Any moments I missed? Feel free to post them here. Is it Thursday yet?
❤️FLANDO❤️
HOW
Literally how. You're a God of some kind
YOU THE MAN
FR FR
YOU ARE A GOD. ALL BOW TO FLANDO!
An old man just witnessed a big half goat lady turn into a little frog, a mostly dead lady tie yarn around said frog and shove it into a fountain for shits and giggles, while an old man is feeling up and sniffing a tree while everyone else stands around like this is normal. I'd be freaking tf out if I was an NPC around Bells Hells
For real, Orym’s the only normal one in this group but the rest of them are basically The Munsters. You got a statuesque faun, a robot, a werewolf, a corpse lady, Southern-fried Jean Grey, and a literal punk rock. This crew makes the Darrington Brigade look like The Band of the Hawk.
@@Mezmero Southern-fried Jean Grey is the perfect description
@@Mezmero So Orym's Marilyn then?
@@Mezmero Southern-fried Jean Grey is perfect, it's embedded into my mind now

Finally, the Trifecta.
Travis is many things, an expert in subtlety he is not 😂
I remember seeing that live but not thinking much about it. Went compared to the other two similar moments, it makes a lot more sense lmao
lmao nice catch
Can someone explain? I’m not getting it 😅
@@mountaingirl435 Take a look at Travis when the name is dropped by Matt.
I always watch with subtitles. When discussing the coasters I heard Matt say, "Those coasters are thick." I went back because I wanted to see how the subtitle editors spelled it. Of course, they spelled it "thicc".
You do a great job, subtitle editors. We will never forget what you do.
Peace.
They really do! When I can’t understand what someone said I go back and turn the subtitles on, it’s almost always there 👌🏻
Everyone who does the captioning is amazing, they do such a good job!!
I read this in sync with him actually saying it😂
@@JCircello
Learning names is a thing for sure. When I started watching for the firs time, I hated that I had to learn all their names (real and character) but it's ok in the end.
I'm not a native speaker, so my hubby and I always watch with subtitles - and they're absolutely genius. One of my favourites was in campaign one, where Scanlan turns into a crow and Sam makes a "caw" sound, captioned with "pitiful crow noise", and then Taliesin moves in with "perfect crow imitation". I lost it. The subtitle editors need a ko-fi account. I'd pay.
1:55:50
Liam: I will assist.
Matt: How do you assist?
Liam: *Is Cute*😁
Matt:… sure
Liam's smile is cute 8 y/o asking for McDonald's and it's just so wholesome
To be fair, Orym is tiny and adorable and Liam looked like the meme of the "polite" cat. Of course it worked.
HONESTLY THO no one could say no to that face...
It reminded me of that photo of Liam recreating an elementary school photo by grinning and looking exactly the same despite being 40 years older.
1:13:58 Chetney totally dropped that he can TALK TO ANIMALS and no one noticed. Ashley kinda did, but got distracted.
It's a pretty common thing for gnomes (if you pick the forest gnome subrace) to be able to communicate simple phrases and ideas to small animals.
I am not sure if Chetney can fully talk to animals and understand their speech or in the racial way.
But either way it's cool, and I kinda wished the group picked up on it more :P
Nice, in fairness he's been pulling the "crazy old man" routine a lot. And as she is a druid, he CAN talk to her, they all can lol her intelligence remains the same, the impressive part would be understanding what she's saying back, or ribbitting as the case may be.
Yea, it's still a fun idea. Chetney and Fearn are both such chaotic characters and I love it. Really enjoy their dynamic, and it would be funny to just have a scene between Fearne in an animal form and Chetney.
@@romantheboat9118 I just imagine it going like chetney will attempt talking to fearne in animal form
and then she literally makes animal noises at him to mess around
@@romantheboat9118 as a lycanthrope he can speak to wolves too.

