A quick walk-around of my current build status, along with some initial driving impressions of the supercharger. Dynos and a quick video of some pulls are included!
Astonishing work, looks amazing :) wish I could do the same on mine without runnning into trouble with my country regulations :( I love the wing! Where did you get it? Enjoy the little rocket!
Thanks! The wing is from Zebulon. They're in Colorado and are incredibly knowledgeable. They provide aero for a ton of motorsport teams from GT cars to open wheelers. It's a far more efficient air foil than your typical options but priced accordingly.
Nice build!! I had a 15 Golf R and It was fun. I think this car with its low weight 2881 & rwd will be a blast. Plus with those AP monsters and tier 1 kit on the suspension with the SC. Sheeeeet bieotch, its GO TIME!! You mentioned sanctioned events, SCCA or ? I seen OR SCCA but u mentioned LA canyon carving. Willow Springs (if not sold to developers) maybe Buttonwillow time attack? Also sounded like upgraded stage 2 clutch and flywheel? I hated the single mass chatter but loved how fast the engine spun up, something like 15-20 pounds of savings makes a huge diff.
I'm doing mostly SCCA stuff up here right now but hoping to get down to some CA events when my little girl gets a bit older and it's easier to get out of the house for a weekend. Maybe Gridlife at Laguna later this year if I can get an oil cooler figured out. And yeah, have the CSG spec OS giken in there. Definitely chattery but it reminds me of the Ducati I had haha.
Mines a weekend car with odd track day work. Minor mods only; wheels, tyres (re71rs), brake pads (Pagid) and cat back (AWE). BUT crucially it wears a S/C that was fitted by Harrop (Australia). Its a super neat install. It takes whats effectively a great tool and launches it to another level. Overtaking is blistering, response is immediate with plenty of punch from just 4000rpm. You simply no longer need to visit the redline to make things happen. You can exploit the chassis balance with your right foot at any time. I masked up the raised s/c lettering and power sanded the letters a few thou back to bright alloy. :)
Back when these first hit the market, I collected dyno numbers from 40 different cars, the average WHP was 214whp, so 192whp is definitely pretty low compared to the average, definitely a low reading dyno. You could probably add about 10% correction to your numbers and be a bit more accurate, though, as you mention, it's really the percent gain that matters, as every dyno reads different.
@trippinbillies41 you mean 355hp not whp correct? Because 355whp stands for at the wheels which would be like 400+ish hp I was curious i don't even own a BRZ first or second gen but wanted to see what your car made compared to the Harrop supercharger kit for my 2005 mini Cooper r53s I have a lot more done but stock bottom end but i made 359hp so 355hp vs 359 is pretty close although i have more done im only 1.6 liter's of fury lol I feel like if i got a GR86 I'd have to add a power adder down the road.🎉

@@NicholasZak thank you! Just got the supercharger done and still working on a custom oil cooler design that will work with the splitter brackets. I'm hoping to get back out on track by fall this year. Several back to back autocross runs in 100 degree heat didn't phase it though. 220degree oil, 195 water, and IAT hovered around 135.
Genuinely have no idea but I plan on messing around a little bit with launch control and should be able to take some video to get a rough idea. I also plan to put a 3.9 final drive in it which should help that.
Yeah hopefully next week. First autocross video after the supercharger being made tomorrow, then later in the week I'll go out for a drive and give some more impressions and pulls.
I had to take off the Jackson racing cooler because it wouldn't fit anymore. After I get the splitter on I'll start working on a custom solution for it.

Hi there, nice build👍Just curious, can you still put front strut bar after installing the supercharger?Does it interfere?
@@maskedguyplays4814 I don't have a strut bar and haven't tried so I can't answer that unfortunately.
Rematch with the supercharged 1st gen?

Saw your pics on reddit and this randomly pulls up in the algorithm lol. Sick car!

no supercharger whine just means its got a good and efficient core.
Aussie here. Loving the representation in the States. Very nice ride sir.
What a coincidence. I was just watching your Gen 1 SC'd vs Gen 2 drag race and noticed you uploaded
I think we're going to redo it now. Not because anyone has any doubt about the outcome, but for the good of science 😂
So what's the performance in regards to 0-62 mph after turbocharging the engine ?

just wondering why is the normal fuel running so poorly, 14% gain is low for a SC on normal gas?
@@denn15m8 I think your math is off. 272hp on 91 compared to 192 stock is a 41% gain. This is all as measured on CSG's dyno.
