That was really well researched and presented. I think Marie Harel can be called the inventor of Camembert, but more in the way that Webster is the "inventor" of the English language. It was defined, codified, and passed down by Harel, so she has invented what we know has Camembert.
this is much appreciated...ty. Camembert rocks! It's great seeing you getting more relaxed with your presentation as the channel progresses. It feels more and more like I'm hearing a mate chat in the pub.
I recently found your channel and I love it. I enjoy specific details of history and you are engaging and informative. Thank you for this and I wish you nothing but success.
oooo...there's truth in every myth - only problem is winkling it out, although you can infer a lot of sociological information from many myths; either about the source, or the re-teller. As an aside...I'd love to see a chat about the relationship (or not) between various 'runny' cheeses like Camembert, Stinking Bishop, etc. What you reckon?
@@cheesehistory luvvit...I foresee some pretty cool reaction shots. Personally, I'll never forget the ghastly smell of Stinking Bishop - but I'll never forget the amazing layered taste either.
You've outdone yourself! This was absolutely amazing. I have a slight cheese addiction and I love finding out about the history of my favourite cheeses. When my mother was pregnant with me she gorged on camembert of all things. I guess I acquired the taste early... 😅

Thank you so much 😊
So what do you think? Is the origin story of Camembert truth or myth?
I think it is likely more myth that fact. I am glad they have gained some control with PDO

I'm studying for the ACS CCP test. Most of the study material is very technical and dry. I come to this channel to revive my brain.
😎🖖✌👍👌🤓
Too many insanely difficult french words than actual facts. Bad video.😡👎
