Imagine how awesome it would be if during a game of DnD, your party entered a large, suspicious looking room. You're using these tiles, but you've never seen the summoning circles before. Suddenly the DM announces that a summoning circle blazes to life on the floor. Then he actually leans over, presses the tile and the glowing red circle suddenly appears! Minds blown.
I play nothing that could use this. I don't need this in the slightest. There's absolutely no reason for me to get this.
I'm still getting it.

This is awesome. I've said this before but I'd love to try D&D with Naomi as DM. Especially with all of her fancy extra stuff like this. Also she is a master of the wavy sound effect 😉

Well, there's another thing that's just become a must-buy.
I am thinking some small magnets or magnet tape in the corners to keep the top in place would be nice.
Thats been my biggest issue with it so far. Definitely want to try some sort of magnet to keep it in place. I find it a little strange it doesnt come with that already installed

that adds so much in terms of immersion, just wish they would have more of the led pads included in the box.
That's quite a good piece and I dare say that one with more colour options might come out at some point. Or that some could make a base that uses the tiles with Aura RGB for pc's and controll the lights that way.

Thanks Naomi! These tiles are indeed a great addition. Wizkids are bringing out some very nice kits recently. Perhaps others have mentioned it already, the flickering on the camera is due the facts the LED’s are constantly switching on and off, at a high frequency. This is how they control the light output. You should be able to compensate by changing the frame rate off your camera, I think.
Do you have any Dwarven Forge? Would love to see you do some unboxing and reviews of it.
Hi Naomi, to stop the flicker you need to match the camera fps to the light hertz or a division of, ie, if its 60 then a fps of 30. Hope that made sense.

One could use photography flash gels to change the colors over the lights. Infinite possibilities...
With those this would only need to do white light.

Look really good to me, but i'll preffer 'em in yellow, red, blue and green; that way i think they'll portrait better the magic power, "evil", water and poison stereotipes.

These are really cool!
The wavy motion is just the frame per seconds. All light flicker and are on for 1000th second and off for 1000th second. Those numbers are made up but light flicker on and off thousands of times per second and the camera records frames per second. But any way those title are cool.

Actually slightly disappointing compared to some of the Adafruit stuff - the LED board is pretty basic - but infinitely better than what we had before: dungeon floors which *_didn't_* light up...
And if I'm being all engineer-y, I'd replace the clicky switch in the middle with a Hall-effect sensor (responds to magnetism), put three dial switches on the underside - one for light mode (on full/pulsing/etc), one for light colour, and one for activation mode... and put a tiny magnet on a plastic stick as a 'wand' for the DM to tap the circle to make it light up... because you could then put a magnet in the base of your summoned demon (or evil wizard), and the circle will glow while he's standing in the centre and go out as soon as he's moved!

There doesn't seem to be any way of holding the 2 parts together. How about a couple of bits of Velcro?
Too thick, but you could use a tiny bit of blu tack.
