I cant decide between 2018 CX5 2.0 Manual or this 1.4 TSI Ateca. What car is faster and drives better? I live in the Netherlands, so all straight roads. I like the exterior of the CX5, it looks much "newer" then the Ateca. The Ateca on the other hand has a nicer interior with Android Auto.
How can it be that the CX-5 is 187mm longer but has less place inside? - going for the Ateca anyways

This comparison is too simplistic. Basic CX5 petrol engines are sluggish compared to TSI. The reason is that TSI's have lots of torque at low revs

So Ateca is roomier, way cheaper and has better engines... sorry mazda.
You should drive TSI and NA and you will never choose NA.. Besides define "less reliable" - if you mean after 15 years of use and 200 000km mileage - may be...
