on the motherboard. I know it's part of the style etc but the mobo's like the NZXT ones where they're all covered in the matte finish look sublime
If you aren't happy with the distro being clear you could try some of that fairly realistic looking carbon fiber vinyl wrap. It wouldn't be gloss like the rest of the chassis but you could shoot clear plasti-dip on top of the wrap followed by a regular acrylic clear once the dip is completely dry.
Hey JAY I think that you should put a bracket for the rad to keep the mount from bowing and add an EVGA logo in the middle to give it a special touch. I think that some Noctua NF-F12 fans would look fantastic in the build. you could get Noctua to make an EVGA gold vibration dampener set for the fans to give it an accent. If you can get EK to do custom fittings you could get some EVGA gold fittings to keep the same accent all the way through the build. I would try to see if EVGA could maybe make a water block for the CPU kind of like the EVGA AIO CLC series blocks or get a company to make an EVGA logo CPU block with the inlet at the top of the E and an outlet at the bottom. I think the idea with the black frosted tubing would be perfect for the build. I think this is my favorite build yet. Keep up the great work!
The idea about the screwdriver being the same size as the standoffs is genius. I was putting a board in two days ago and tried the same thing. First thing that crossed my mind was that it would be awesome if it were that simple. LINUS!!
My OCD totally approves this cabling stuff. While I am not a fan of blinky builds, imagine if the black frame is not just black but a semi-transparent one and tubes are placed inside it with some deep orange, lava looking liquid.
This is s fascinating build to watch coming together. Jay mentioned dust possibly being an issue, cos it is just so open. So outside of being a technological piece of art, how does one deal with dust, what is the deal with cooling when its just so open? How does airflow work on a build like this? What needs to be considered?
Jay, If you do fan lighting (I’m thinking white lighting) it will be down cast lighting and would look phenomenal. Very stealth looking as everything will be lit from above.
Oh, my ocd is so happy!! Beautiful!! Truly wish I had the knowledge to make this build!! When you do these amazing builds, may we please get a printable parts list? Would be very helpful in building one ourselves.
I have a Corsair 5000X and despite the fact that I'd probably need to import it, I'm actually very, very interested in the 5000 Series PowerBoard. Very cool concept, honestly.
You should use a ddr4 platform for the EVGA build just so you can use EVGA RAM. They briefly sold some ram a while ago. My old build had some. I know it would hurt performance but I fell like it would be cool to go as much EVGA as possible
This is one of the overall best builds I've seen. Obviously seen some that are really over the top, but this one is just clean, classy, and unique. Love how it looks with the GPU fans and analog gauges right next to each other. Just beautiful.
For my tastes, this is so much nicer than the InWin. The analog gauges got me as soon as this was released. BTW, the Singularity pieces really don't take away from the EVGA-ness. They are very subtle and are something of a must-have for this chassis.
This build definitely needs gold fittings with carbon fibre tubing! Or black EK fittings with the golden rings. Also this definitely needs a rad in the front as well, that gaping area needs some hardware to fill it up.
I simply LOVE that system - totally stealth... AWESOME!!! I would put 2 -4 hooks on the wall and make it a usable picture of awesomeness...!!! (it would also keep it away from the pups)
the bits linus used are standardised 1/4 inch fittings, he would have to make his own bits the size of standoffs to make your theory work which would drastically increase the cost of the screwdriver
This is a very nice build, love the powerboard and how the cables match. Looking forward to see the completion of this project. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share with us. Two thumbs up. Respect!
Jay, don't ever think this is a boring video..... At some point, us shlubbs are going to be trying to use these parts. You having gone first to sort out what goes where is bloody helpful.
Alex over at LTT did a case for the Spiffing Brit and used some black fittings from iBuypower/Hyte that were sharkbite style. They etched them with tea cups on them. Get those and etched with EVGA or Kingpin's logo on them with the etching in gold. Be beautiful I think.
Jay! Desks with scratches builds character! Just stain it and call it a day! I have yellowing bent pages of books, chairs covered in carvings and stained. Things used builds character.
This is much more interesting that that other case. A dust nightmare, but with as little RGB as possible this could be a sick minimalist build. Curious to see the non-power related wiring though. USB, headers, etc. How all that gets routed seems like it could be awful. Did they send cables for that as well? If not, where would you source them?
So jay, I dont know what they're called, but there's these sets of screws that has washers that the screws recess into to give you a different colored outline. Terrible explenation, but if you check out any of Bro Cooling on youtube, you'll see what I mean when you see him screw down the MB to the chassis.
Assembled my pc for the 1st time this weekend. Not my 1st PC, but the 1st one I assembled myself. And all thanks to your build videos, Jayz, finally found the confidence to do it. It was so much fun I wanna do it again :D
It's looking like it is going to be a epic build. I'm not sure if it's a camera issue though but the powerboard doesn't look square to the case anymore. Looks like the tension needs to be adjusted.
I believe an rgb light behind the power distribution plate would make the motherboard and graphics look like floating in mid air. I agree with no other lights other than the motherboard and graphics card. I would even have the ram sticks dark. Perfect looking build. I am envious 😂
The power board is a great choic, but I never liked the water distro plate personally. The case doesn't deserve RGB. Its not meant for lighting and as a car guy I know you agree. On our E1 Build used a top mount rad and it worked very well. You should def take a look at ours. I think we had very similar ideas
The silver piece that holds the cable on the front top right is backwards, if you look at all of the rest they are correct but that one isn't. If you look at it from the back you can tell that it has the same hole design as the other 3 that are currently on the front.
Love that case, but its given me an idea. Challenge for you: MAKE a PC case using multiple 500mm radiators stuck together (possibly welded?) for the top, side, front and bottom, so four out of the 6 case sides. Then get a regular rear "metal"/3D printed rear plate with cutouts for IO. And finally hang the motherboard mount on cables under tension, like the EVGA E1 PC case. I would imagine two length ways 500mm radiators to form the top, the same for the bottom and front, then five 500mm radiators to form the side of the case. A total of ELEVEN 500mm radiators, for what could be enough passive cooling to require no fans, just the pump to move the water through all the radiators. Alternatively, you could either find, or 3D print, a distro plate to form the front of the case, so only top+side+bottom were radiator walls, reducing the number of needed 500mm radiators to nine.
Even though I have extremely negative opinions on this build.. I'll always enjoy the videos. And I've very much enjoyed watching this series. The entertainment and educational value outweighs the dislike for this rig. Keep em coming!
This build is going to need to be inducted into the EVGA museum when you're done with it. So clean. So beautiful.
