Dying Oryn is just so common now, and I just think it's hilarious. He's one of the strongest, and he's always just so exhausted on the brink of death after every battle. poor guy.
I don't know how to put this but I just love the way Liam frames his sentences despite this being improv, like he's always reading off a very well-written script. He's a true creative and you can tell. He's probably very adept at dialogue writing.
I recently watched the Shakespeare-themed episode of Gather Your Party, with Liam among other guests. He is SUCH a glorious theatre and classics nerd. (Among his other nerddoms, but he and Sam and maybe Taliesin seem like the most hardcore theatre people, specifically.)
Well, it's good to remember that Warforged are not supposed to be a thing in Exandria. The only intelligent constructs heard of are golems which are already pretty fucking rare and even then, most are really only magically animated tool with barely any personnality. For the average exandrian, encoutering a fully sentient machine like F.C.G. is the real world equivalent of having a smartphone suddenly passing the Turing test and having a flawless conversation with you
I think the being built for helpfulness thing would be interesting to be pushed back on/possible avenue for growth. Totally not related to any of my current issues
I think hearing Robbie saying out loud, with all seriousness to solve a case, the phrase "We have to find the bone zone" literally almost killed me. I am choking and food is everywhere.

I absolutely love that every person they talk to they ask "what's the one word you'd use to describe us?" And each time, they're talking to the same Matt as they did the first time. But, he somehow tricks both the cast and the audience into thinking he's now a completely different person.
It's like that moment a few episodes ago where Travis referred to MATT as the person who wasn't real because he was trying to barter with Matt for something for Bertram. Gotta love players that are ABSOLUTELY LIVING in the world they're playing in. Matt draws them in and they completely lean into the spin.
Robbie made a fantastic point. When a party is after information, they typically seek specific information that maybe one or two people might have access to. If they ask more broad questions or for opinions, it won't directly answer their questions but it might lead them to whoever can.
Honestly, Robbie is such a good addition to an RPG table. Even if his ideas aren’t fully feasible (like at Duggar’s place, with the question of if they could cave in the house), they’re usually out of the box and worth asking about, because they at least allow the group to check a theory off the list. He’s got a different perspective from what the CR crew is used to working in, and it’s really neat to see how he analyzes things.

Why did it take until now for me to realize that they could easily travel in disguise as a small circus or sideshow? Laudna is perfect creepshow material, F.C.G. is a spectacle all his own, and Dorian and Fearne love performing. Then you've got Imogen as the bookkeeper/manager, leaving Orym and Ashton as bouncers. It's perfect.

Also, it seemed that when Travis started talking, Taliesin said "Oh no" im not sure if it was because Travis was using an older voice once more, or because Taliesin remembered that last time Travis used this voice, he said "I walk up to the "Saint Nick"".

Fearne is an absolute gift. Matt's mentioned several times that Ashley living her best life as Fearne is one of his favorite things about (early) campaign 3, and I totally agree. Makes me retroactively sadder about what we missed out on with Pike and Yasha's absences.
@@mixter1257 I haven't watched all of Campaign 1 but I'll do my best to explain (SPOILERS AHEAD): Scanlan was the Bard of Vox Machina so he would likely be the one out of the group go on to perform and retell the events at the end of Campaign 1 when Vox Machina defeated Vecna The Ascended, who was a god. @@mixter1257 i don't know the details because I haven't watched all episodes and its been a while but scanlan was a bard and considered himself a lover and performer first. He would have loved to have a one man show about himself. He also tends to blow things up to be bigger than they are. For example he had this persona with the title "kingslayer" and while its true that he helped kill a king, he pretends its bigger than it is and as if he is more honourable. "To kill a god" is such a grand thing that he'd love as a performance about himself. Now it might be much easier than this and he might have lied about having such a piece written about himself before or he wrote the piece himself but I either missed it or I forgot.
Campaign 1 spoilers When Vecna tried to leave by teleporting Scanlan used his 9th level slot on a counterspell. Without that Vecna would have escaped to plot another day.
Yeah, it’s my only nitpick with the new intro, Thursday night means nothing to me. However, I understand it has been their sign off since the very beggining so I can’t complain.
Rewatching it, it's lovely to see the little clues Matt drops in... the janitor cleans in and *around* the building, the bar girl occassionally smelled of smokes therefore smoke breaks, anyone who's worked a bar knows where they'd end up. Little clues.

