Thank you for the very sincere reply I truly appreciate it! Take care!
found the noise and it was my exhaust! thanks!
Glad it helped!
thank you! I hear that exact same noise and I'm panicking until I saw this video.
You're welcome! Don’t worry, there are a lot of shields underneath and most of the time they rust and get loose.
@@Motorcarnutdo you have to replace it or will it be fine?
Most likely you’ll be fine but shields are there for a reason and should be replaced when you can
Thank you for this video, gives me some idea where to look and let me worry less ;-)
Happy to help! Thanks for the comment.
Thanks, much appreciated. Just having an idea that it's bot going to kill me is great. My Hyundai had this metal can at war sound when starting up this morning and when I took it to the mechanic after work he pretty much: 🤷
No problem!
You saved me. I have been accusing the quality of the transmission, before I tried to check the noise of the rust pipes.
Glad it helped!
That resembles the sound I hear. (the heat shield) It sounds like a vibration rattle when I accelerate and after about 5-10 minutes it quiets down.
Yep, just do what the video says and you’ll find it!
My 2000 Mitsubishi Montero makes that rattling noise, it is annoying, thanks .🙏🏼
Sure, no problem!
Thanks a lot man, this was the exact problem
Sure, no problem! Glad to help
Thank you
You're welcome
Thanks
My 2017 Chevy Sonic makes a rattling noise from underneath at random when it starts. Like if I hear it, turn the car off then back on, I don’t hear it, and it doesn’t always make that sound from a cold start.
Try my techniques in the video with a rubber mallet tapping the exhaust etc
I’m at a loss, I CANNOT figure out what is making my Hyundai Sonata sound like metal cans in war. I can’t afford to get it to a shop for a good few months, it’s sounded like death for weeks.
Post a video on the channel and i'll give a listen
I have the same car did u ever find out your problem ? So I could have an idea of what it is
Could be your Catalytic converter.. bits break off and are just rattling around..
I’m having the same issue right now!!!
Same car same issue 😭🤦🏿♂️
Your kick ass buddy keeps going broski
Thank you Bro! Appreciated!
I wish you live in DMV area you can fix my car
This is a good idea thx
No problem!
I have the same issue. Do you think I will have problem if I do road trip Washington DC to all the way Texas ? Without changing it ?
Have to see whats making the noise first. If it's just a sheild etc. then yes no problem.
My 2017 Camry doing the rattle sounds specially in hot days when i put it in gear and when i take of then it goes away.and if i stop and press on gas it does it but then after a bit it wont do it no more
Check all the shields around the exhaust, tap with a rubber mallet lightly, you'll find it.
@@Motorcarnut I'm taking it in to Goodyear for oil change and tire rotation I'm gonna ask them to check
Yes, can’t hurt
BROOOO THANK YOU 🙏🏽!!!
You got it! Thanks for the feedback!
My car does that exact noise , what did you do to fix it? And is it a problem where it needs a fix or it’ll be alright, also do you thing it has anything to do with the belts? I’m jus asking these questions before I take it to a shop trying not to get cheated🙂
If it’s the heat shields then you don’t have to do anything as it would do anything to the engine just annoying. A belt won’t give a rattle noise more like screeching.
I have a 2014 Altima & mine rattles from start up, then when I give it the gas, even when I idle it rattles. When I'm cruising, the noise seems 2 calm down. When I stop & idle, it's a little rough
@This.IsCisco you could have a more serious problem. Like bad timing chain or actuator etc. the rattling in this video is superficial
@@MotorcarnutFound out its a flex pipe issue with some rattling from the heat sheild. It is drivable but gotta take 2 a muffler shop 2 have a piece of mind
@This.IsCisco Ha, that can drives you nuts. Thanks for the update date!
Hello, my Honda civic 2006 jerks and bangs in to gears and reverse and it will be moving slowly even if I press the pedal to the last but sometimes everything works perfect. Kindly assist me please
First thing is to make sure transmission fluid is correct level and red not black or brown in color. Those era transmissions were known to mechanically fail so could be the internal parts are failing
Pump out about a quart of ATF,and put some Lucas Stop Slip into the transmission! This will help you.
I would hear the noise intermittently, especially when I would give it gas, especially when going up a hill, etc.. that a bunch.. where are you located, I wish I could bring my car to you so you can fix it..???
No problem and thanks for the comment! Where in NY
I have rattling noise when its in drive, but stopped. Like at a stoplight. It will rattle like crazy its something underneath. When i accelerate it goes away, and in park it doesn't rattle. Only when in gear and with the break applied. Any thoughts?
Do what I said in the video to find the rattle
what about a new screeching sound that comes and goes while driving, breaking or accelerating
Could be something with the brakes or suspension. Possibly even a drive belt, pulley or accessory on the engine
i just bought a secondhand 2022 camaro with 28k miles and it just started hearing a marbles/rattling noise in it. any ideas what I could do?
Do what i explain in the video especially near the catalytic converter.
I have some weird rattling noise after installing an H-Pipe. Checked all the bolts and everything is aline. Im at a lost. I'm not sure what it is. Can somebody help me?
Has to be something you did then. Recheck your work.
What if you don’t have a check engine light but you hear rattling/ marble sounds?
Rattling noise doesn’t necessarily mean that a check engine light will come on. Can be anything like I said in the video bang things underneath with a rubber mallet especially near the catalytic converter area.
My car has this weird rattling sound from the driver’s side . Sometimes when I start the car up . Now even more while I’m driving . The mechanic said it was the transmission belt/chain . Is that even a possibility ?
What vehicle do you have???
@@Motorcarnuti have the same noise when driving i have a nissan rogue 2018 n i just fixed my drain hose cause my car was wet on the passenger floor.
Don’t know can you make a video and I’ll give a listen?
aren't those shields there to make the exhaust heat up quicker, to meet emission standards?
No, Heat shields are designed to protect other car parts from the extreme heat of the exhaust
What if your acceleration starts being affected what does that mean?
Could be you have a misfire that’s causing the hesitation and rattling noise at the same time.
@@Motorcarnut I was praying for broken flex pipe or something 😅
@@Motorcarnut cat was bad. I just went ahead and straight pipped it
Thanks for the update, yep clogged cat will do it.
My car does this
Follow the video to find the noise
mine only does it in drive or reverse? you cant hear it in park or neu
Could be an engine mount
Did you ever figure it out?
I’m Hopin this is my problem
Good luck!
My car noise it's when acceleration on the road, not in park , just when running and stepping on the pedal
Do what I said in the video, you’ll find it.
What was your cause Im getting the same noise
Can figure out why mine makes a rattling noise
Best is to check with a rubber mallet when vehicle is cold. Tap everywhere in the area of the sound, you'll find it.
I got into a car accident and I rear ended someone by accident in the process I cracked my radiator and my frame was evenly pushed back slightly. After my friend replaced the radiator I took it back home on the highway safely no unusual noises but my parking malfunction brake was on and airbag. Didn’t effect anything but the next day coming from work my gearbox malfunction light came on and when I accelerated I heard a grinding noise. The next morning I did a gearbox reset from TH-cam video after test driving it the gearbox light didn’t come on but I could still feel loss of power and certain moments where I accelerated my rpm’s went up but I stayed at the same speed.
The vehicle may be applying the parking brake when it’s not supposed to. They clearing all codes with a scan tool not just by disconnecting the battery, if the parking brake code comes back you have to see if any wires got damaged in the crash.
My Altima sound like cans rattling in the rear
Could be the muffler shield, exhaust, suspension etc.
This is exactly what I’m hearing 😭😭 and then my catalytic converter failed
That will do it for sure.
