It has been four months since the last upload, so first off I need to apologize for the radio silence and thank those of you who reached out with care and concern. All is well, in fact it has been a car project that has been taking up almost all of my time. I was convinced I could get it done by July... then August... and it is still in pieces all over the garage and house. I've been struggling, for years now, to find a balance between these projects, the videos covering them, and every other aspect of life. Obviously I am still working on that balance, but I'm hoping that changing the way videos go together will help in the future. I may not be fast (same goes for my cars), but videos will keep on coming and the encouragement and support from all of you means the world and makes the work entirely worth it! Thank you all!
this is easily one of my absolute favorite channels. right up there with Junkyard Digs. glad to hear everything's okay, take care of yourself and don't worry about the gap between content. we can patiently wait for you to release content that you're proud of and enjoy making.
Don't over work yourself to the point you no longer enjoy it. Please make sure you focus on your mental health. I and I am sure everyone else, are more than happy to wait and follow along. Thank you for putting these out :)
No need for apologies, always a pleasure when a new video drops, but never let it bother you that it takes a long time. Make sure you come first homie.
What makes your videos so great is that you show the real world, down to earth realitys of car building. A lot of these car builder shows really do this hobby a great disservice and make most people think that everything is plug and play, super easy, take it out of box, bolt it on and go but like your videos show, pretty much every component will have to be modified to some extent. It's what makes this hobby so rewarding at the end, getting to see all those hard spent hours of work to finally pay off.
This 100% I also appreciate how he does everything in his power to make sure it's done right; he doesn't just cobble a project together just to push out another video.
FYI, blowers do not need a breather, only pressure relief valve. It is cause when on boost the pressure goes also to the front cover so there is equal pressure on both sides and the boost can't enter atmosphere thru the breather and also the pressure in the front cover helps the seals keep the oil at front cover. Just sometimes when the car is not used for longer times use the pressure relief valve to release the pressure
Life happens and sometimes we take on too much. There’s the goals we want to reach, then life can be a gut punch. Never stop. Just keep going and doing and before ya realize, you’ll be done. Don’t forget it’s the joy of getting there, not being there, yet.
Oh wow, I remember this car when the first episodes were released and forgot it. 36 episodes now, I don't even know I can manage to stay up to date now lol
It's always a kick in the pants when you've built yourself the perfect solution then have to tear it all down to build a new perfect solution. But it looks like you got there in the end... right? There won't be any more problems at all. All smooth sailing with that engine!
New video and a Rob appearance! We love to see it. Also that shot with the lift going up was cool. But heyyy man why you gotta diss Craigslist like that... I got my Honda off of Craigslist and nothing has ever gone wrong with it ever
I never care about the wait when your videos are such high quality. You're one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Hope to see many more videos from you, no matter how long they take.
At the end of the day, it is a journey. And it’s quite comforting to see that some things won’t go as planned, taking up more time, but get done nonetheless. One day I t will be finished. And it will be your own, customized, one of a kind Firebird. Glad you’re still on it and haven’t thrown in the towel!
My unmet car friend, it has been A long road to here and I am excited to see all of the solutions you come up with. I am most excited to see and hear it run as well. I have not forgotten all of the armchair engine builders telling you that your work on this engine was in vain and it would never run right. I being a retired automotive machinist chimed in to "educate" these in the ways of the real world. The events that take place in a real world engine shop. I am very confident this will run just fine but I am excited to have it happen in real time. Cheers!! here is to a successful build.
Well it took a few days, but TH-cam finally recommended this video to me. Keep doing you, man, can't wait to see the first start and hopefully first drive!
I finally checked back in to see how things were going with the project, and I was delighted to see this video. I'm glad to see it coming together. I'm excited for the next video. I'm glad to see you got a lathe. every time I watched you make a spacer, I thought to myself, that's what you needed. I have a lathe and a mill and don't know how I would get by without one sometimes. don't be too hard on yourself. I totally understand how hard it can be to balance certain things in life. A guy can only do what he can do. I think naturally, there are times we hold ourselves to a higher standard than is realistic.
I spit out my water when you had the writing on the caliper when you were measuring the spacers. Oh my goodness the attention to detail you put into these videos is amazing. Keep up the amazing work!
You're one of the very few channels that gets the honour of having the bell icon clicked becasue I cannot be misssing an upload! Can't wait to see it running!
Always amazing videos. I started filming a bit of my own work after watching yours for years, and I can hardly imangine the hours you must spend pouring over video files, making a script, and editing it all together to tell a story. Great job!
I was just looking at the yt page today and was wondering where you were at and I'm so stoked to see that a video is out! Thank you for your effort and I hope you're doing alright
Loving your videos, and cant wait for next episode to be out but i will say that the engine looks really beautiful and with that supercharger it all ties together.
I just got into a nasty fight with my girlfriend of two years and I genuinely think the relationship is over. I was having a panic attack and I found this and lord knows how much it helped I love your car and your work tbh I hope the car never gets done so I can keep watching it change. Thank you
Holy Cow! It's coming together. Man I've been following this channel for a long time and I can see all the footwork you've done in preparation of this moment! Keep up the great work and you know I'll stay tuned>
I've been watching himg this channel since he started his journey with the sbc blaze! I've watched every single episode of this build and I can say right now I still get excited when I see a new episode
The video series you did last summer, was one of my favorite of all time. I would pay/donate money to see you do another one of those next summer. Or even better yet, this winter!!! A winter version would be very cool. Keep up the great work!
So excited to see the engine going in! Cool to think that all this happened before the Pinto adventure. Thanks for humorously sharing solutions to the unpredictable frustrations we all face.
I’m extremely excited for each one of your projects updates. This car in particular is literally exactly what I would want to build one day, once I can afford it. Same engine and everything. So keep up the good work I love it!!
You're certainly in my top five favorite channels to see a new upload from! Thanks for the great content and great work on this project so far. Can't wait to hear it running
I really like the build and I can remember the frustration of trying to get engines with headers into the engine bay with the transmission still in the car. I just wanted to remind you to check how much you moved the torque converter to mate with the fly wheel. There is a limit to how far you want to pull it out of the transmission depending on the tranny, otherwise, you want to add washers between the torque converter and flywheel. I can't really tell from the angle of the video how much it moved and I am not sure of the transmission either.
Great video. This one was a long time coming according to the dates on some of the clips. Can't wait to see that left front come off the ground on some shakey back road.

