The fact that these two are ACTUALLY taking Intel Arc as a serious choice for a budget/low mid-range build is great. More competition in the GPU market!

Assuming that this was shot on opening day, that would indicate that inventory was pulled from other stores. However, some parts being out of stock (the RAM kit, for example), leads me to believe that this was shot a few days after opening. (Like, say, the first Saturday they were open.)

I came here 3 weeks ago with my brother and his friend, and the friend surprised me and was going to buy a computer, even though he's normally a console guy. He came to me with his parts list, and I was able to trim the price WAY down (He was going AM4 yet using a x570). Combine that with the stupidly good deals (B450 and a amd 5600x3d) and we saved $600. He was still OK with the same budget, so he went from 3060ti to 4070. It was such a magical day, highly recommend the "choosing components in-store" experience.

I am not sure if it was part of the script or not, but honestly, it was really good to see some of the comments toward Austin about "You care more about winning than the people that would get these systems huh" and such. Austin is such in the business of entertainment-focused "broke vs pro" videos that are pumped out that the love of PC building has gotten lost. This felt more like a sponsored obligation from Austin while it seemed more like an opportunity from Jay. The two personalities really showed in this video. just a heads up the 6650 xt is wired for PCIE 4.0 x8, and neither the b450 nor the R5 5500 support pcie gen 4. AMD continues to use the PCI-Express 4.0 x8 bus interface with the RX 6650 XT to reduce board costs. By itself, Gen 4 x8 is plenty of bandwidth (comparable to Gen 3 x16), but when used on an older machine with PCIe Gen 3 slots, the card operates at Gen 3 x8 so with jay's original config the gpu is being bottlenecked by running pcie gen 3.0 x 8 by switching to the Arc A750 (which is wired for pcie 4.0 x16), it allows it to run at pcie gen 3.0 x 16 on the b450+5500 combo. 6650 xt likely wouldve won the benchmark otherwise if using pcie gen 4

