    Veteran IATSE Gaffer here. Everyone on a film set knows there are 4 people in the chain of command of firearms safety. The armorer, the 1st ad, the actor and if needed the key grip. SAG safety training since Brandon Lee death, has taught that the the ACTOR must always be the final person in charge of the safety of the weapons issues to them. The protocol is FOR ALL 3 to conduct a check of the weapon and ALL ROUNDS. As well during all times with acception of active filming, the actor is NEVER supposed to put their finger on the trigger and or pull it. BALDWIN, is a veteran action star that knows all of this. Additionally the camera crew walked off the film because He had consistently shown unsafe practices with his weapon. This is unheard of and show clear and evident lack of safety. Finally as BALDWIN was the producer on the film and had been told prior that the crew felt unsafe, it is directly HIS fault on many levels that a fatality happened on HIS Set.

      Former STCVQ best boy grip and best boy electric, cameraman, now producer with non-restricted and restricted firearm licensee here. Basic fundamental rule number 1 "treat every firearm as if it is loaded." A single action revolver must be fully cocked and then trigger must be pulled to fire. Period. Fully cocking a single action revolver is not easy it is a deliberate act many have hammers that have to be pulled back much further than one thinks. A single action revolver cannot fire without being fully cocked. Once fully cocked the revolver is extremely dangerous. No finger should be anywhere near the trigger when fully cocked. A misfire on a single action revolver almost always refers to the gun NOT firing rather than firing accidentally. That being said no film crew safety officer should ever trust an actor holding and pointing a gun towards them. The stories emerging from this production are quite frankly gobsmacking. The reason the camera crew walked off earlier is because they are often standing next to or close to the DoP. I would have been one of them. The fault is the armorer, the AD and Baldwin. But the DoP and the Director acted irresponsibly.

    First rule of firearm safety - it is the responsibility of the person handling the weapon to check it to be sure it is safe. Just like you don't take the word of a passenger in a vehicle you are operating, that it is safe to go into an intersection, you would not trust any other person's word that a firearm you are handling is safe without verifying it yourself. End of story. Even George Clooney commented, in an interview regarding the shooting, that he always checks any weapon he is handed for safety and shows the others on the set so everyone can be sure that it is safe to use.

    destroying the gun was the dumbest thing I have ever seen, it could have disproven Baldwins' assertion that he did not pull the trigger. They ran a destructive test BEFORE HAVING THE CHANCE TO DO TESTING ON THAT WEAPON!

    • @verabolton
      @verabolton 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      False. They destroyed the gun WHILE they were testing it.

    If i was on the jury i would simply need to now: Who both the bullets, who checked the bullets, who loaded the gun...If this was NOT Mr.Baldwin , he can go and the person(s) responsible for my 3 questions need to take his place...and we continue the trial...correct?

    The fact that prosecutors are even pursuing this is absurd. What absolute clowns. Anyone that understands film production knows it is entirely up to the armorer on set to provide safe weapons to use for filming. It is their responsibility. This tragedy is entirely the fault of the armorer and no one else.

    How ignorant and DANGEROUS it is to trust an armorer. With life and death… ALEC proved this system doesn’t work.

    The prosecution also failed to disclose that they severely damaged or destroyed the gun when carrying out testing on the gun. They leave out of their address that in the script for the scene that led to the accident that the hammer of the gun was to be cocked but the trigger not pulled because the gun was not supposed to be fired in that scene.. A gun expert who had another gun of the same make and model claimed you could not pull back the hammer properly without pulling the trigger and also hit the hammer of the gun with an actual hammer to show how tough and durable that make and model gun was. To me that does not make that logical without further explanation, why have the hammer then?The gun may have been altered in a failed attempt to make it conform to the script and that was not investigated and could not be because the prosecution ruined the gun in testing that they did not disclose. Alec Baldwin maintains he never pulled the trigger but followed the script that amounts to a corroboration and waz he told that was supposed to be not possible. They never determined and gave up investigating how live ammunition got on the film location to begin with and then who put the live ammunition in the gun The person in charge of the making of the film is obviously the director but was never charged presumably because he was the other person who was shot but only wounded. The prosecution case is crazy and dishonest and they have obviously gone after Baldwin to promote their legal careers off his celebrity. They should be disbarred. Further the prosecution people that gave evidence were not smart enough to be lawyers and were also determined to go on with their case after it had fallen apart before trial and would not admit they made a mistake, a common flaw in prosecutors.

    Dear attorney, your argument of "the actor's job is to act" is dangerous. Do you mean that if the actor is playing a ra*ist, is he allowed to behave with the collogues accordingly?! 🤔🤨🧐 28:30
