Still gettin used to the snow day repairs eh bud? Glad to see you're doing well and cant wait to see the big van back on the road! With what you said about your gloves, jeep a couple pairs on the dash when the heat is on. I swap my pairs out when my hands get cold to make sure i always have a warm pair. Thats life for me in Alaska being mobile.

I added a kill switch to my battery on the groundwire so it prevents your battery from dying when it's coold outside or when you leave your car parked over a longer periode.And yes I have a jmpstarter as well in my car, saved me many times. I own a Suzuki Esteem/Baleno but I want to put American style tail lights, they are hard to find and when I find them on ebay they either don't ship to Europe or they are over the top expensive. My car is 21 years old,turning 22 in July.
Love my Rx300 such a hustle free car after owning a Audi Q5. Just gotta keep up with cleaning off salt cause of rust. Great work. Taught me a trick of hanging the rotor inside out to clean lol

Ernest , How come you don't use NoCo pads ? I've used them for years and they really do stop terminal corrosion .
You ever thought about moving to a non snowing state?
Been thinking about doing this as a side job for extra money as I have almost every too you could need with my main job however most places down south like Autozone will do free battery replacements how do you make money doing that? I under brakes paying well they are easy for the most part but thinking how can it be profitable on some jobs or is it about build a customer base? 🤔

You kind of have to replace rotors when you do pads? I've never done that on my own vehicles... I guess I replace the pads before they wear into the metal... :)
Yes you have to either turn the rotors with a machine or replace them, replacing is the better option. I'm going to guess you haven't been lubing the guide pins with silicone either, your vehicle having the ability to stop is important, let someone that knows what they're doing handle it.
@@COBRO98 Badguess. I've done my own brakes plenty of times, I always lube the guide pins, and ensure the caliper is free. I've also never turned my own rotors, and I've never had vibration on braking or any other issues. Sure, if I had vibration or other issues, I would replace the rotors. Otherwise, seems a waste to me.
How do you charge? Do you charge for the call out and the work? also do you use all data or Mitchell for the amount of time it's supposed to take?
alldata. i normally charge a call out and the labor/parts that alldata sugests. yeah. friends and family dont pay for "Travel/callout"

What did you use to push the caliper pistons back in? Looked like they were pushed out pretty far there.
I have a problem and was wondering if anyone can help, I have codes p0171-P0174-P1131-P1151. Have to hold brake and gas to keep the engine from sputtering off even at red lights. Rpm drops low and will shut off after shaking if it’s not given gas. 2001 Lincoln Navigator v8 rwd.

It's not a troll if you understand the absolute basics of how electricity works..
Do you have a flat call out fee or does it change with different mileage jobs?
i do, a lot of times it gets added to the total. (But I could realy only start doing this once I was well established, since it raises the overal price.) If its a simple job i usualy forgoe the added "Call out fee" which grows the further I have to travel away.

I am saving up to buy the rest of the parts. about half way there in terms of what we have. I'm hoping to have the videos on it getting the motor ready this ealy spring.

Not trying to judge but I’m just always so blown away when someone can’t change out a car battery. I don’t know if you should own a car if you can’t change your own battery .
The convince is what create work for roadside rescue, People need convince in many things that's how Ernest thrives his business no matter the level of repair you need, Props to Ernest for taking on the Jobs throughout the whole year cold or hot.
Unless you have a Chrysler sedan from the 1990s-2000s the battery in the fender crap was annoying.

Always short videos? I never watch unless it's worth it, at least 50 minutes
Quality over quantity my friend.
I'm actually quite the opposite. I'll choose a shorter video over a really long one. Most people don't have almost an hour to sit and watch one video. If they do, they probably have too much time on their hands.
With me it depends. I like long form video essays which can run in three multiple hours. I just keep them playing in the background. Videos like this require more attention. About 20 mins give it take ten is my average. Sometimes up to an hour.
