Hi mate, Unfortunately not. If you have a look at my later videos you will see that due to poor XCH price and increasing UK electricity costs, I have deactivated my CHIA farm. The other reason for this is that I want to wait and see what the new consensus algorithm and associated plot format look like and their hardware requirements. I made the decision to not make any further investment in time or hardware until these details are in play, especially with the information that suggests SSD technology may be their primary focus. Kudos to you for continuing to explore with CHIA. Not sure what CHIA content providers are still out there - but you may find something in the archives to help you on Digital Spaceport channel with regards high compression plots. Thanks for watching.

Well, Have been checking my Metamask wallet everyday and also looking in the app for any notifications regarding the $DOME airdrop but nothing. The message on the 'Welcome' screen still says that the list of Metamask wallet addresses was taken on midnight of the 11th September and that coins will be distributed within 72 hours. Watched a video with the app designer and coin partner Dave a.k.a. 'DITRH' and it was positive as if this venture was still going ahead. Also noticed that the messaging had changed since my video, where now it is the first 1000 addresses input into the app get 33,000,000 tokens and the rest get a portion of the remaining allocation from the airdrop. Think I will have to wait another 21 hours in the UK or so before the 72 hour is up. Will let you know what I find out. Carlos.

Hi, only shutting down my CHIA operation, which was my only operation to be fair. Should have diversified a lot more. Will still be making content of some sort or another and hope you will stick around to watch. Mainly investigating AI Compute options like Salad and VAST, also STORJ and possibly even a reverse back to spec mining initially. Plus anything else that surfaces and seems worth investigating. As for the TH-cam algorithm...I am very surprised it is still suggesting me to viewers. Whenever one of my videos starts to get traction, they pull it and the graph falls off a cliff. Every time, and it's a re-occurring theme that is past coincidence now. Really wish YT had some competitors out there to make them start to treat all content providers the same. Many thanks for watching mate.

Sad to hear channel dying. Not sure if crypto mining out of fashion for home users (I do not do it, I come here for the hard drives and servers). Plus here in UK would be insane to do this now with costs of elect. At least you are monitoring your costs and noticed making a loss - so no point in doing it, bad business. And having guts to cut it off and report here it excellent: don't throw good money after bad. Maybe start a new project for people to follow: setting up storj node or something similar.

The bigger channels are surviving in the crypto scene but they have ridiculous electricity costs of 7 - 8c per kw/h, so profit still available to them. Your channel can survive If you have sponsorship and can get those sponsors to give you a plethora of freebies for your own use and to offer as giveaways. Just look at Red Panda, Hobbyist Miner, Sebs Fintech channel for starters... they will always survive getting their hands on so much free hardware. Have got a few things to look at as potential new projects, it's whether anybody will be interested in watching videos about them. Will just have to see. Thanks for watching.

Yes, A lot of farmers are losing confidence in CHIA. I see a lot of it in the discord. Large PB farmers not wanting to replot again with the change to the plot format and consensus algorithm, the depleting pre-farm and the more frequent sales of it, the lousy XCH price etc. etc. Brian Freeman made the right choice getting out when he did. Definitely worth looking at other proof of space projects should they arise. Thanks as always for watching.

Lots of reasons really... I know a lot of crypto miners make open air CPU and Salad rigs like Red Psnda and Rabid, but I prefer keeping cabling tidy, being able to control heat dissipation. There are also fire safety concerns with dust if you are a residential miner. Plus, i might want to use these pc's for other things in the future so portability is a big factor. Thsnks for watching.

Havnt done anything with Chia for a year now. But im still wondering he, what if you keep to the old uncompressed plots, and just put more hdd in your farm. • @crypto-carlos

Yes, could definately add more compressed plots on drives but CNI need to give more information on their new plot fornats. Looks like they are going to focus more on compression for SSD'S than HDD's , which is dissapointing after you have invested so much. Bet Brian Frreman is glad he sold his massive HDD farm now. With the CHIA price as it is at the moment, and its uncertain future (dipping into the pre-farm seems to be occurring more frequent and it can only last so long), I certainly won't be investing anything for the foreseeable future. Going to look at diversifying into other long term areas like STORJ. Thanks for watching.

I can't believe they buried this announcement in the July Tech,Talk, without any indication it was going to be discussed. Surely, they realise it is something all farmers would think a priority for highlighting? Definitely think it did not get enough concentrated exposure. Hence my video.

