    The silent stare and holding your head high-such simple yet powerful tools for reclaiming your self-respect. It’s amazing how much strength we can project without saying a single word. Thank you for this empowering reminder! 💪

    I've separated myself from the disrespect and negativity and not even realizing it. I thought that I was isolating myself, but now I realize that it gives me time to think, plan, and focus on what I need to do for myself. You have a new sub today.

    Stop explaining your choices’ hit me hard. It’s so true that we often feel the need to justify ourselves, but we don’t owe anyone an explanation for living authentically. This video is such a confidence booster!

    Silence when someone tries to play games is a classic move. They don’t like it, it triggers them, bc they’re faced with their own bitter words.. They don’t like it & many can’t handle it.

    Use silence to stay calm, maintain emotional control, and make disrespectful people reflect on their behavior.
    Stop explaining yourself and distance from those who don't respect you to protect your worth and create space for healthier relationships.

    Dealing with disrespect through Stoic philosophy means maintaining your composure and focusing on what you can control-your response, not their behavior. Don’t let their words or actions disturb your peace; view them as opportunities to practice patience and resilience. Respond calmly or not at all, and let your dignity shine through. Respect yourself enough to rise above the negativity, your character speaks louder than their disrespect.

    What about when the disrespect is from someone close to us, like a friend or family member?

    • @StoicPowerWithCallum
      @StoicPowerWithCallum  หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Thank you for your thoughtful question! Navigating disrespect from loved ones can be tough. I believe it's important to address it directly yet kindly. What do you think is the best way to initiate that conversation?

    • @bradymom10
      @bradymom10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Sadly, I didn't see or listen to this until after I had reacted, with a family member who is always critical of me and who says things to me that I would never dream of saying to him. The last time this happened I didn't react, I calmly told him that I was hurt by what he had said to me and why, and his reply was a "sorry, but..." which to me implies "not sorry at all."
      The last time it happened I kind of flew off the handle, and it was in response to a "not to lecture you, but..." followed by, of course, a lecture. This time I got angry and expressed my anger, and his response was to tell me to leave him alone. So I have respected his wish but I don't know what to do with the situation anymore.

    • @JK-px2im
      @JK-px2im หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I'm also dealing with a similar situation. I have completely separated myself from the individual. Zero interaction. My peace on mind is more important than trying to convince another person to treat me differently. Eliminate all distractions and focus of your inner peace. I truly wish you well. You are stronger that this moment. Jason, Alabama.

      @@bradymom10hello, I have been in situations like this with family members too. I would suggest you pick and actually use the tools mentioned (and generously given to us) in this presentation.
      Firstly, distance. Secondly, don’t shrink, hold your shoulders and head up high and say to yourself that’s their opinion. Now, who is the real me here.
      Best wishes to you ❤

      When you change your responses to everyone, you lift your own value and build self respect. These rules will sift out the unhealthy people and better yet you learn self respect, you are your own superstar in your life and deserve peace, calm, and power which comes from stopping the people pleasing because you are really all that you have to control. More positive changes flow into your life when you seek self mastery 🎉

    Sorry to disagree with the first 1:47 of your video. People of the caliber to disrespect others whatever the motivation might be usually dont have the courage too look at you eye to eye. They exercise their verbal abusive diarrhea while looking away and or staring into space. But please do continue talking I'll make myself listen until the end.