They made a lot of character/gameplay/plot decisions that really made it a chore to listen to for me - I personally am GREATLY PREFERRING this campaign - even of the three! I like, specifically, how you could tell he was improvising on the spot and presented it as a scribble akin to an arrow or the sort. Then thought like: "These guys won't get it" as then proceeded to state, that it literally read "OUTSIDE" XD
Sometimes you gotta just move it along, for your sake and the players sake. Aint nothing more boring then when they clearly arent picking up on whatever hint you had planned for them to pick up on and the sessions grinds to a halt whilst they try and figure out what to do.
In the discussion prior to them getting to the basement, he had an NPC say "outside" twice and even introduced evidence that one of the missing liked to take smoke breaks. He also made a point of saying that the janitor did not have keys to the basement. After missing that many clues, he had no choice but to resort to crayons. XD
@rault114 it's not that they missed the clues, but rather they intelligently decided to check out the place throughly, you know, like characters that they're playing. There are a number of factors that led them to flip the theater before moving outside( Laura even went straight outside and said she was going to so many times, so I'm confused on what you thought they did wrong), such as being stalked by Dugger not long ago, who used holes from the inside of buildings to do his work from, and it's clear that the players were looking for these holes to make sure that this what or what wasn't happening.
The looks on each of their faces when they recognize Travis' accent is priceless. I love how they all didn't realize it simultaneously. As the realization dawned for each of them, it was amazing!
Pretty sure they hire people to deal with the script, but yeah, I rarely ever watch these with Subtitles off just because of how great they consistently are.
Chetney isn't "new". Chetney is just a rework of his character "Chutney" from the Christmas one-shot, and I was absolutely hoping he'd eventually make a reappearance, no matter how long or briefly, in an eventual storyline in the near future.

Chutney (from the Christmas one-shot), reworked as Chetney, the wood-working gnome, is absolutely brilliant. Travis bringing back the greatest hits means his characters already have a decent amount of experience, people are already somewhat familiar with them and their personalities -- (both the rest of the players as well as the audience watching), and if he wants to bring back **another** character as they go along, it means he's not just stuck with a single character he has to build up and figure out a backstory for as they go along through their adventuring. I mean, he's still got his one-shot werewolf, and he's got Macaroni Samsonite as well, if he needs other options to work with of anything happens to Chetnet. It never hurts to have a backup plan or two at the ready if needed. ^__^

@@secretname3897 and? What if she has ADD we don't know, never assume. I love Laura no matter how she acts in sessions. The reason for maybe those two lines is because you C3 character is like an introvert (as are so many of us) and don't like big crowds. That and her sorcerer is an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer so they tend to be a bit more reserved because they can hear thoughts and get into people's minds. If you've also been a fan of the group for so long and have watched the first campaign Laura would talk a lot, she acted like the captain of the group so the fact that she's taken a step back a bit and let other people talk shows growth from her.

@@KatiePolo All the episodes this campaign are pre-recorded, meaning any post show like talks would either need to be prerecorded as well, thus no viewer questions, or done after every premier, at which point the cast would need to remember what happened in each specific episode and not accidentally spoil stuff that hasn’t happened yet. I fear anything onstage would quickly become inaudible. It's hard enough listening to the podcasts with headphones, Laudna gets three words in before she's drowned out by everyone else at the table making noise (although Sam's _'kill a puppy'_ was hilarious). I recognize that most people aren't going to have this problem but for me it's totally become a great gag that's just gone a little too far.