Max Wittal (madmax) is way ahead of CNI with the plot formats he developed for his MMX blockchain. (And CNI actually paid Max to lecture on them to CNI development staff). They are compression resistant and similar to what you've outlined here for CNI with two formats for HDD and SSD. People are plotting for MMX testnet and (eventually) mainnet using Max's formats right now. From an interview with Dr Nick (who now is employed by CNI) I understand that CNI didn't like something about Max's approach and is going a somewhat different direction although it sure seems more similar than different to me. The compression resistant direction is totally understandable to me and all of us who fell down the compression rabbit hole have only ourselves to blame. I don't think GPU's are totally out of the picture for plotting - they must be for farming. Max's two formats still requires GPUs to plot and he claims it's just not worth using CPUs.. Perhaps this is where CNI differs from Max. I wonder if CNI doesn't develop a GPU based plotter for their two new formats, then someone else will.. Developing for SSDs makes sense to me.. One day HDDs will no longer be manufactured. That may be 10 years from now but I believe it will happen. Putting compression out of business (looking at you NOSSD) can't happen soon enough. Replotting 200 TB shouldn't be a big deal.. I just replotted over 300 tb from Chia to the new MMX formats myself after the plot filter halving forced my hand. K32 C10 takes my dual socket plotter 8 minutes a plot using a 3060ti and an A4000. It is slower yes.

None of us know what to do mate. You have to make the right decision for yourself at the moment. With the new plot format coming, I am sticking with what I have at C7. Who knows what this new format will be, what drives we will need, whether compression or GPU's will come into it? Not investing in any further hardware, drives or GPU at present until we know more. With the price so low at the moment the only people making profit will be those at high compression levels, but we know from what Gene has said that the plot filter change may jave affected them. I have yet to hear from the farmers who were telling me to switch to C15 or C30 if they had issues. All i can say is that I hope we all continue to support Chia through these bad times, and maybe, just maybe the good times will come again. Thanks for watching.

Hi, and thanks for a great comment. Going to be quite a long reply though, so bear with me... I don't think you are necessarily talking just about XCH. It is the same mining any crypto, especially in the UK with our high electricity costs. From a personal perspective, it is not just about 'instant' profit for me. Yes. it would be correct to say that buying XCH would be a better option at present, but that attracts unwanted scrutiny. Also, I like to look at the bigger picture. I don't know If you have seen Gene Hoffman's interview with Brian Freeman recently, but if you did, you would have recognised that here is a CEO who knows his product inside out, more knowledgeable and confident than Elon Musk with any of his presentations that I have witnessed. Listening to the history and plans for the product were nothing more than awe inspiring. I certainly want to make sure that I have a growing infrastructure for this coin, so that in the event of something good happening, I am there to reap the benefits. I certainly don't want to be one of those people who didn't invest in Bitcoin when it was $2. And I say Bitcoin purposely, because the XCH blockchain has the potential to offer much more, and it only can do so with the support of the community of Nodes and Farmers. On another note, buying XCH doesn't teach you anything. I may be in my fifties but I still yearn for knowledge and technical challenges, and looking after my mini data centre fulfils that. It's a great feeling when you let nothing beat you. We are all built differently, and this is just the way I work. I haven't spent anywhere near ten grand on my infrastructure. Every bit is EBay…unloved e-waste put to good use, and in a sustainable and (as efficient as possible) manner. Thanks for the offer of the GTX1050's, but my next video will explain the experiments that I have been conducting recently and what I have in place now. Many thanks for watching.

Firstly, I am not against any of these technologies, apart from the fact they move away from decentralization. In fact I may explore several of the up and coming versions of each as 'extensions' to my main farm. I am not one to put all my eggs in one basket, so there will always be a larger part of my farm based on what CHIA software provides. My main focus at the moment is to complete my current farm with the addition of a further six drives, some alterations to hardware and operating systems. Once that is completed then I can explore these other technologies as the extensions I mentioned above, which will require additional investment that I do not currently have. Thanks for watching.

@@crypto-carlos it's not a windows issue. I had it on Linux. It's a bladebit compressed GPU farm issue. There is a workaround to it where you let a script monitor your log file and when the GRResult occurs you restart the harvester. And when the Devs can't fix a game breaking issue like that in a timely manner, I have no problem giving 3% of my rewards to max for his superb software.
