@@zolo49noname45 I think they may have had suspicions considering he was clearly slightly higher level than them but I'm sure that part of Taliesin's RP was just Ashton taking advantage of someone who wouldn't mind too much.
@@DannyMakesVideosIGuess Even IF that wasn't the case, it would have been nice of Matt to let him be 2 levels higher, since BB was old as balls. And a human at that.
Fearne: "its not your fault" Dorian: "I know" Fearne: "do you?" The way robbie reacted to that really hit me, that one partially stuck out to me, Robbie really does so well with emotion when its needed
Two weird observations: 1. This new party is oddly well equiped to climb one story to a second floor balcony. That's a niche speciality. 2. Caleb felt so powerful when he was sending fire left and right but Orym makes opening a door with a simple regular shortsword a power move. I now realize it's all coming from Liam's RP, not the mechanics.
I think Liam has an excellent handle of balancing events and roleplay. Everything he does gives flavor and weight to his actions, immediately demonstrating his character’s personality. I never saw anything with Orym in it until I started C3 and I instantly could tell he was not only knowledgeable, but calculated and swift.
Looking forward to it. A show that will pair well with The Real Housewives of Emon. (Narrative Telephone reference, for those who might not have watched those. Which you should.)
I like how the mourning of bertrad wasn't overplayed they knew him for like 2 days and some them disliked him and a lot of them have been around death before so it makes sense they weren't particularly phased.
I just think it's sad anytime someone dies alone. Especially someone who, while occasionally a dolt, was clearly a good person. It wouldn't have happened if they hadn't left him alone. I expected a bit more remorse from the less sociopathic members of the group.
I’m actually quite sad about Bertrand. I think there was a lot of mileage for a Don Quixote-esque character and Travis played him so well. I hope Travis’ main character is someone where he can continue to rock out his comic chops
@@sorry542 I took a 3 week break from the show.. I immediately fell in love with Chetney once Travis continued his usual trolling though. He just seems to be more active in everything than the first two campaigns, as in he talks more. And I love that, since every second thing he says is just fucking with the rest of the cast.
Yeah I’m actually pretty sad about it too. I was really interested in learning more of his backstory since it’s sort of implied somewhat that he was kind of a cowardly bullshiter but still didn’t really seem like a bad person. I would’ve loved seeing an arc where maybe we could’ve learned some back story and seen him sort of grow into being more heroic. Sad to see him gone like that
@@DoomPickle490 oh yea even decades before when he was with vox machina in the search for grog/bob he was always full of false confidence and bullshittery, even implied that he didnt really intend to actually join VM on the journey to find grog while playing it off like that was always the plan😂definitely was my favorite character of this campaign through the first 3 episodes though, even if he was effectively useless in both combat and outside of combat(though the latter was through constant terrible rolls) it fit the 80-90 year old human character so well
@@JubioHDX OH HE WAS ACTUALLY WITH VOX MACHINA?! I haven't watched Campaign 1 yet because I still need to finish C2 and I'm only now catching up with C3 but I totally thought he was bullshiting lol. That's actually really cool
ashtons adventure in being the "suave crime person" definetly feels like they were always the muscle before, and they've always wanted to be the "cool suave crime person" so, leading this group of chuckle-fucks has been a blessing for them
I think Dorian is more the awkward, accidentally endearing bard as opposed to the typical sexy/horny bard and it's a delight to watch. He's shy when he gets flirted with, and he's a bundle of anxiety!
@@alleycat2297 I love him, he's all awkward and anxious but when push comes to shove he is ON IT, just that part with him and Imogen interrogating that guy in the tavern was an insanely good moment. He's so great at making the conversation feel so *alive* him and Matt just bounce off eachother perfectly in that regard
Laura kinda made the perfect character for herself this campaign: the telepathy allows her to participate in any interaction without metagaming; she's got an emotional backstory that will allow her to use her range as an actress and storyteller; and best of all, she's a caster who can be creative, offensive from a distance, and _never has to heal._
I feel like everyone did that tbh! Fearne is PERFECT for Ashley, just a bit cooky and blurts out things without thinking, sweet on the surface but a MONSTAH underneath... Sam just gets to be a robot and have fun, not caring about most in game stuff like money but just winging it all the time. Ashton just is Taliesin, a punk who knows everyone in town, I mean, this shit writes itself. Liam gets to totally have fun with Orym, making cool shit happen without the magic, and Marisha is just having the most fun and gets to flail about and "accidentally" hit people without it being OOC lol. Basically, they all made their perfect characters this campaign.
@@thespankmyfrankI think it’s cool how much you guys know about each character already, I’ve never played D&D but I’m halfway through this episode after the past 3 and I wish I had when I was younger. But this has been an awesome find for me