I had a dwarven druid that wove several spellcasting material components into his beard and hair. Everyone thought he was untidy and filthy, but he was just getting ready for a possible jail break. He had a criminal background and didn't mind that people thought he was tribal.
Man I am crying at the 'insight check' moment 3:46:25 between Travis and Laura. Not only is Travis downright hilarious here (and thank the gods he's back) but the ease and joy they get with playing out this scene is frickin wonderful.
At first their enemy was the doors. Then they met the chair and thought that it was the mastermind behind everything. When they thought they where said and done with the chair, a rag tag group of furniture lashed out for revenge! Never did they notice the wall that was closing in around them

Personally, I think Matt just expected them to get to his new character prior to this arc, but the players drove the plot another direction. So, rather than waiting he brought in another one of Travis' greatest hits so Travis would get to play and we viewers would get our Travis fix.
I do think he is going to survive longer than Bertrand. Bertrand was already Level 5 when the rest were Level 3, which was odd from the start. Chetney on the other hand is Level 4, like the rest of them, so i do think he isnt destined to die quite so soon. - That said, i do remember what happened to Molly in the second Campaign. :D
When Laura asked if she could send a message to Chetney and Matt jumped on the idea: that's a seasoned DM right there. You don't let things that will help your story pass by

I don't know how to put this but I just love the way Liam frames his sentences despite this being improv, like he's always reading off a very well-written script. He's a true creative and you can tell. He's probably very adept at dialogue writing.
I recently watched the Shakespeare-themed episode of Gather Your Party, with Liam among other guests. He is SUCH a glorious theatre and classics nerd. (Among his other nerddoms, but he and Sam and maybe Taliesin seem like the most hardcore theatre people, specifically.)
I mean he is the one who gives it all away, the rest manage to read the script as if it is improv ;).

Well, it's good to remember that Warforged are not supposed to be a thing in Exandria. The only intelligent constructs heard of are golems which are already pretty fucking rare and even then, most are really only magically animated tool with barely any personnality. For the average exandrian, encoutering a fully sentient machine like F.C.G. is the real world equivalent of having a smartphone suddenly passing the Turing test and having a flawless conversation with you

I absolutely love that every person they talk to they ask "what's the one word you'd use to describe us?" And each time, they're talking to the same Matt as they did the first time. But, he somehow tricks both the cast and the audience into thinking he's now a completely different person.
He's a clever man of many accents l, personalities and talents.
He's a full city of NPCs in one body, and he pulls it off incredibly well
It's like that moment a few episodes ago where Travis referred to MATT as the person who wasn't real because he was trying to barter with Matt for something for Bertram. Gotta love players that are ABSOLUTELY LIVING in the world they're playing in. Matt draws them in and they completely lean into the spin.

I usually listed to the podcast version and it’s so magical how he makes you forget he’s different people when you’re just listening!
Robbie made a fantastic point. When a party is after information, they typically seek specific information that maybe one or two people might have access to. If they ask more broad questions or for opinions, it won't directly answer their questions but it might lead them to whoever can.
Honestly, Robbie is such a good addition to an RPG table. Even if his ideas aren’t fully feasible (like at Duggar’s place, with the question of if they could cave in the house), they’re usually out of the box and worth asking about, because they at least allow the group to check a theory off the list. He’s got a different perspective from what the CR crew is used to working in, and it’s really neat to see how he analyzes things.

Why did it take until now for me to realize that they could easily travel in disguise as a small circus or sideshow? Laudna is perfect creepshow material, F.C.G. is a spectacle all his own, and Dorian and Fearne love performing. Then you've got Imogen as the bookkeeper/manager, leaving Orym and Ashton as bouncers. It's perfect.

Fearne is an absolute gift. Matt's mentioned several times that Ashley living her best life as Fearne is one of his favorite things about (early) campaign 3, and I totally agree. Makes me retroactively sadder about what we missed out on with Pike and Yasha's absences.

Scanlan was the Bard of Vox Machina so he would likely be the one out of the group go on to perform and retell the events at the end of Campaign 1 when Vox Machina defeated Vecna The Ascended, who was a god. Hope this helps!
@@mixter1257 i don't know the details because I haven't watched all episodes and its been a while but scanlan was a bard and considered himself a lover and performer first. He would have loved to have a one man show about himself. He also tends to blow things up to be bigger than they are. For example he had this persona with the title "kingslayer" and while its true that he helped kill a king, he pretends its bigger than it is and as if he is more honourable. "To kill a god" is such a grand thing that he'd love as a performance about himself.
Now it might be much easier than this and he might have lied about having such a piece written about himself before or he wrote the piece himself but I either missed it or I forgot.