I almost commented someplace to check whether everything's alright 😅

Always great to see a new video! Work/life/project balance is a must

I believe the biggest difference is that this channel is made by mechanics\for mechanics, not showmen who never had to wash grease from their palms.
This 100%
I also appreciate how he does everything in his power to make sure it's done right; he doesn't just cobble a project together just to push out another video.
Thats how it was swapping the V6 out of my 86 c10 to a SBC then to a BBC. not as bad, but it was not as plug and play.
Celebrate with an ice cream cone on me. Thank You 😊
Literally stopped everything I was doing to watch this. What a glorious day to see another video from FDP
Just wanna say your channel is probably the single channel I enjoy the most. I enjoy your commentary and your detailed videos. Keep it up!
If you want a gasket that won't leak, Remflex header gaskets will do the trick. Well worth the minor extra cost.
0:45 - Now I know what to do next time I have packaging like that. XD
Man. I thought I was seeing things, but nope, its a new FD upload! Woooooo!
Thanks for the upload Mike

I let out a “woo!” when I saw this

ohhhh man For chevy, the 454 is my favorite engine. For Ford, 351 Cleveland. For Dodge, Any Hemi. So yeah, really glad to see this build. So jealous.
You're not dead, awesome.
New video and a Rob appearance! We love to see it. Also that shot with the lift going up was cool. But heyyy man why you gotta diss Craigslist like that... I got my Honda off of Craigslist and nothing has ever gone wrong with it ever
I'm starting to feel like an OG just for being here when the 454 build started!
(...he said while ignoring his own channel. 😅)
I'm super glad we're still here to get some good work done.
One of the best series on the plotform, dying for an update!
I never care about the wait when your videos are such high quality. You're one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Hope to see many more videos from you, no matter how long they take.
FDP don’t worry about timely updates. Enjoy your project and upload when you can. We’ll be here.

