      @@TheAppliancePlug hey buddy I just installed the same dishwasher and I won't turn on. Only thing I can think of is when I hooked up the ground wire to the green screw I put the wire in between the washer that was on the green screw ,is the wire suppost to be above the washer thingy touching the metal part of the unit itself.

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulpersons799 hey Paul! It’s a little difficult to clearly explain in words. Fast forward to the step when I connect the electrical and follow it precisely. Look around underneath the dishwasher and make sure nothing appears to be unplugged. If everything looks ok, pickup a cheap tester and make sure the dishwasher is getting power. You might have a tripped gfi at one of your outlets in kitchen area.

    • @paulpersons799
      @paulpersons799 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheAppliancePlug yeah the wire was already wired into the wall for my old dishwasher. My old dishwasher was working. So it must be tripped going or something come loose under new dishwasher. It's for a friend's house , so I'm going back up there in a few days . What and how do I do about the tripped gfi. Do I get a fuse or something. I really appreciate u helping me 😁😁

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulpersons799 no problem. I would first look at the wiring under the dishwasher and make sure the wire nuts are snug and no loose connections. That’s really important so you don’t get a short. Then go to the breaker box and confirm the breaker for the dishwasher isn’t tripped. After that locate gfi outlets above countertops which can be reset in the middle of the outlet. Good luck!

    Awesome video, however, I have a very dumb question: water supply is the hot or cold line?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

      Water supply connects to hot line. It’s even recommended you run the hot water on your faucet before you start your dishwasher so that it fills with hot water from the start. The built-in heating element helps keep the water hot throughout the cycle and heat up hotter when you choose sanitize or high temp cycles, but because they are connected to standard 120V electric, they don’t really get enough power to heat cold water in an efficient time. Thanks for watching!

    excellent instructions. We need to replace our 12 year old Fridigaire Gallary DW. Do you have any suggestions on the best three models (any brand) of DW that I should think of buying that are less than $700?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate your feedback. My primary suggestions will be to go with a dishwasher that has a stainless steel interior.
      Check out this selection of dishwashers to consider:
      www.theapplianceplug.com/_CGI/SEARCH3.HTML?MAN_SORT=KTA%7CWHIRL%7CLG&HAS_STAINLESS_TUB=YES&MAJOR=DISH&DIM_W_SORT=21.0:27.0&PRICE=1
      These are on our website. If you’re not in the Tampa Bay Area, it probably won’t make sense for us to ship it at this time, However, you can at least look at these for suggestions and some of the ones that are over $700 do go on sale at times so you can keep an eye out for holiday sales.

    You should never connect the wires through a sharp metal hole without using a junction box clamp. This keeps the vibrations of the machine from having the edges of the metal from cutting the wires and shorting out. (at 13:43) If you're buying just one, better go to the hardware store.

    Nice install video, but what about leveling?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you think so. It shouldn’t be visibly leaning to the back and if it’s off level on either side the door won’t close properly or potentially leak from the door seal. It will also leak if it’s leaning forward. So, it needs to be level as accurate as possible. If you open the dishwasher door, the frame of the dishwasher should be square with the cabinet, assuming the cabinet is level. Best option is using a level and checking the front, top, and both sides. Check out the part in this video when I’m leveling the dishwasher for clarity. You will want to get the leveling feet started before sliding the dishwasher in place because they are difficult to break loose. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    How would you operate this dishwasher? You have the top Manuel under the cabinets.

    We just installed our dishwasher and started a cycle, my husband didn’t hear anything so he opened it. Now I have the Clean, Wash and Sanitize lights are all blinking and we can’t do anything with it now. Can you give me any advice

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time when you start a cycle and open the door, it pauses the cycle. All you have to do is press the start button button to continue. When you first start a cycle it takes a few seconds sometimes to kick on, especially for the first cycle you run after installation. If that doesn't work, just turn your breaker off and turn it back on to reset it. Make sure your water is turned on and your drain is free of any blockage including the plug in a garbage disposal if your drain is connected to one. Let me and other viewers know if that works! Thanks for watching!

      😂 first one I installed probably took me about 4 hours but the reward is getting it done and seeing it in action especially if you’re happy with the outcome of the installation. Give it a shot and let me know if you have any questions!

    Do you know what size 90 degree brass fitting you used on the blue water supply port? I had a hard time finding anything to fit at the hardware store and I was too scared to cross thread the plastic port.

    Question: in your videos the sink is always to the left of dishwasher & for me my sink is on the right side of my unit-I was wanting a GE but the drain hose on all them are manufactured on the left side of dishwasher which means I would have to run the drain hose longer to go across the unit to the right side-thus worried that it will not drain properly.
    Am I wrong for this assumption or should I be looking for another make that manufactures their units with the drain hose on the right side of dishwasher like Fridgidaire. I’m only interested in Maytag, kichenaide, GE, Amana & Whirlpool - Thanks in advance

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! No, you do not need to reselect a dishwasher. They are manufactured to be installed to either side of the sink. The drain hose is long enough to reach if the dishwasher is located directly next to the sink. What’s important for draining properly, is making sure the drain hose isn’t rain like a roller coaster and elevated higher than the drain connection so that water doesn’t back flow into the dishwasher. Let me know if this makes sense. Thanks for watching!

      @rtb3808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAppliancePlug In advance thank you for replying..so basically make sure I run the hose up to the hole to feed it through to disposal without the hose looking like a wavy up & down "rollercoaster" correct? And yes...great instructional videos sir! Well done!

    Sad thing is , everything should come with the dishwasher. Even if they bump the cost, having to stop what I'm doing and run get the peice to install the water flow. If I had the money and means I'd produce products that would actually last and give my customers everything they need to get it going in the same day. So sad all these companies are suck garbage but the vidoe was helpful

    Hey there, just finished the video (had to watch it in stages), and I have a couple of questions. #1 - I didn’t see rubber sleeves on the hinge arms of your demo DW. Our new Frigidaire DW has them. The old DW I removed was the same width as new one (obviously) but I found, as I was trying to fit it in the space, it’s NOT FITTING! I then saw the rubber sleeves and wondered if they need to be removed or… I gotta get this damned DW in! Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼

    There is no reason in hell a dishwasher install video should be 46 minutes long😱

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If you know what you are doing it shouldn't take 45 mins. However, I am recording a TH-cam video and try to go over every single detail so that even a beginner can successfully install a dishwasher.

      This VERY obviously for people who have no idea how plumbing, electric or appliances...which if you read the comments it's very clear it's what they needed. I'm not by my brother and verbally telling him wasn't cutting it. This covered everything (besides mentioned that some dishwashers don't have a ground nut and has 3 wires) that he needed to know. Excellent video. What seems simple to you and me might not be for others. He did great

    How level must it be?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  ปีที่แล้ว

Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
