However I found this video and tried to do this level. I got it close to actual level and it was back to the count down. So back it went to my "guess". But now I have this in my back pocket. Thanks!

    I added aluminum tape to the bottom of my countertop to prevent warping. My old laminate countertop had warped considerably from the dishwasher steam, but it was very old.

    • @PartsDr
      @PartsDr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a good idea! Some of the newer dishwashers like the LG shown in the video don't vent the steam out the top of the door like some of the older dishwashers so that shouldn't be an issue.

    One good thing to do with a Dishwasher, is Lean it back a bit. Not to a extreme but just enough so water doesn't pool at the front. If your ever getting a bit of leaking at the front edge of the door, this can help. Of course if there is a seal issue or broken part that's leaking, then the part in question will need to be replaced.

    • @PartsDr
      @PartsDr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with noise levels is that they are hard to compare over the internet. Make sure that none of the insulation pieces are missing and that the bottom cover is installed. It isn't the quietest dishwasher that we have tested but quiet enough that we were able to talk right next to the running dishwasher in this video here; th-cam.com/video/G7lxR9WlOIw/w-d-xo.html

    Did you make a hole on the counter-top for the main electric wire of the dishwasher to reach up to the plug point?

    • @PartsDr
      @PartsDr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The power supply to the dishwasher can vary depending on the area that you live and the electrical code requirements. Most commonly the electrical outlet for the dishwasher is installed in the cabinet next to the dishwasher and it is sometimes shared with the garbage disposal. You may want to contact a local electrician for further details.

    On some sinks next to faucet, what is the thing that seems to be some kind of air release vent(?), when the dishwasher is draining? Do you have to have this?

    • @PartsDr
      @PartsDr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Juli, what you are describing is called an air gap. An air gap is an anti-backflow device to prevent water from the house from backing up into the dishwasher. It is code in some areas and it is required to install and air gap. In our area there is no requirement to install an air gap so we drilled the hole up as high as possible for the drain hose which creates a loop which also prevent backflow (show at 1:24).
