    Probably know this by now but for anyone else watching, when using a utility node like a black and white mask, under the "color balance" drop down in the file node, you'll see a checkbox that says "alpha is luminance" which should be enabled for a mask to work in the layered shader

    Awesome, you have inspired me to start back into modeling. I used 3Ds max back in 1996. Graduated High School and was granted a pass to working for ILM for ten years. Maya has made things so much easier. What books would you suggest getting back into modeling with Maya.

    Has the sweep mesh been removed from Maya? I've been trying to find it but can't

    80% of the tutorial has nothing to do with the Arnold Layered Shader node. Just trim the fat, have a scene ready before-hand (meshes, light setup, etc) and focus on the topic. You even had to google a dirt mask on the spot, in the middle of a tutorial.

    • @Nexttut
      @Nexttut  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to turn the plug in on in the plug in manager
      . Then just press Tab and write "substance" and it should appear there