"Yeah, or like that coin you threw down the cavern." Robbie's just out here showing how well he vibes with the rest of the CR crew and making a case for why he should stick around long term.
It was a good idea to bring him in via ExU, he knows he can joke around with Liam from experience but I don't think he's as comfortable with the rest just yet.
They said before the campaign started that he is a guest character, he will probably be the one to head back when they find the person they came here for. Or he will die like Bertrand.

Laudna is so perfect for marisha. For the first time i find myself forgetting that its an actor/ actress playing a character. Im completely enthralled in her character. Marisha nailed it once more!
From a roleplay perspective yes, absolutely. Marisha playing Laudna is amazing compared to Beau or Keyleth. She's crushing it. Watching Marisha play a caster is hard tho. Getting another round of "thanks Keyleth" vibes from Laudna.

Most of the crew has a “listening face,” “writing face,” “omg face,” etc. Marisha could go through 5 different expressions before who ever’s speaking even takes a breath, while everyone else barely moves to pay attention
Towards the end of Campaign 2 when Ashley returned fulltime and was able to really focus on her character it quickly became apparent that she's got the more serious acting chops of the group. She is absolutely on fire in C3 as Fearne. Easily my all-time fav CR character.
@@thatsmuggamer Taliesin as Molly was the biggest miss so far. He never seemed to find the character's voice (sometimes literally), and I think his unfamiliarity with the Blood Hunter class led him to some poor combat decisions.
It’s been confirmed that he is supposed to leave but he might stay if the community likes him. I do agree he does fit in really well with the rest of the group
53:45 I absolutely love Laudna, and I can already feel her terrifying aesthetic becoming familiar and comforting. It is going to be fun to watch Matt play these horrified NPCs while the others are completely calm and relaxed.
You can even see it in Dorian’s own interactions with Laudna in this episode. Remember when he was once repulsed with having his cleanliness tarnished, or how awkward the first princess carry hovering was? Clearly he’s now aware that despite her appearance, Laudna truly is a kind and gentle soul, if a little eccentric. After all, she’s been just as attentive to his well-being as everyone else.
I love Robbie and Dorian so much. The "haha yes, we hate the rich" comment was so priceless 😅 Just the whole interaction between Dorian and Jenaya was amazing.
I love these supporting frinedships in this campaign. Asthon and FCGs world-weary yet enthusiastic energy, Laudna and Imogens gentle companionship and of course Oryms, Fearnes, and Dorians idealistic world view. Also, I adore Ashleys look at 1:13:25. This is apparently something, Fearne never wondered about.
Just want the staff of Critical Role to know how much I appreciate everything they do. I can't tell you how much your show helps keep the big sad away, whenever I feel lonely I put this on and feel like I'm in a room with people. Thank you

Two weird observations:
I'm calling it now, between Eshteross's carrot cakes and the Shadow Baker, the plot of this campaign is going to be the Great Exandrian Bake-Off.