Not a full minute in and I’m laughing my ass off! That packaging is evil!
I spit out my water when you had the writing on the caliper when you were measuring the spacers. Oh my goodness the attention to detail you put into these videos is amazing. Keep up the amazing work!
Finally a new episode!!!! Been waiting for months!!! Thank you kind Sir for posting.. I really do enjoy watching your videos.
At last a new update!
He’s back. Hell yeah brother. 🤘🏻
Good to have you back!
I put a 454 in a 79 Firebird back in 2017 and it’s hilarious watching this because it is all the exact fitment issues me and my buddies ran into
You're one of the very few channels that gets the honour of having the bell icon clicked becasue I cannot be misssing an upload! Can't wait to see it running!
Always amazing videos. I started filming a bit of my own work after watching yours for years, and I can hardly imangine the hours you must spend pouring over video files, making a script, and editing it all together to tell a story. Great job!
Wish you posted more often. Good channel.
I have been biting my nails waiting for this.
Oh my goodness I’m so glad you’re alright. I was getting worried something happened to you. As long as you are okay that’s what matters to me
I was just looking at the yt page today and was wondering where you were at and I'm so stoked to see that a video is out! Thank you for your effort and I hope you're doing alright
NICE! a new video from FDP.
Cant wait to hear it fire up
Loving your videos, and cant wait for next episode to be out but i will say that the engine looks really beautiful and with that supercharger it all ties together.
Very satisfying to see a blister pack shown who is boss.
You keep making all these brackets, we're going to think you're secretly Nik Blackhurst from Project Binky. 😂
So glad... Lon from Ohio...
Can't wait for the next video
I've been waiting so long for this 😂
more videosssssssss much love
It certainly demonstrates just how much work shooting and editing really is when we're watching content today that was filmed almost three years ago!
I was thinking about you today when I was fishing and wondering when new episode will come up. Greetings from Poland :)
Always a great day when I see you upload! Can't wait to hear the engine fire up!
So happy to see you bought a lathe! it hurts watching you fabricate hole and spacers without one.
I just got into a nasty fight with my girlfriend of two years and I genuinely think the relationship is over. I was having a panic attack and I found this and lord knows how much it helped I love your car and your work tbh I hope the car never gets done so I can keep watching it change. Thank you
Welcome back! I've been waiting patiently and excitedly for the next episode in this series!
Rewatched some videos just yesterday, wondering when the next one is coming. Thanks for the upload! :)
Well this looks like a good time
Holy Cow! It's coming together. Man I've been following this channel for a long time and I can see all the footwork you've done in preparation of this moment! Keep up the great work and you know I'll stay tuned>
It's comeing together. Nice work!
I've been watching himg this channel since he started his journey with the sbc blaze! I've watched every single episode of this build and I can say right now I still get excited when I see a new episode

Dude, watching this is so enjoyable. What a build! Everythings so thought through! Crazy cool this project!
New episode!!!!

Just rewatched this series a day or 2 ago and got surprised with a new upload! This is my favorite channel, keep it up!
I show up on your channel page all the time checking for a new video. I'm so glad to see this one up! Thanks for making content!
I am so f-ing happy to see this upload. I was craving those fuzzy dices for a while!
I really like the build and I can remember the frustration of trying to get engines with headers into the engine bay with the transmission still in the car. THE KING RETURNS! So happy to see this!
You could use motor mount shims instead.
Looks great!
Great video. This one was a long time coming according to the dates on some of the clips. Can't wait to see that left front come off the ground on some shakey back road.
Keep up the good work 😊
One of the most enjoyable channels to watch, thank you for your awesome work.
Awesome progress. Top notch work. Birds gonna fly!