IT'S SO NICE TO FINALLY HAVE A MICRO CENTER IN INDY!!! Sorry I missed you guys. It's awesome they've been flying out my favorite TH-camrs.
Oh how I envy you guys, I'd love to have a micro center here in the UK! love the collab
Microcenter kicks butt! I'm lucky enough to have 5 by me (NYC) and I love, love, love it!
Man Jay is a freakin' GIANT...Austin looked almost comically tiny compared to him 😂
FIVE micro centers near you? Are you hording them?
@@sammiller6631lmao we literally have all of the microcenters.
1 on Long Island
1 in Queens
1 in Brooklyn
1 in Yonkers and 1 in Jersey lol. But I'm equal driving distance from the LI, Queens and Brooklyn stores
To be fair, Austin is pretty short 😂
@gingaming_gg4719 and you guys have B&H too
I envy you
I love that the store hadn't even open yet, but they already had legit returns on the shelf for sale. Conspiracy confirmed, MicroCenter is hiding time travel from us!
Man, this was just good ol' awesomeness! You guys had so much fun!! So much presence. Thank you guys!!
Assuming that this was shot on opening day, that would indicate that inventory was pulled from other stores. However, some parts being out of stock (the RAM kit, for example), leads me to believe that this was shot a few days after opening. (Like, say, the first Saturday they were open.)
We need more Jayz Microcenter tours. That was amazing 😂
The apartment joke made my day, that was hilarious. props to that guy. 😂😂😂
I'm glad to see two friends having fun building PC's in a friendly competition. "We all learn from Linus's mistakes" is priceless 🤣
Thanks for stopping by! It was a pleasure seeing you guys!
What an awesome fun video! Huge thanks to Jay and Austin for giving us a good time. Can always trust Jay to entertain and inform while making it fun. Thanks.
The fact that you can build a 6c/12t, 32gb ddr4, 1tb nvme ssd, with a arc gpu or 6650xt for under $600 is such a great time to get into pc gaming!
It was such a magical day, highly recommend the "choosing components in-store" experience.
the Austin/Jay energy works surprisingly well. Kind of a big brother little bother dynamic. I'd like to see an on-going series
Pretty cool of Jay to do a video with his 10 year old son Austin. Maybe one day he will grow big and tall like Jay one day. 😂
Man, I loved this video and I mean not real ill will to Austin, but Jay is so much more natural in making content while still having the give away user in mind. Again , love the vid. I'm just astounded with Jay and his team's content making skills!
The look on Austin's face when Jay said his graphics card counted as open box because he opened it... It was a betrayal worthy of Sammy the Bull. 🤣
Maybe all Jay needed was a "Open box" case lol. The creation of the open box GPU was freaking hilarious.
I actually really enjoyed this video, I love seeing competitive budget builds
That was fantastic, the two of you work very well together in this type of video. Well done both of you.
“Linus has no shame” these words have become all too true
Such serendipitous joke.
Shout to Jay for keeping the spirit alive and maintaining integrity.
Austin Evans is the next LMG, he'll be holding the temp-sensor at your ceiling fan and tells you room temperature is low.
Wish there was a micro center near me, I would be in there all the time!
There's one about 12 minutes from my home and I guess I take it for granted...but I have bought many, many parts and made quite a few systems over the years from there.
@@hip_check Thats awesome! I would love to have one near me, and personally I would rather support them over Amazon or Newegg (too many bad experiences with Newegg) but unfortunately the closest Microcenter to me is 5+ hours away. 😫
@hip_check consider yourself lucky. Nearest one to me isn't even in my state.
Man I'm always so glued to the screen when watching a Jayz Micro Center video. It really is tech heaven, and I wish I had one near me 😢
This ad is serving its purpose well.
It was awesome to see this happening live in person! I drove for 3 hours to see this and it was amazing.
just a heads up the 6650 xt is wired for PCIE 4.0 x8, and neither the b450 nor the R5 5500 support pcie gen 4.
AMD continues to use the PCI-Express 4.0 x8 bus interface with the RX 6650 XT to reduce board costs. By itself, Gen 4 x8 is plenty of bandwidth (comparable to Gen 3 x16), but when used on an older machine with PCIe Gen 3 slots, the card operates at Gen 3 x8
so with jay's original config the gpu is being bottlenecked by running pcie gen 3.0 x 8
by switching to the Arc A750 (which is wired for pcie 4.0 x16), it allows it to run at pcie gen 3.0 x 16 on the b450+5500 combo. 6650 xt likely wouldve won the benchmark otherwise if using pcie gen 4
Can't believe how badly I needed to see something like this🤩. Thanks for the light hearted content. As always love your stuff Jay and team ❤
I have rewatched your 4060TI video where you addressed an issue. It is really amazing to see an adult person taking responsibility and having credibility. I think you are awesome Jay, keep up the good work!
Great Collab Jay and Austin.
Waiting to see more of this.
Nice one Jay! Best build-off schilling I've seen yet!(meant in a good way)...Great production from the team too... AM-4 forever & MORE PHILL!!!
I am a professional system builder, and you can't sell a "system" without a case. Jay wins. Not to mention neither one of them checked to see if the ram was on the board makers QVL.
Hope you guys enjoyed Indianapolis and had lunch at Ale Emporium right next door! Brought the kids down to the new store shortly after it opened, ended up walking out with an all new budget $550 build, sold it 2 days later for $675!
Loved every minute of this. Wish we got more Jay and Austin content!
Genuinely wasn’t expecting this collab but I love it! Being a techtuber should become more in-person and more networking oriented imho!
This was a breath of fresh air. Didn't take thousands of dollars to get some sweet frames and have a great time. Felt like building my first computer 20 years ago
just wanted to so say awesome video and once again ... if it wasn't for you i still wouldn't have a pc ....
and you gave me the courage to build it my self... i almost have it a year now. thank you jay
I really wish we had something like this in Australia. Would make my life so much easier. Especially as a PC Builder.
Cool fun tech video. Makes me forget that any drama is happening.
Don’t bring that here
This was very entertaining! I miss scrapyard wars because challenges like these never get old. It's just great fun!
This video made all my brain chemicals do happy things! I love my local Microcenter and this video was hilarious. Thanks guys!
Austin pointing out the 40-series being off-the-charts...LOL! Love this video like 300%+
That was a pretty cool video. Watched whilst I done dishes in my non-dishwasher peasant kitchen. Laughed the whole way. Lol
I know you and Austin have been sponsored by micro center for a long while, have either of you reviewed their build service by chance? Would love to see like 3 different price points of builds (picking parts) and see how they do on the build itself on average. Would they put more effort into the more expensive one than the cheap one? Hmmm
Man that was hilarious 😂. You two made a great team, both great performers and fun with your audiences. Hope to see more. Also, would you be up for cherity building competitions with some of your community members? Maybe setup a yearly build competition on your forum whom then you can choose teams from and then we all get together for a build off... Ideas. Anyways keep up the awesome content Jay and team!
Great video, nice to not see crazy, high cost builds but rather a more realistic, real world budget.
I love videos like this. Looks so much fun to do. "You know what they say about 10%..... it's good!" LOL that's what she said.
Awesome video, Jay. You clearly care about consumers, that means a lot.
Jay made an actual usable out of the box computer I call that a W
I was disheartened to find out you guys were there the day after lol sucks I missed out but looks like the community enjoyed it. Great shoot guys.
Dam they better have good security system. They have more value in that store than a Walmart.
*from Canada, Ontario so I’ve never seen a proper computer store.
I’d 💩 myself if I saw you at our Micro Center, glad you enjoyed it! I’m so happy to have one in Indiana now!
Would love to have a shop with competitive prices like this franchise here in Italy, would be awesome
Here in Europe we really are fucked with the prices, on average 15-25% more expensive.
madò
@@angeltzepesh1are you also accounting for the currency conversion or just comparing 1:1? Because it feels like even just comparing 1:1 they get more expensive
nice to see 2 youtubers getting along.
"We all learn from Linus's mistakes" means alot more right now considering whats going on!
You mean the thing people are making way too big of deal out of for clicks?
@@icanmakeeverythingilovedie9861Which is?
@@icanmakeeverythingilovedie9861 in your uninformed opinion
@icanmakeeverythingilovedie9861 so misleading people to make decisions that could potentially be very poor decisions or screwing over some companies because they didn't review their products right isn't a big deal? Wtf? Lmaoo
@@lurecyyy fanboys will be fanboys 🤣
I love the free flowing sarcasm jokes that they both make it’s awesome to watch
This was a fire video! I love our city's new microcenter. Thanks for coming :)
15:25 This aged well.
Jay, are you a time traveller? That comment on Linus's mistakes absolutely caught me off guard, since I'm sure this was filmed waaay before anything came to light.
Always great to see a Jayz2cents/Austin Evans crossover.
Hey Jay I am only an 1.5 hours away from the Indianapolis Indiana Micro Center. Wish I knew you were gonna be there and I would have drove up to see you and meet you in person. This is cool man, thanks for visiting my home state.
Thank goodness. A video that put a smile on my face, that made me forget the Linus drama for a bit.