Keep in mind how long that was ago though! Don’t set up an expectation Bc you’ll only be disappointed either way. Just enjoy the show! Marisha is a great role player and super chill at the end of the day.
@@tomdawson3495 exactly how I feel too. Not a fan of Keyleth nor Beauregard (though Beau grew on me later on), but Laudna is straight up one of my favorite characters in all campaigns so far. I'm super pleasantly surprised
Fearne's eulogy was so absolutely perfect for her character. Like: "Aww, haha, aww so sweet, LMAO-" Lovely and chaotic, just like Fearne
We need an apron in the CR Store that says "I am not a maker of PIES, I am a CURATOR of PASTRIES."
I would buy it and wear it every time I bake.
I know like, three people at the top of my head that I would buy that for right away!
I kinda like how travis was just on camera to go
We play Dugooonnns and Drudgooons
SPOILERS!!!! lol lol
Maybe they weren't sure whether the group would make it to the point where they meet his character in this session
@@chrisrudolf9839 Yeah, there's also an entire episode where Taliesen chills backstage, waiting if he could already make his introduction as Cad
Probably to let people know yes he will be in this episode so cool it in chat. During episode 1 they were freaking out since it took him so long to join the table. Some people even thought he'd been replaced by Robbie.
@@elbruces Wow, some people have wild imaginations
Best underappreciated line: "like one of those weird pop tart flavors that shouldn't be eaten, but are intriguing"
What makes it better is that everyone can think of at least one specific pop-tart flavor fitting that description.
Root beer flavor. Dr pepper flavor. Basically half the fruit flavors.
S'mores and cookies and creme imo are the best
@@johnblack8872 Jolly rancher flavor
Cinnamon or Dr Pepper 💀
Blue raspberry. (It was a temporary SpongeBob flavor for the most recent movie).
This episode had the perfect blend of sadness and humor. Thanks for everything Mr. Bell! You will be missed.
Absolutely obsessed with how Liam constantly reminds people just ho small Orym is
Alright, I think we can add "JAZZ IS CHAOS" to Fearne's ever-growing list of incredible quotes.
@Muscleman8562 begone bot
@Muscleman8562 ...were you trying do a Yasha cosplay?
I always thought of Jazz as spice. Dishes without a little spice get boring but make it too spicy and you gotta be used to eating it or you won't like it.
@Muscleman8562 stop
Not gonna lie, I'd pay for a shirt with "Jazz is Chaos" on it.
Laudna: "This is the second body we've laid on this table in 24 hours" holy moly Marisha just made me have an unusually awkward laugh.
🚨🚨🚨 AAAAAAHHHHH!!! 🚨🚨🚨 school is sooooo boring i am in 8th grate and its so boring i am having sucess on youtube so i think i will drop out of school. i dont have friends so i need your opinon w
@@AxxLAfriku I would recommend staying in school, it's kinda boring but personally speaking it got better in highschool, might help you make more friends even. Plus if you go with a TH-cam career, and it doesnt work out (since it is a possibility) at least youve finished highschool so you can go to collage/university and it'll be easier for you to get another job
@@evelynnsophia7631 Don't bother, he just spams comments and replies on popular channels
@@LexSchilperoord thank you 😅 sorry I live under a rock and only watch a few channels lol
@@evelynnsophia7631 he goes back and forth of being a small child and a grown adult with two girlfriends. and yes his videos are terrible and just vlogs.
Seeing the excitement build on Matt's face watching Orym and Fearne make the decision to dive down a dark small hole is fun.
I love how creepy but super supportive Laudna is!!! Shes so sweet and so amazing
can't wait to see Travis introduce his main C3 character, Chutney Chocolatecane
Introducing Hjonda
I NEED IT
@@krspy8849 oh man, deep cuts XD
I was looking at other characters travis had played and thought the same thing
Excuse you, it's obviously Macaroni Samsonite!
Good guy Liam is hella pleasant. Love to see this side of him after two seasons of broody. Also Milo is amazing.
I think Liam is actually sorry about the coin.
Give it time, Liam will expose the gooey emo core of Orym’s backstory eventually.
@@Crit_Cat_82 Orym set his parents on fire
Christ finally he plays something differently! Thanks Liam!
@@Crit_Cat_82 🤮
I love the way everybody kept checking in on Robbie during The Thing cause he's the new guy around and everyone knows how it feels like to be the new player in an experienced group so like, idk, it was just real sweet
I like how much you can tell about Marisha’s thoughts while other people are talking. Most of the crew has a “listening face,” “writing face,” “omg face,” etc. Marisha could go through 5 different expressions before who ever’s speaking even takes a breath, while everyone else barely moves to pay attention
i really love how much marisha gets into charcters, she doesnt just voice act laudna, she acts with her whole body......
Taliesen: "I just aged when you said that." 01:07:16
Notable for an immortal.
I love how they went from almost everyone having dark vision to just Marisha
What timestamp is that ?
@@known_film4081 3:47:38
@@sturmklinge9642 thanks
It was almost everyone BUT Marisha last time too! Beau had the goggles but she didn't have it herself
I'm with Matt - I love it! It was just too convenient.
"I'm still working on your song.." - Dorian OMG! THE TEARS!
"...but it's not. It's Worcestershire..."
I almost spewed coffee from my nose. Friggen hilarious!

