  • In this video I show you how to use the 'DISKPART' utility built into Windows to easily make your external hard drives 'read-only'. Protect you static data or CHIA plot files from corruption, or even worse, accidental or malicious deletion.
    Easily done in minutes.

there should be no need to read only drives, since your harvester is the only machine connected to the drives. also with gpu compress plots, you can make plots in minutes, i'm currently even using all my defective drives and filling them with plots, if i find a bad plot on a bad section of the drive, I just rename that plot as .bad and don't delete it so I dont write to that area again and the harvester will ignore that file

I hear what you are saying but... being in the industry I am we are taught that hackers cannot be kept out of systems, they can only be slowed down and given obstacles. Hence you do everything possible to achieve that. It's not just something I thought up, both Digital Spaceport and CHIA Decentral suggested it in their recent video on the 2.0 release. On the subject of defective drives, I have one but it is completely gone with too many re-allocated sectors. A bad choice EBay purchase of a WD RED 6TB.

@@crypto-carlos I guess, but if a hacker is talented enough to get into your system, deleting read only drives would be childs play.
