For 40 years we’ve just duct taped a 2’ piece of 1.5” PVC to a 4’ piece of rebar and they worked great in the surf. But this is fancy..think I’ll make some up. Really appreciate your channel Keith. Thanks a lot! 👍👍👌

Or instead of duct tape some 3 inch hose clamps

You can also purchase a threaded nob from Lowes with the same thread pattern. It will allow you to hand tighten the holder to the stake without using pliers or a wrench.

Another goodun Keith. This is a purty good rod holder. Small enough to tote along with your rods and not be too burdensome. And the hammer could be used to whack them big uns when you drag em up.
Real good idea, even with your adult supervision of Cranky !
God bless you and your family. And I hope ya'll have a blessed day.

Made a couple of these the other day. Taking the hanger apart does work but found it quicker to loosen it and slide it on the pvc pipe and just tighten it down after threading the bolt in the hole you drilled out. Both ways work it just saved me a little bit of time. I appreciate the video, wouldn’t have built them without watching it.

I bought two light weight fence posts and a 2' length of 1 1/2" PVC. Bend the fence posts to your desired angle, drill holes in the PVC and bolt them to the posts. 2' of PVC cut in half makes 2 holders. I sharpened the bottom of the posts to facilitate putting them in the ground. They cost about $8 each. Work great.

That is one good rod holder I like the steel bar and tighten the for holder to that rod by the bolt. That way you can bit on the steek rod then slide the rod holder over the steel bar and tighten the bolt to the steel bar locking the rod holder. And to remove losen the bolt slide the rod holder off and bang on the steel rod and took it back and forth and remove seperated from the pvc part of the rod holder. Great idea thanks for sharing.

@james hook crazy as this may sound, you don't need anything but a square cut piece of 1 1/2 pvc pipe about 2.5 feet long. Place pvc in the sand at the water line. When the wave comes in, suck in on the pipe and it will sink in the wet sand

I don't remember where, but I recall a rod holder that was a straight length of PVC with an angle cut on one end (if you want to be fancy, you can flare the other end). To set it in the sand at the beach, you press the angled end into the sand and then suck on the other end to draw it down to make it solid.
