- Today we continue our hike from Grindelwald to Zermatt by hiking from Kandersteg up and over to Leukerbad.
We hit some bad weather and get as remote as we have ever been so far on this adventure in the Swiss Alps.

I’m so glad to show us that we don’t need to walk the most difficult parts….it’s ok to take the gondola or train. I did that myself this summer too

Paddy, loved this episode. You had me on the edge of my seat when you started up that rising part of your trek, I'm like, he's got low socks, shorts, and sneakers on (though you called them hiking shoes, lol) and walking through snow with no walking stick(s) for goodness sake, and all the while you were loving the remote terrifyingly scariness of it. True Paddy Doyle next level adventure stuff going on here you crazy man, you. Loved that! So glad the trail was at least marked (sort of) and no Swiss Alps ski patrol was needed to be sent out after the wild man trekking ill-equipped in their mountains That bad weather held off for you, too, amazing! Unreal scenery all around everywhere. Looking forward to the next episode, so Stay Healthy, Happy and Safe, my friend.

What a great EPIC series Paddy i love it. If you struggle in such early spring snowy conditions use trekking poles and microspikes. Crampoons would be overkill.

Paddy be careful when you are up to high. Less oxygen there, if you are not use to it just take it slow.., your gear is not for snow. You should follow the trail all ways. Be cautious 😮 this video raising my adrenaline..❤

20:44 you can mostly get away with late June, all depends on the winter season really.
Mate, that was an awesome vlog, but you scared the sh*t out of me! Given what you experienced before, when you last tried to hike on snow, I was half expecting you to go through something. I'm glad you came out relatively unscathed, but dude, when you're doing things like like, concentrate on watching where you're going, you don't need to vlog it when it's that risky!
You are a credit to your occupation buddy, given how difficult it looked crossing that snow, and you're still doing your trademark camera shots, which means you're doing the same crossing multiple times. Awesome, simply awesome!! 👏

I've been in the (Austrian) Alps once, when I was a kid some 33 years ago. Remember it being beautiful around Christmas time, went skiing with the whole family.

I was hiking the whole route from Kandersteg to Leukerbad in two days with my school class. First stop on the little lake (Daubensee), sleeping in a cold mountain hut in a sleeping bag. It was a rainy windy day and we wasn’t in a good mood 😢. The way down the steep face was horrific, but we did it! By the way your equipment is not working properly in high mountains. Good shoes and long pants are helping for better comfort. And of course we check the route and the weather before we start a long hike. Safety first. I hope you enjoyed your adventure 😅

Hi Paddy, it's nice to see that we viewers make it for you possible to do that Next Adventures with no costs for us, ok some advertising lifetime but that's ok. I only driven with Motorbikes or Cars through Switzerland to Italy or Spain, because it's too expensive for a stay for me as german, but it's so clean, greatest landscapes, neutral in all politic stuff and since long ago the best salary paid in Europe. What dates were you doing this hike? I would've thought in summer there wouldn't be that much snow on this pass
So I'm in eastern switzerland until july mountains are covered, and last week when almost all snow vanished it snowed again.(it's actually smaller mountains like ~2500m.)
Weather in the mountains is a bit strange and season might give you a wrong confidence about the weather.
You should have been carrying a pair of spikes for your shoes.

Love the Switzerland series! I don’t usually watch travel vlogs while traveling, but I can’t help it with this series.
Paddy you shouldn't walk across thick snow like that without big snowshoes.
Snowshoes spread your weight evenly across the surface. Which reduces your chances of falling through.
Hikers and skiers die every year from falling into thick snow and they get trapped and can't dig their way out.

Going to take a pass on Switzerland, we see that white stuff 7 straight months here in Minnesota.
Oh yeah, it can get real scary up there. One moment you're having an excellent day and the next you're wondering if you're going to make it. Those alps are so so unforgiving. I've been living in Switzerland for 25 years and had similar experiences, especially Snowboarding. Go off the track just a bit and you quickly get into situations that seriously make you wonder if this could be the last day of your life. It's really no joke, and even though you were smiling I bet you were pretty scared. One wrong move and bust your ankle and it could be a nightmare. Especially the season you were there with no other hikers or tourists. Anyway, hope you enjoyed a few of the lovely Thermal Baths down in Leukerbad. We were there last year and had a fun time.
A pair of gaiters and a hiking stock wouldn't have gone astray.

You're my favourite vlogger because I appreciate the honesty of your videos. I really enjoyed this video (and this whole series in fact) but I find the bird tweets you've been adding in the edit really annoying!! Stay true to what you see, don't try to artificially prettify things like other vloggers.
Stunning landscapes in Switzerland? Of course. But other than that? Where are the smiling faces of locals You used to show us? Paddy, I guess You'd be far better off showing us the beauty of the countrys and locals in SouthEastAsia.
I enjoyed the first episodes of this series but in the end it has now become a bit too much of the same unfortunately. You should have tried to mix things up a bit more for this series.
