    Finally they’re actually making the Model S Standard with imperial regulation-style tail lights. That was the one thing I was most hoping they would change, and not only did they do that, they made a better design for it than the way the old imperial tail lights used to be.

    Tesla finally brings rear amber turn signals to the US. It's about time.

      Model X and Y have already had it, but the brake light is in the same position with the turn signal indicators in the pre-refreshed Model X.

  • @realMysta

    They likely won't have any benefits until Tesla reviews the new adaptive headlight rules and validates they're certified with NHTSA. But once that happens it'll be HUGE.

      Except that the cutooff pattern is already a massive leap over the crappy LEDs they had before. Even the Xenon HIDs are WAY better than the pre-refresh LEDs.

      @@sorka95032 indeed but as far as old lights, new lights, and new lights with adaptive enabled. The new lights are like 10% vs their 100% improvement potential.

    • @jdjdr2
      @jdjdr2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Word is they use completely different connectors and not backwards compatible. However I’m certain someone will find a way to retrofit the taillights as the electrical signals to operate the new ones should not drastically different than the prior ones. Headlight have no chance unless Tesla offers it as an upgrade.

    • @poloboy
      @poloboy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Whaddup. I was on the same boat. However Alpharex released their Luxx version which is the same design with animations (that can be turned off). For us Plaid users, since the power consumption is different than the older versions, they're working on adding plug-n-play resistors to avoid blowing the E-fuse. They just got released so it will take about a month for them to fix all kinks. I bought mine in pre-order and will build the resistors myself

    • @ak2pacalypse
      @ak2pacalypse 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @poloboy sweet I'll look into that. Do you know if there is a retrofit available for the rear window glass bar break light? The newer plaids have the smooth light while the older ones have the individual led ones

    • @theadventureinsider
      @theadventureinsider 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be able to except that the older Model S even with the facelift don’t have fog lights in the US. But it is possible it might already have the hardware for it. You have to get an adapter for the turn signal/brake lights to avoid multiplexing signals.

    • @theadventureinsider
      @theadventureinsider 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lights are already super bright even in older models, but the light dispersion/balance is much better than it appears on camera, since obviously the camera you have to tinker a lot with the focus to get it right. Although this video makes it look like everything is too bright to see, it’s actually very well-balanced in reality.
