Episode 1: Who the hell is this Robbie?
Episode 6: I would die for this man.
yes do yourself this wonderful favor and watch exu i would die for my DOUBLE D's!!!!!
This is my first CR campaign, and I’ve been a fan of Robbie for years, so seeing all the comments warning up to him makes me really happy.
Everyone saying he's only a guest, the Nordiverse would suggest otherwise
Same here. I did notice though that he kind of strangely follows the Bertrand Bell model of behaviour: always making the way for the group first and spending money as if you know your life is short. Hope I'm wrong and he stays for the whole campaign!
He has grown on me despite my dislike of EXU. glad he's here.
Sam wasn’t satisfied simply carrying the flask: he’s turned himself INTO the flask.
Did anyone else notice the coffee bit was similar to it’s always sunny? (Charlie drinks gasoline) 🤣🤣🤣
Oh no you're so RIGHT!
I’m just waiting for an official Critical Role branded FCG thermos
@@Thndrcougrfalcnbrd I would buy the shit out of that!
@@Thndrcougrfalcnbrd Omg YES!! 😍
I don’t think anyone is talking about this: when Ashton says he thinks Laudna’s the oldest and Dorian says “I wouldn’t bet on that”, he’s talking about Fearne not himself. And Ashley gives a little self-satisfied smile which is adorable and very on brand for Fearne.
He was definitely talking about Fearne. :D
Oh right, I forgot that Fearne said her age in EXU
I forget what it was, but it was over a century
I mean isn't the feywild suppose to be a mess when it comes to time, space and logic? Like even if she claims to be a century if she's basing it on feywild years that could possibly mean anything. Like a century in the feywild could've been only a day in the material plane or a thousand years. I'm probably wrong, but I'm very curious so I asked.
@@davidsousa4652 If the Feywild acts as the Fae realm in actual Celtic mythos, then a couple days there could easily be weeks or even years in the prime material plane. Though we've seen the party manage to play with Feywild time in past campaigns enough to return to the prime material within the same amount of time as they spent in the Feywild, and even less time sometimes, but that was with the help of our favorite Archfay. It's rare to have less time pass in the prime material plane than the Feywild, just as a normal thing.
@@davidsousa4652 It doesn't really matter how time in the different realms relate tho - she experienced those 100-whatever years, so that is what her age is.
I love how the druid is the one that tries stealing everything the barbarian is the one who tries speaking to everyone and the weakest among them attempts the most str checks. Amazing.
my barbarians rage is flavored she hates fighting and gets REALLY pissed anytime she gets forced to.
@@als2480 I had a a barbarian that was high INT, high con, passable Dex, shit everything else. Became an accountant with anger issues...we had enough damage dealers so the lack of strength never become an issue as he just ran forward and just aggro'ed all the attention.
@@als2480 a player in my game flavors her rage as panic, cause she's easily frightened
@@als2480 my babarian is a sweet old lady who really wants to be a wizard , but is frankly said too stupid to do magic with anger managment issues. She loves baking!
I got two barbarian/Artificer builds
1 is a Zealot reflavored with necrotic or acid damage mixed with Alchemist Artificer to make a Dr, Jekyll/Mr Hyde character
And have a Artillerist/Storm Harold who's "Rage" is him Supercharging his evocation magic into himself and uses intelligence to "plan out" how to lift things (adv on str) and to strike better.
The idea of Laudna heading up a TLC-style reality show where she finds a house, fixes it, and then runs from the pitchfork-toting locals is something I would wholeheartedly get behind.
Better homes and Hovels
@@diegowolfe2744 I want that!!
She said she has a thing for a room design

*Jumps out the window*
"alrighty! move! that! angry mob!"
"What the fuck is up with that" is such a good way to build relations between the characters, absolutely stealing it!
Me too!
Yea dude me too
Same. Gonna have an npc in a tavern introduce it or something
It seems like a good way to build relations between people in general really
Sitting here furiously writing down the rules as he comes up with them going "F@#$&%? HELL, Tal, I'm supposed to be painting minis!!!!!!"
FCG asking Laudna "Are you dead? What the fuck is up with that?" Is one of the funniest moments in all of CR.
That and Fearn making FCG her Thermos
It was “ true Detective season 5 “ for me
No her reaction was great
The best! Lmao
I love how patient Matt is with his players, he literally lets them roleplay for an hour without a word. Hes truly great.
Little late to the party to comment on that: I think it’s especially great because this entire thing is a production. Other productions have the dm to kinda push the players because there are certain points in the story to reach before an episode ends and CR always feels like … a bunch of friends just playing dnd while there is a camera around. Absolutely loving it too.
Right? I wanted to say stuff so many times!
Also in an interview he says it's his favorite part, he can just Kay back and let them do their own thing, it's like break for him
What was he gonna do interrupt and tell them to stop?
@@aprilecotton2060 I loved that when they pulled out all platinum money for a box seat at the evening show and there is confusion over whether or not they're buying it for the afternoon or evening but one of the evening he immediately just turned time forward for them 🤣. It almost made it seem like the guy at the theater suddenly had magical powers for that kind of cash. Also the girl at the table who's like OMG 😮 how much money do you have? I felt that in my soul. I was just watching stunned because this is my first time watching this game and I didn't even know that was a thing.
"Oh Laudna, you're like the cool side of the pillow" is the most underrated line ever. Robbie is a treasure
"Lets grab that dick together!" Was another one that was glossed over. Robbie is such a good addition.
I hope he isn't only a visitor and stays forever.
@@angussharington2374 pretty sure it was mentioned he is a "guest" on the show, but I agree that he should be a fixture!
I wish he would stay forever. Or at least come back on occasion. Love him.
That's the smoothest compliment you can give a slightly-dead person
Laudna giving Dorian the Bertrand doll feels like when a kid brings home their school project that's just a pile of macaroni and glitter, and their parent has to pretend like it's an amazing piece of art.
O, Laudna.
@@JD-wu5pf Absolutely. It's 100% "Thanks, I hate it" energy.
But don't you know? Sometimes, and most times really, the uncommission work meant for you is the best work. Children can't be bought. That macaroni and glitter salad comes from their untrained hearts. It comes from Love only.
@@Dude_1864 Unless they were forced to make it in art class. :P
@@MrBottlecapBill well that would count as commissioned work I suppose lol
I absolutely adore Talesin just being like "hey, here's a random super heavy roleplay encounter to start things off among the party." That's BEAUTIFUL.
I bet it’s really nice for Matt, too, who gets to observe his players roleplay, make notes about backstory and work on the next set of interactions and encounters
I bet Matt would rather just join them in this fun roleplaying moment as a party member instead
@@RedLoopster I'm pretty sure he's more like "I don't have to do anything for the next half hour, sweet."
I'm stealing this for my campaign for sure. Will probably have an npc they are friends with suggest it
@@scatzilla99 as a DM, this is exactly what he was like
Laura losing her shit over the money is KILLING me. Like that's not Imogen freaking out. That is straight up Laura Bailey.
It's her inner Vex
Laura, your Vex is showing again. XD
I have wondered about that. I keep wanting to keep track of their money because I'm worried for them but I didn't know what they started with and I can't help it, but that's my own issue. Certain levels of financial insecurity imprint on you for life and I've wondered if that's going on with her or not but it's none of my business.

