I have to admit, that is a great amount of power produced from the HKS turbocharged GR86.^^ Also, I really enjoyed the video so much, especially when the car is doing the dyno pulls.^^
The power seems to fall off after 6k rpm- is that the turbo, or the tuning doing that? Mostly I've noticed the turbo kits normally pull hard to 7k+ rpm before they roll over.
Was this before Larry Chen’s GR86 was turbocharged with this kit? Saw his video a while back. Converted from supercharged (HKS also) to this kit for time attack use.
Question: did you modify anything to prevent low oil pressure on high-g right hand turns? I'm just curious because if I was going to tune mine, I'd want to make sure I'm not running dry at all
Yes, I thought it was quite cool also. I will do a detailed video on this car in a few month's time when the owner completes all the upgrades and cover that.
Check out K24austin if you want to see a crazy boosted FA24 w/ stock internals. He's pushing 600whp recently. He was at 530whp for a long time and it seems to be pretty reliable with him being pretty hard on it.
Not great for a turbo kit at that cost honestly. Not bad and the quality is nice but the Harrop Super Charger on ethanol can make over 400whp with a much more simple setup.

@@EddEllisonTh You're welcome, buddy.^^
I clenched up when he said 450 torque on the second pull. Then I realized that’s probably newton meters
❤❤❤ 375 whp
i just picked up a new GR86, daily driving it. How reliable is a Tuning like this? Dont want to blow the engine to early
It’s more or less you maintaining it to scale with how hard you’re gonna drive it.
400 seems reliable. there are 2 cars that blew up at 600wheel hp. 1 of them over revved because the clutch slipped, the other one broke a rod

I think so.
Knock knock.
Who's knock?
I'm rod! Connecting rod.
That's crazy do that with stock internals and no one support mods like some coolers for the engine.
Wont that airfilter be sucking in hot engine bay air?

Is that an interior lighting kit or something custom? Looks really good, I would love to know more :D

Is it reliable to be pushed on track day sir?
Larry Chen installed this kit on his car for just that purpose. Track day/time attack.
What octane fuel are you guys running and how many psi did it run to get to 375?
E20, 375 whp on 0.8 boost.
Do they have a website or social media or someway of contacting them for a tune?
yes, you can contact them here facebook.com/garage86brz
Where do people get thoe hks sode vynal stickers from? Been looking for them for ages
Impressive, but I love the n/a response
That's why a supercharger is a great addition to this car.

Thanks, will do, sounds epic.
Why is the torque so much more than the hp on this turbo kit? It reminds me of the b58s rn
It's in Nm
Torque and HP are in different units. Also depends on the scaling of the chart
Is the torque readings accurate?
In Newton-meters, yes.
Is it stock stroker kit?
Yes, engine is all untouched internally.
What is that whining sound from?
It's from the dyno itself - the roller that the rear wheels spin.
Theese seats look hella nice and hella expensive
Wouldn't disagree with that assessment 😅
@@EddEllisonTh do you know what brand and model the seats are?
It's the new design Recaro seat

Stock clutch?
Not sure on this car, but HKS recommends to upgrade the clutch when you install their Turbo or Supercharger kits to theirs (obviously)…
Uniclutch sport
470tq at the crank?
At the wheels, but those are newton meters, not foot pounds.
Yes 470 Nm
Need more details about those seats and ambient lighting
Hope they dropped the oil pan and checked for RTV in the uptake before slapping a turbo on this!