I like, specifically, how you could tell he was improvising on the spot and presented it as a scribble akin to an arrow or the sort. Then thought like: "These guys won't get it" as then proceeded to state, that it literally read "OUTSIDE" XD
Sometimes you gotta just move it along, for your sake and the players sake. Aint nothing more boring then when they clearly arent picking up on whatever hint you had planned for them to pick up on and the sessions grinds to a halt whilst they try and figure out what to do.
In the discussion prior to them getting to the basement, he had an NPC say "outside" twice and even introduced evidence that one of the missing liked to take smoke breaks. He also made a point of saying that the janitor did not have keys to the basement. After missing that many clues, he had no choice but to resort to crayons. XD
@rault114 it's not that they missed the clues, but rather they intelligently decided to check out the place throughly, you know, like characters that they're playing. There are a number of factors that led them to flip the theater before moving outside( Laura even went straight outside and said she was going to so many times, so I'm confused on what you thought they did wrong), such as being stalked by Dugger not long ago, who used holes from the inside of buildings to do his work from, and it's clear that the players were looking for these holes to make sure that this what or what wasn't happening.
"I'm leaving" is now my response to any questioning of my actions. Fern is so damn funny.

Chutney (from the Christmas one-shot), reworked as Chetney, the wood-working gnome, is absolutely brilliant.
Travis bringing back the greatest hits means his characters already have a decent amount of experience, people are already somewhat familiar with them and their personalities -- (both the rest of the players as well as the audience watching), and if he wants to bring back **another** character as they go along, it means he's not just stuck with a single character he has to build up and figure out a backstory for as they go along through their adventuring.
I mean, he's still got his one-shot werewolf, and he's got Macaroni Samsonite as well, if he needs other options to work with of anything happens to Chetnet.
It never hurts to have a backup plan or two at the ready if needed. ^__^

@@secretname3897 and? What if she has ADD we don't know, never assume. I love Laura no matter how she acts in sessions. The reason for maybe those two lines is because you C3 character is like an introvert (as are so many of us) and don't like big crowds. That and her sorcerer is an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer so they tend to be a bit more reserved because they can hear thoughts and get into people's minds. If you've also been a fan of the group for so long and have watched the first campaign Laura would talk a lot, she acted like the captain of the group so the fact that she's taken a step back a bit and let other people talk shows growth from her.

What will likely happen is it'll go to Dani Carr, then the whole show will be shipping questions and other useless inanity.
@@KatiePolo All the episodes this campaign are pre-recorded, meaning any post show like talks would either need to be prerecorded as well, thus no viewer questions, or done after every premier, at which point the cast would need to remember what happened in each specific episode and not accidentally spoil stuff that hasn’t happened yet. It just wouldn’t work

I fear anything onstage would quickly become inaudible. It's hard enough listening to the podcasts with headphones, Laudna gets three words in before she's drowned out by everyone else at the table making noise (although Sam's _'kill a puppy'_ was hilarious).
I recognize that most people aren't going to have this problem but for me it's totally become a great gag that's just gone a little too far.

I had a dwarven druid that wove several spellcasting material components into his beard and hair. Everyone thought he was untidy and filthy, but he was just getting ready for a possible jail break. He had a criminal background and didn't mind that people thought he was tribal.

Personally, I think Matt just expected them to get to his new character prior to this arc, but the players drove the plot another direction. So, rather than waiting he brought in another one of Travis' greatest hits so Travis would get to play and we viewers would get our Travis fix.
I do think he is going to survive longer than Bertrand. Bertrand was already Level 5 when the rest were Level 3, which was odd from the start. Chetney on the other hand is Level 4, like the rest of them, so i do think he isnt destined to die quite so soon. - That said, i do remember what happened to Molly in the second Campaign. :D