The "what the fuck is up with that" section was genuinely genius and something I am stowing away for my home game sometime in the future. Thanks for that Taliesin, so much amazing character building came out of that idea. It was absolutely a delight to watch.
One of my favorite CR roleplaying scenes BY FAR!! We learned so much and it didn't feel extradiegetically forced. It was like Truth or Dare but only Truths and with more "fuck" 🤣
I hope to play it in my campaign in the near future. It's an ingenious way to learn backstory subtly or unsubtly from the more mysterious players in your group. ^__^
I cannot wait for the campaign I'm playing to resume so that my bard can propose that game to the rest of the party. That's such a great way to get to know players' characters!
I love the idea too. But there was too much dodging for my taste... The rule was to answer honestly and only leave out names and places and such.
right? I immediately texted the group I'm in and was like...guys, we have a new drinking game OOC...and we need to add it to our game.
Laudna telling her tragic backstory with this nonchalant “Oh, you know how it is..” demeanour is amazing. 🤣
"The day I died was the most important day in the history of Whitestone. But for me, it was... Tuesday."
Laudna is my favorite character this campaign. I’m kinda hoping her and Imogen are really one person. Meaning Imogen projecting this personality into everyone’s brain because she can’t control her powers.
@@brodiewan I like this as a theory but it sounds pretty out there to me, maybe if laudna was actually Imogen in life and she's projecting Imogen because she's 50 and Imogens age is unknown. But it really all falls apart because they're from continents across the world from one another
hey man, I think that's just who people who were born/raised ( or in her case, died ) in Whitestone are! It's very Percy / Cassandra, I think
Laudna: Sometimes you die and wake up with a voice in your head who becomes your Warlock Patron! You know how it is

My favourite part of the double nat 20s is Matt going "WITCH"
Robbie: "I won't get two natural 20s that would never happen"

One of the best things in the whole episode!
I wanna see the photo they took of it
27:10 Orym has definitely lost someone he loved deeply. The throat-clearing, the way he is shrinking into himself, how he can't look up let alone anyone in the eyes - that's the signs of someone who is REALLY uncomfortable with the topic at hand and is fighting of BAD memories.
I can not stress enough how much I love Liam's way of non-verbal roleplaying.
Oh man I didn’t even notice that the first time around but you’re right. I really love how in-character he is during these scenes, it makes for interesting moments of body language doing the storytelling
I don't think he murdered his parents this time but he might have fought alongside them as they died. Emotional enough for Liam to enjoy but different from past characters
Well if my recollection of exandria unlimited is reliable I think didn’t his husband die?
I feel like at some point in the EXU he mentioned a dead husband?
Orym is such a sweetie. I just wanna pick him up and smooch his cute little face 🥰😚
I'm currently living in a terrifying liminal space between a Critical Role episode coming out and Flando releasing their time stamps.
A truly horrifying demiplane.

Day 6 of loving Robbie as a player at this table. I think he fits so well into the cast and I hope he sticks around for quite some time more.
I think based on the revelations at the end of the episode, we may be seeing the beginning of his exit storyline tbh - no way the family aren't looking for both of them now to bring them home. How long that takes to play out I would wager will depend on when Travis' new character is introduced.
@@andrewboxall2945 It may not necessarily be an exit storyline. it could be a way to delve into his backstory and then something to do with his character development along the way. We might not see him often and be a similar case as to when Ashley would not be around. we'll see though
@@bloodcrowe984 i'm sure based on the response Robbie as a player has gotten this is a possibility, when I say an exit storyline, everyone seems to have taken it the wrong way, i'm not saying gone for good, but if people think he has just suddenly became a permanent cast member, that is not the case until CR come out and state this, until then he always was and is a guest on the show like dozens of people before him.