Sam using an innocent question to determine whether they had a cleric is another example of how Sam is way better at this game than he gives himself credit for.
I thought so too! Definitely adding that to my playbook.
i kinda dont get it tho, cant a cleric not pray in that moment?
@@joaomartins3367 oh for sure, but they specifically said they weren't the religious types. They could be lying, but there's not much reason to.
Sam had a couple of next-level roleplay moves in this one, like getting the store owner to tell them everything the other group bought.
That's a perfect example of social engineering. The method hackers use to gain access to computer accounts.
Matt needs to have an NPC who is really friendly and nice, but every time Imogen reads his thoughts, he is thinking an endless string of foul insults.
I also have a need for this. We gotta get some darkness in the mind-reading....Imogen has said things can get really uncomfortable and gross at times...but we haven't been shown it actually happening yet. And it absolutely would happen...at some point. There's gotta be some shopkeeper or other NPC who's a leering creep or racist or something.
@@AnxietyRat I’ll bet that is coming later, when Imogen is higher level. But you’re right; it’s surprising they haven’t run into it already.
True story, I had a friend who was relatively friendly and nice, if a little odd at times. Who isnt though, right? Anyway one night he was going to do some mushrooms with some other friends, and I was the designated babysitter. after a while, we were all sitting around a campfire, and this friend starts externalizing his internal monologue without realizing it. just mumbling at a perfectly audible level like "who the fuck does he think he is? He thinks he's special because he can play the guitar and sing? I bet I could learn to play the guitar if I had the time. It's not special. It doesn't make you interesting." And on and on. It was wild. I imagine that's probably how Imogen feels around people.
That's just any retail worker
@@tiril6681 Ha!
Remember in Uthodurn that guy in the library who was studying the moons…. He tried to tell them about the little red moon… interesting. So glad we’re getting world lore with the moons this campaign! I love it!
I just thought of that!!!
He was so salty about being brushed off in C2 that he wrote an entire official adventure about it
Imogen: "I love this town! Laudna, let's move here after everything"
They seem like very good friends
Like that Sappho lady with her friend
Just gals being pals
And they were roommates
Bet they write each other elaborate poetry.
@@coledibiase5971 yes, the friendly poetry only the friendliest of friendly friends write for their friends.
I'm obsessed with Ashley as Fearne. Her inspecting Imogen's markings and then saying that she isn't staring intently at Imogen or anything is yet another moment of perfect humor and chaos for her.
I kind of thought it was sweet that she was going to lie and say if was normal to not worry her.
i like how she spins the character as naive/dumb, yet mischievous at the same time. a total goofball.
Imogen’s dream (and Laura’s amazing acting) had me so freaking tense, and then Ashley immediately made it fun again with Fearne’s antics. The hand in the pocket and the “I’ll help you” absolutely killed me.
Seriously. I've always loved everyone in the crew including Ashley, but I've also always felt her characters were a bit lacking, mainly if not exclusively due to her time away from the games. Now she's 100% in the campaign for realsies, and I think she might've made the most interesting fantasy character I've ever seen. Definitely up there with my other two favorites, Scanlan and Jester.
@@GeeGe. I’d agree with this. Also, I found that a lot of good Pike moments for me personally were of Matt as Pike. Fearne’s chaotic nature matches Ashley’s though, but it is still early in the campaign so I’m hoping the depth of the character will develop. Whereas for the other characters in the party I’m already invested in.
Every episode I'm more and more convinced that Laudna is naming all her stuff after the things she ate during her last meal at the palace.
Considering she was also fixated on the fur-lined blouses that the "fancy ladies in Tal'dorei" (aka Vex) wore, very likely her last, worst day was pretty much also one of her best and most memorable before it all went to shit.
Thats Trauma right there
I was not expecting that to be her characters back story. It truly is a dark and sad story. Has she said who or what she is looking for yet? They've mentioned grog pike Scanlan and keylith. Idk if I'm missing any others. But I'm curious what's she's going after.
@@robertarrowood3651 i mean the group itself only really knows about Keyleth and maybe Percy, but they don't seem to know much about Vox machina

This joke never gets old.
I love how Ashton always kind of strikes as a standoffish kind of character that might be the sort to brush off what's going on around him. But instead he keeps showing a real interest and and amazement in the things they come across. As if you'd expect Ashton to at most give a disinterested grunt, but instead is usually blurting out "This is fuckin' great" to things like creepy dolls and telescopes.
He's my favorite character so far!
I fucking love Ashton. They remind me so much of so many real life punks I know; they look kind of stand offish but are very go with the flow, chill, and enthusiastic people who will sit down and draw on sidewalks with chalk with some kids at the park as readily as they'll fist fight someone for harassing a woman at a bar. And Taliesin plays them so well too (I'm sure there's real life experience he's drawing from lol). This man just keeps churning out the Characters I Can't Help But Love With Whatever Remains Of My Heart
I love him so much the more I know him
Ashton is Caduceus if Cad was a buff asshole.

