There must have been an echo... 2012 2012, cool cool... Seriously though, this is one of the better clips on the 796 I've seen on tube...get mine soon as I pass my test!
Monster 796 was released April 2010 so you can only buy 2011 and up models unless you were planning on a hypermotard. The new designed 696 has been in production since 2008. The ABS although very cool will barely be used because it is unnatural for riders to smash on the front brakes and depend on a computer (I'm sure this works perfect) it's just counter intuitive.
Out the door price you're looking at $11k. MSRP is $10.3k but invoice is in the low $9k range, so that + tax + fees + destination will bring you close to $10.5-$11k OTD depending on your location and bargaining.
Are you planning on purchasing it brand new? Keep in mind the costs that go along should anything happen to the bike. The 696 is easy going town bike, 796 highway - hills - street, 1100 is the Beast but that definitely is overkill for your first haha. 796 is the perfect in between. Once again if you've got the finances set up then go for it. You won't regret it ;)
The Scotts damper works very well.. BUT honestly, I don't believe the Monsters truly suffer from "wobbles/shimmies" like the online forums suggest... if you have smooth good throttle control and a delicate grip (soft!!) of the bars, you will never suffer from any ill-effects (see Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist for handling tips)... Dampers are big improvements on any bike, but not a *need* on the Monster more than they are on other bikes.
22, no tickets or accidents ever on record, 2+ years w/ M1 endorsement, already owned multiple bikes. About $1800/yr with uninsured coverage, theft, etc on top of comprehensive. Scotts damper was in the $550 range.
First off, I really liked your video! I have been after one of these ever since I got my endorsement. One quick question: What make is the tail chop? I don't believe you mentioned the specs for it. I love the way it cleans up the tail section. Thanks for the info!
The 1100 Seat height 810mm (31.9in). 795 Seat height 770mm (30.3in). I know that you can specify your monster, so I guess you can raise them but I am not 100% sure. -Norway
Awesome video! what are your both personal modifications again? i can't find them both. how much does the pilon seat cost and each personal modification you did cost?
hey bro nice video! im buying a 2012 796 next week, and im not sure what products i should put on it. i mean i know that the monster is amazing in stock, but i was wondering if u would recommend any products i should put on my monster. Thanks
Hey man, thanks for the overview of your monster! Quick question, how well does the Scotts damper work on the bike? Read many articles of Ducati owners complaining of a, wobble or shimmy, but don't know the extent of the problem...
I am in the bay area as well.... perhaps your quote was for the 1100? MSRP=$10.3k 8.5% tax=$875 destination=$750 DMV fees=$2-300ish Should not cost you more than $12.5 at full msrp
At first I thought the camera man was a goofball, but after further review I'm convinced he's clowning the owner of the bike. He's either being really condescending, or has a serious man-crush going on. Or maybe he's just a young kid in awe of the Ducati....Nice bike btw!
Yeah, that's my mistake. Next time :D. I actually wasn't planning on riding. Just turning it on and giving it revving it a bit :) ...It's the camera man's bike lol
Sounds like something is out of sync, the sounds is sorta like a rock crusher, or the starter bendix is stuck, or a exhaust leak, maybe its just because of the building eco's, thats it more then likly.. Nice and clean bike though !
lol way better then the 696... its a little bit better then the 696. 7 more hp.. lol, single sided swing arm is a little better. thats about it. oh and $1000
There must have been an echo... 2012 2012, cool cool... Seriously though, this is one of the better clips on the 796 I've seen on tube...get mine soon as I pass my test!
It is an Evotech tail tidy. There are only a few manufacturers of monster tail kits and IMO this one is the nicest.
Cameraman makes my day... Turn the front light on : Oh Wawwww that's awesome ! 😂

All monsters have abs standard now. I went to Hattar initially but purchased from a dealer in the south bay.
Like the review. Raw and much more realistic than the staged biased reviews.
You should review more bikes mate. Cheers.

I am 6.2 and I have the Ducati monster 1100 evo. Fits just fine.
very good intro to the bike, love it and will consider getting the same exact one next year :)
His money, his bike, his camera, his video....i'm just the friend who loves motorcycles lol :D

Thanks for the info. I hope to get my 796 in January.
The monster's looks/ergos + the streetfighter's engine would be awesome.
how on earth is this a 2014. anything to get some views i guess.

