Symon Oliveira Well. How. Don't get it wrong I looked up internet and advices from a art teacher but. I still don't know how to start(btw not my art teacher he was just some guy I saw by luck
I've on my character designs and foreshortening for so long now that my skills at backgrounds and perspectives seem to be a bit rusty. Which is kind of discouraging, because my foreshortening skills with my character art haven't improved too much either. I just can't translate it from my brain to the page yet. Anybody have any advice for that?
To everyone in these comments, remember me and you’ll see that I will one day be the author of a manga and movie called *raised killer* See you guys at the top!
I want to be a mangaka too, I'm sixteen years old and my parents never let me. That's why I want to go to Japan after university and attend a two-year manga course and I'm working on it now. I'm making an effort. I also have a talent in anime drawing, so I'm talented in painting in general and I want to improve it. My financial situation is bad, there is no family support, I will have to wait a couple of years, but I will go anyway. I will never give up and I will always chase after my dream goal. I just wanted to writeI also want to get information about universities (for foreign students) but I can't reach them. is there anyone who can help. thank you very much
This made me nervous amd scared at the same time... Imma want to become a mangaka in Japan someday and an animator as well... Whoosh! But, I'll still push on and become one! FIGHT!
13:00 twilight had a manga adaption. so did novels by james patterson. edit: 16:40 *cough wheeze* kingdom hearts.... they never wanna stay dead. A good laugh and very informative. This is motivating me to turn my dream stories, at times very inspired by anime/manga, and a variety of movies, to be REAL!
You don't really need an expensive tool. There's a lot of cheap out there that can be on average. You just gotta make your work as expensive as it looks.
Please continue these videos they help a lot! And are very entertaining! I would like to try to start a web manga (since a while really) I know I still have to have a lot of improvement in art in general, but my worst problem is PANELING! I dont know how to start. It always appears weird.. And I surely dont want to go with basic premade panels of clipstudiopaint.... that looks even more stiff. Im Screentone-assistant here in Germany for a Published german Mangaka since about 4 years. So I was lucky enough to get some printing and screentoning knowledge but when i try something for myself I cannot succeed to Squeeze the scenes in a panel. I always fail again, and that throws me back very far because Im such a failure- People around me suggest to do mangas as practice, cuz of the amount of drawings done. A much better practice than illustration. Anyhow. I fail so badly with starting panels... please help!
Ok but what do I type in to read manga on twitter? (it only comes up with manga news from my country *sad face*) Very informative video, thank you so much.
PunPun Use Google translate app to translate whatever you want to read into Japanese, for example manga = 漫画, then copy and paste that into Google / Twitter / wherever.
Kinda wish you mentioned about French, Belgium and German comics since they have so many manga influence comics and make/read more then the US. since you're taking submissions, feel free to read my comic "Cross Star" on webtoons /tapas
I just learn that Twitter is popular in japan thats why i seen many Japanese account, i though pixiv is best for posting of manga, so im planing upload mine after i watch this 😐 pivix is for illustration, yep i seen by mysel lot of illustrator.
Do you perchance know if you could directly get your manga to be published by a publishing company outside of Japan? (As in instead of first getting published in Japan then translated into other languages)
Please, if you’re going to learn about the culture, don’t do it just because you like anime, or manga. I hate when people do that. There’s so much to Japan aside from anime, manga, or Japanese video games. Japan is to be taken seriously, just because they make something you like doesn’t mean, you have to get into the culture. Please. Just. Don’t.
ernesto _ The drawing tablets and software are really expensive when the whole team has to use it..It could be veryyy expensive in total compared to paper and ink
_Mikey is like a Anime Character , always wearing the same clothes_
Mikey has some nice clothes.
its a samue or maybe jinbei (japanese common working clothes)
This is so helpfull for the ones who wants to become a mangaka. Now I just need to learn drawing.
Apple with Sword Start with perspective, then go for anatomy.

画風について、日本が保守的というのは昔は分からなかったのですが、いざ自分で、リアル寄りの絵を中心に描いてみると、すごく感じています。
thank you for this, very informative
Great video!!
Shokugeki no souma & Dungeon Meshi reference 7:38
Wow, zero dislike. First time I see that
2:30 That's pretty much what happened with ONE and his One Punch Man and his Mob Psycho 100 manga. Which were just poorly drawn pages
Can i use cheap tools on making manga? I can’t buy tools that japanese manga artists uses. I can’t find it in any art store here in my country.
you can make manga with anything you like! Some famous mangaka used nothing but pencil and paper :)

Hey, it’s been two years since you commented this. How’s it going?
Now we have patreon and also TH-cam monetization to support
I have started making a shoujo manga for the first time and I don't live in Japan, but I want to publish it later on so there any way for that?
Muchas gracias por los subtítulos en español
But for an independent author it would be hard to draw everything on your own when your work blows up
I loved all of this.
Ok but what do I type in to read manga on twitter? (it only comes up with manga news from my country *sad face*)
Very informative video, thank you so much.
Good question! We’ll ask Mikey!
PunPun Use Google translate app to translate whatever you want to read into Japanese, for example manga = 漫画, then copy and paste that into Google / Twitter / wherever.
PunPun Wow, you're here again XD?
I also do manga digitally using smart phone.

Not _that_ kind of doujinshi, silly.
Kinda wish you mentioned about French, Belgium and German comics since they have so many manga influence comics and make/read more then the US.
since you're taking submissions, feel free to read my comic "Cross Star" on webtoons /tapas
Sketchflix part 2 then?
Definitely keeping it in mind for a future interview episode :)
NO!! I don’t care about those! Geez, no one cares about other countries. Just Japan. Nothing else, go away if you want something else.
Best channel

DanMeshi!!!!!!!
Do you perchance know if you could directly get your manga to be published by a publishing company outside of Japan?
(As in instead of first getting published in Japan then translated into other languages)
What kind of draft mangas went viral and then got published?
Mikey looks like a Monk
Do you need to have a solid understanding of japanese culture to make a long lasting and potentially famous manga?
Please, if you’re going to learn about the culture, don’t do it just because you like anime, or manga. I hate when people do that. There’s so much to Japan aside from anime, manga, or Japanese video games.
Japan is to be taken seriously, just because they make something you like doesn’t mean, you have to get into the culture. Please. Just. Don’t.
5:58 y is digital more expensive? I always thought analog costs more cus of paper, pens, ink etc.
ernesto _ The drawing tablets and software are really expensive when the whole team has to use it..It could be veryyy expensive in total compared to paper and ink
It's more expensive at first, but cheaper in the long run
Probably the only channel that I know of to get more likes than dislikes.
this world is great, I hope to achieve success with my stories xd
Mikey is cool :)
Characters don't come back to live in manga that often. Dragonball, anybody?