I love the idea that FCG is inexplicably an anti-science automaton, because Milo kept hitting "Remind me later" on the update popup.
I choose to believe what I was programmed to believe
knowing the celestial bodies are as they are has nothing to do with science and evertyhing to do with understanding nature, which is what 'good' science is about, whereas, 'bad' science is about manipulating, controlling, perverting, destroying, nature - these things have been known for millennia (no, it was not galileo)

For the curious it takes like 3200m to make an adult sweater (depending on the pattern) & I will probably need to buy more yarn. 1:16:18
Thank you sweater making side of the fandom, I appreciate the information

Thank you to whoever does the subtitles! I am not hard of hearing, but I do have audio processing issues. Basically, I heard what someone said, but my brain will need 30 seconds to a minute to piece it together. Being able to read it while it is said is super helpful! So, thank you!
As a non-native english speaker i definitely can say the same, specially considering tons of references that are often too local or terms and names lore-related to the show per se.
I really really appreciate the names being written!! When they are spelled out verbally...I'm lost. Being able to visually see it ...is great.
They hired a professional to caption the episodes for just that reason!
Supporting accessibility has so many benefits to everyone.
I'm a native English speaker with no impairments yet I turn them on for several reasons: the live nature of the chatter causes some things to be muffled or hard to hear over cross talk; I have an infant so sometimes listening in low volume if she is napping next door; and often the times I have to watch are doing chores like washing dishes so I can't hear well over running water or other kitchen noises.
Captions are so beneficial in fantasy imo

@@TimStamper89 there will be some monster with a billion hit points and a fatal allergy to limes.
I think Matt did a great job as a DM when he told the group that a lot of the tools were already sold out, implying that there was an opportunity cost for the group to have talked about the moon for an hour with an npc instead of getting supplies first.
I also feel that it was a brilliant way of giving the players a chance to figure out what their opponents in the heist had at their disposal. It was equally brilliant of Sam to catch on to this and deceive the shop keeper to tell them what exactly their competitors bought. Just a gem of a RP moment for me.
You win the use of an economic concept in a D&D discussion award for the day.
If they end up going to the moon... Fern deserve a gift for calling that out.

Final Fantasy IV ended on the moon...Matt is a huge FF fan and Campaign 2's BBEG was supposed to be an homage to JRPG final boss forms like Kefka and Sephiroth...it's not looking unlikely.
I’m hoping Matt didn’t expend all his Final Fantasy homages on C2. Let’s get a Lunatic Pandora style monolith, let’s get some Lunar Cries going, let’s board a magic space whale and go to the freakin’ moon!
I didn’t remember until this episode that Keyleth was a Circle of the Moon Druid.
Imagining Fearne getting damaged and turning back into herself, submerged in water, with an opening too small to pass through made me very anxious
That would've been totally on brand for Fearne, though... remember earlier in the campaign, when she got stuck as a rat trying to squeeze under Dugger's door and Matt said something like, "You're stuck. This is your life now"? 😂
She could just turn herself back into whatever else small and try again

That Moon has been so suspicious for so long! In Campaign 2 watching them brush off the Moon specialist guy I was screaming at them to ask more questions because that was definitely TOO specific to not be important later lol. 1:16:16 A knitter just watching their minds be blown at how much yarn is in a typical skein. You sweet summer children, you have no idea.
As a knitter who ended up using only half of what a pattern called for to make a nine-foot scarf (yes, it was the Doctor Who scarf) and still made it a good foot and a half longer than the pattern...I have to agree. I only got a couple skeins for each color, too. And those were rather small skeins! There's a lot very tightly wrapped in those little things.
Crocheter here and I was also laughing at how shocked they were at 200m. That's actually a small skien! Especially if it were fingering weight...the last one I bought at that weight was 1 km.
This is actually my favorite episode so far, I get that some people might think it's slow-paced, but we also got tons of lore about the moon and that's something that has been haunting me for YEARS.
I don't understand people still griping about a slow pace. That's the brand. It's always been the brand. The "slow" stuff with the lore and character work is what sets this apart from your average table. It's the combat encounters in these shows that bore me. Running battle with 7 characters is a slog. I prefer the storytelling and the acting.
1:12:07 Taliesin's "I'm so excited to see what your next character's going to be" kinda slipped by, but it SLEW me :D
After the shade Travis throw at him in the Talks show '4 sided dive' it had to come...
Given Travis's fondness for monstrous characters (a big burly Goliath, a half-orc and while Chetney is a gnome, he IS also a werewolf), I for one would love to see him play a hobgoblin. They have interesting lore in Matt's setting, and pretty good features and stats too.
The absolute pure wholesomeness of Sam and Matt. Sam "I'm actually a little bit ashamed of being in a position of happiness and privilege as a kid but it's okay if my friends tease me about it" Riegal and Matt "I had to rake leaves to afford the game I wanted and am now wildly successful and happily married to a beautiful best friend and still get to be a geek every week but dammit I still remember that rake!" Mercer.
These doofuses...
And gets his ring pop occasionally, too
I love how Matt ended last episode by saying he has to prep for this one and they end up going down a random fountain in the middle of a garden. He has to be dying inside cause there’s no way he could have peeped for this lmao.
Fun thing. Preparing for everything only to find himself under-prepared is Mat's favourite thing
I love seeing the tells when people are really into Matt's lore drops. Especially Marisha when she crouches on her chair, you can tell how into it she is and I love it