Nice! It really cleans up the tail section. One more question, if you don't mind me asking. How much did you pay for the stock 796?
Awesome video! what are your both personal modifications again? i can't find them both. how much does the pilon seat cost and each personal modification you did cost?

How much did you have to pay Kermit the frog to be your camera man?
Beautiful bike! Where did you get your frame sliders?
nice review man!
That's the stock seat with the seat cowl removed. A lot of stock parts on this bike look custom.

thats good to here, ok last questions, Is the monster 1100 evo taller than the 796 and can you adjust the handlebars/ raise them?
I am in the bay area as well.... perhaps your quote was for the 1100?
MSRP=$10.3k
8.5% tax=$875
destination=$750
DMV fees=$2-300ish
Should not cost you more than $12.5 at full msrp
I really like that seat, what brand is it?
Was this video shot in Santa Clara? I used to live in this apartment complex I think! On Santa Clara St?
ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wow
always wear a helmet dude, even if its 1meter forward...safety first ALWAYS
Does this bike have a custom seat? Also, do these bikes have heated handle bars and / or seats? or both?
At first I thought the camera man was a goofball, but after further review I'm convinced he's clowning the owner of the bike. He's either being really condescending, or has a serious man-crush going on. Or maybe he's just a young kid in awe of the Ducati....Nice bike btw!
I want the guy reviewing on my team.
love this video
may I know what is the outdoor price of this monster 796?
Yeah, that's my mistake. Next time :D. I actually wasn't planning on riding. Just turning it on and giving it revving it a bit :) ...It's the camera man's bike lol
Oh wow....it's Mr Rogers!
Oooh! Wooooow!
2014 versions, does it's come with water cooling system?
Air cooled. Only the new m1200 is watercooled for 2014.
Cameraman is the owner :))...touché
Holy cow wow batman that's a neat light!
HEy Badfrogs5, nice video. how tall are you?
how does this bike stack up against MV Agusta brutale 800?
That is a watercooled triple whereas this is an aircooled 2-valve twin. The MV will ride much more like a supersport.
And highbeams (turns on highbeams)Oh WOW ! Yeah never Seen a motorcycle and Not even a Car with highbeams! Unbelieveabel!
Lol you almost snapped that fucking key in half trying to get the parking lights on.
is that a st. alfred hat?
I'm 6'2 will this bike be normal for me
hey dude, it's out of focus. don't blur the bike. :)
No. It's a Oakland Athletics Hat Baseball Hat :D
tengo una 2013 arguien me puede desir como la prendo si se me pierde la llave
porfavol
Rider in vid is 5'5" or 5'6" ish? Owner is 5'9"+ and flat foots bike with knees bent.
Lol I actually couldn't get my fingers in that damn spot. I should have noted that accessing the key is a BITCH on this bike :D
Get a new cameraman, that guy ruins your video.
Sounds like something is out of sync, the sounds is sorta like a rock crusher, or the starter bendix is stuck, or a exhaust leak, maybe its just because of the building eco's, thats it more then likly.. Nice and clean bike though !
In San Leandro. Across the Bay :)
The use of "oh wow" is too damn high
he reminds me of michael scott from the office...
Beautiful
oh ok wow
Why wait brotha? Finance the bad boy so you can ride NOW.
Alright thanks, I want to get this bike, I'm like 6'3"
oh wow...oh wow...oh wow...oh wow. thats like his only reaction
How tall are you?
No changes for 2014? YES THERE IS. DO NOT WRITE 2014 WHEN IT IS A 2012! Americans......
DAMN EYE-TALIANS and their lack of even incremental updates year after year!!!!11
MemoryLaneCinema what's different from 2012 to 2014 ?
Trex racing. I blacked out the writing on them though.
Oh wow!
Im my country this bike costs twice from USA.
Hey, it is the same bike as 696 but has 8 more Hp:)
I'm pretty sure it's a bigger frame so it's much better for tall riders.
nice motor. in my country it's very expansive. we can not bought it. we're vietnamese.
**accessing the ignition key slot :D

Oh Waaw !
"OH WOOOW ok" lol wtf

lol way better then the 696... its a little bit better then the 696.
7 more hp.. lol, single sided swing arm is a little better. thats about it. oh and $1000
