Nice rack. I love my 42U Dell rack. I got mine for $100USD. I also had the same small cabinet rack and also sold it once I got the Dell.
I hear the debate all the time about spacing between appliances / servers. Seems the majority say it’s not needed. What’s your opinion?

Hi and thanks for your comment. I think if you are in a commercial setting where you can have a noisy roof fan tray, not worried about noise or costs of cooling, then no it doesn't matter about spacing. For a home environment where cooling and cost is important, I think spacing makes sense if you can accomodate it.

@@crypto-carlos Thanjs for sharing that. I’ll keep that in mind when I move my rack to the garage and redesign the layout.

It may have the looks but it now needs the function... drives, drives, drives... Fitted some cool led lighting yesterday. The white is especially helpful when working on it. Photos on the 'Community' tab of a few colour options.

@@crypto-carlos yeah. Drives aren't cheap, but at least you're ready for when you find a bargain. Good stuff.

Hello. You do crazy stuff, I like it! I have spent some time thinking about proof-of-space vs proof-of-storage vs proof-of-stake vs PoW. Did some calculus and I have come to conclusion that it is a way cheaper and a way less fault-tolerant to store and broadcast data. Inflationary model is bad for fault-tolerance imo. Right now 1 terabyte of space is

You are making an assumption that it is all about the money for me. As I have said to others, I enjoy building the systems to farm CHIA, failing, fixing and learning. Then showing others what I have done. What satisfaction do you get from buying Crypto? What do you learn from buying Crypto? Not much in my opinion. Perhaps it is different for different people? As I come from a technical background it might be why this method appeals to me. I want to build systems to earn passive income for me later in life. By doing this I am investing in hardware and systems, learning how to look after them, and one day hope to benefit. Everything in life is a gamble...

@@crypto-carlos I mined DOGE coins back in 2014, you remind me of that. Returned my compareably small investment more than 10 times and a bit faster than I thought it will take. It is kinda funny also because I still use that same GPU I mined with. As of a space sharing concept of Chia and ipfs is a bit different - much more inflationary from the economic perspective. A passive income it is not. I mean, the most passive I can think of is stacking sats. Anyway, good luck with that and wish you the best. I share your vids with my old army buddy that asked me about Chia. Hopefully he will learn something. Cheers! 🍻