Sam: “If you got the old version of the shirt, screw you!”

Laura: “If you got the old version, then you got a limited edition shirt!”

(sigh) Limited eidtion that doesnt fit. Love the shirt was sad by the sizing wonkiness
@@gryphonlsb Indeed, they use a very odd sizing chart, I normally go l or xl but had to go up to XXL before things fit and barely at that.
@@20storiesunder normally in shops, there is a table with measures for each size. Do they have it?
@@kuroinokitsune Aye they do but either I messed up the measuring or it isn't very accurate

Ashley and Marisha have found their perfect characters
I love Fearne so much, I suspect that by the end of this campaign she will be my favorite ever (if she is not Molly-ed in the next few eps)
totally. ESPECIALLY Marisha.
Towards the end of Campaign 2 when Ashley returned fulltime and was able to really focus on her character it quickly became apparent that she's got the more serious acting chops of the group.
She is absolutely on fire in C3 as Fearne. Easily my all-time fav CR character.
While I’m inclined to agree, I feel like in a way, every character that these people play is one part of perfect
@@thatsmuggamer Taliesin as Molly was the biggest miss so far. He never seemed to find the character's voice (sometimes literally), and I think his unfamiliarity with the Blood Hunter class led him to some poor combat decisions.
To whoever does the subtitles,
thank you so so much,
from a mother with kids so loud even headphones don't work...
Agreed, coming from a kid with a mother so loud headphones don’t work-
gee, teach your kids to not be such annoying fuhks, the res tof the world would appreciate it
I love our old Batman Eshteross and his ever extending adopted family fighting against the injustice in Jrusar.
Love seeing Robbie in the campaign! Hope he sticks around ❤️
I thought he would be distracting at first, but so quickly he formed into a natural fit and part of the gang :)
@@B1gLupu i will miss him if he leaves :(
It’s been confirmed that he is supposed to leave but he might stay if the community likes him. I do agree he does fit in really well with the rest of the group
@@Zoop-Zoop Confirmed where? Who confirmed it?
@@Zoop-Zoop yes confirmed where??
Matt: so looking over bertrams body, you see 10 red eyes all over his body
No, no, 10 circles. Golden. Congrats, Exandria is now in the MCU
Brumestone! *gasp*
"In the shadows he rises" got me so good, I was laughing for like 5 minutes
I love these supporting frinedships in this campaign. Asthon and FCGs world-weary yet enthusiastic energy, Laudna and Imogens gentle companionship and of course Oryms, Fearnes, and Dorians idealistic world view.
Also, I adore Ashleys look at 1:13:25. This is apparently something, Fearne never wondered about.
Just want the staff of Critical Role to know how much I appreciate everything they do. I can't tell you how much your show helps keep the big sad away, whenever I feel lonely I put this on and feel like I'm in a room with people. Thank you
They are amazing friends to have. I am so glad they share this with us.
"I'm the only one who can fit through this hole."
"Then you shall have my rock chisel."
"And my Coin of Delving!"
"Fool of a took!"
