I first want to say thank you for this tutorial. I understand the tremendous work that goes into creating them. I consider myself an intermediate 3D artist and I was able to follow your explanation. However, I think for those who are not as seasoned would struggle with trying to duplicate this example. I have taken into consideration that this may not have been targeted towards beginners but I suggest if you want more view and subscribers that you keep them in mind when creating your tutorial videos. I think the beginner could have gained a wealth of knowledge from this tutorial had you created everything on screen rather than explain the results. Keep up the good work!
Not exactly. Although you could probably get same/similar results. Think of aiLayer as literally one layer on top of another, whereas aiMix gives more control to "mix" the shaders... think more like "blending" layers. You could probably use mix to do this example, but I think it would have been more complicated to do it that way.
Great work 🔥🔥🔥. I just thinking about this type of technique even exist in Maya and suddenly found your video 🔥🔥
did you merge the displacement
Great way of teaching

I can't get Layer 2 to show. No matter what sort of mask I use, it just won't appear :(
Thanks!
So, basically, the aiLayerShader is like the aiMixShader, except that you can mix more shaders, or did I miss something?
Also, thanks for the tuto!
