i love that for the hardest fight in the fromsoft discography, we get summons for it but they are: ansbach, who for some fucking reason abandoned his bow, which is the BEST BOW IN THE GAME, in favor of staying at a comfortable distance from the boss (where a bow would have been reaaaaaally useful), watching intently as you weather every attack or die trying, and then only occasionally getting in to actually attack the boss, dealing a smidgeon of bleed damage and thiollier... if you are so lucky that you can get him to even show up in the boss room, you will note that his perfumes do nearly no damage, and the poison DOT is not even close to worth the health boost that bosses get from summoning we really should get better at picking allies... but they're my boys god damnit!
Consort Radahn and the OST is what made me realize that Elden Ring could go so unbelievably hard as a musical. The Radahn bits aren't sung by Radahn but a choir of soldiers

I like to think that in the second phase they finally realize that it’s time to say goodbye to their beloved general, and so they send Jerren to help, while they gather around the walls to sing out his marching anthem.

I cut the original music and was playing this while climbing up the Peak to fight Bayle. Seeing those Dragons fight each other with Radahn's theme was a spectacle I will probably never witness again in a Game. By the Gods!
the diffrence between the original phase 2 and the consort vesion is that the phase 2 sounds monsterous while the consort sounds strong and prideful which makes sense since your somewhat fighting a young radahn
@@brando3424 the reason i say starcourges is diffrent is because the vocals and music sounds less clear making it sounds like a bellowing monster whos lost their sense of self and needs to be put down where as the promised consort has much more clear voices and music to it signaling a return to "form", ill admit during the middle of the starscourge theme it does have that lament in it upon a second listening so i get what you mean
Starscourge was already dead he just survived long enough to fight and die a honorable death. The consort version is a radahn that was taken away that honour mindcontrolled and turned into puppet by a dead corpse

That transition is INCREDIBLE. Radahn is my favorite boss in the base game, and the duel against him is my favorite in the DLC (until Miquella cuts it short and ruins it by turning the fight into framerate-killing flashbanging stupid BS). An absolute legend, a true warrior.
Honestly if was just radahn trying to activate the gate of divinity and we fighting him again and he actual speak this time without miquella I would be the best fight in the game

Oh, promised consort..." -Malenia Then the scarlet flower bloomed...
Honestly the whisper part gave me the :O moment. Until then I thought Miquella just had put his sister into the eternal slumber with his St. Trina powers. But she was part of the plan. Crazy that such a small scene from the OG Story Trailer became lore.
It's a lot less epic when u remember Malenia passed out and needed her biggest simp Finlay to carry her unconscious body back to the haligtree where she remained knocked out until we stepped in. Meanwhile Radahn tanked it and carried on like the beast of a man he is
True, but it was at least cool to meet the Drake who gave him his battle scars and a lot of other cool dragon lore like learning that Dragon Communion was made by Placidusax himself to hunt down and destroy Drakes while giving hunters a taste of draconic power, and it was fun to see an example of an ancient dragon in their communion form(Florissax), although it does make me wonder why it is specified that Lansseax took a human form when she communed with people, still, we definitely got way more Dragon lore than I expected to get from this DLC
I wish we could fight his phase 1 and an alternative phase 2 in which he frees himself from Miquella, revives Leonard and teleports us back to Caelid to finish what he tried in his rotten form.

The final boss is really fun. Also 2nd phase isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Just focus on the swings so you know where the extra light beams will hit.

At first RADAHN was just there the general himself and the boss could’ve been the best in the base game if they didn’t nerf him. But now we face him suddenly in the fight to defeat miquella and we see RADAHN come out of nowhere to become miquella’s promised consort. It makes sense especially with that plot thing with malenia and RADAHN in their confrontation in the shattering. And it just fits so much especially for a final boss for how strong he really is in his prime with much more of a boss. I hate his light attacks and the hair is gay, but he is the definition of a final boss. This is my fight
I assume you mean the hair is annoying, which it is. I get the thematic but I dislike when I cannot see his arms due to Miquellas hair covering his whole back.

I'm unsure how I feel. Godwyn doesn't make anymore sense since he isn't even dead technically. Radahn is the only demigod to come close to Miquellas ideal other than Godwyn who again is half dead. I think allowing the Tarnished to be Miquellas consort would have been better but also an awful idea since Miquella threw away his compassion with St. Trina ages ago. Essentially Miquella ruined a lot of things because the boy just had to have it his way. Radahn is as much of a shell now as he was in Caelid, Mohg was violated, and Malenia and Caelid are a bed of rot. Haligtree too is doomed.
