Thanks for helping me discover the dongar product as I have been searching for a way to power a small low power usb device only when my mach-e is 'engine on' as part of my home automation, and this will do the trick so much nicer than trying to tap into a fuse. Just wondering now if the output voltage on the USB ports is USB level 5v or car battery 12v... Hoping that it drops the voltage to USB voltage as it's supplied with USB cabling, and supplying 12v to a device that is made with a USB cable could be a way to let the 'magic smoke' out of the box!
