10 years ago my ex-husband (German) manipulated two of our three children against me and threw me out on the street, one of my three children stayed with me, she served as motivation for me, I studied a career as a nursing assistant (in German ), today I feel fulfilled, I miss my two children, the pain of rejection does not go away, life goes on, but I have the satisfaction that my daughter who stayed with me is already finishing her university degree and I managed to move forward in my life without More help than my own effort considering that I live in Germany and it was like being born again.

These toxic people don't cross our path by chance; through them, we learn to set personal boundaries, to say "No," to value ourselves, and to become wiser and stronger. Recently, I went through such a lesson, I learned a lot, and I removed those people from my life. Even a friend with whom I had been close for 35 years turned out to be a vampire not only of time but also of energy; she burdened me with her problems and went to sleep peacefully, while I ended up with a migraine. I removed her from my life, and not just her, but also other acquaintances, whiners, pessimists, etc. These people drag us down, but we want to rise, don't we?

This is so true. I had a situation when I was trying to get away from very toxic ex. He was aggressive psyco and I was young and alone. We had to wait till our apartment will be sold, so we will go separate ways. He always threatened me. I understand now that he was coward and was afraid that I might sell without him since the property was on my name only, so he kept pressuring me with threats. That when my happiness was his misery, and my misery was his happiness, I saw it in his eyes. It was terrifying to be with this psycho under the same roof constantly. He won't let me leave for a walk, control freak.

It seems to me that leaving or rather running away from difficulties with other people may not be the most prudent thing to do. Of course, if there were no downside to parting ways with a toxic person(s) then, by all means make haste in doing so. But in the practical world of collaboration to achieve a goal or task these words of wisdom fall short. Other measures must be taken. And if those measures fall short of satisfactory results, reevaluate the value of remaining with the work group or company. It's a bitter process that seldom is psychologically helpful in the long run. Often ending in separation from the company. Few people can withstand it.

What if it's the person closest to them. Knows them better than they know themself.? They can respond not overwhelming react to all others but this person can push every trigger she has. Especially in crowds. . They even keep praying for help to stop reacting to this person. And no they can't just "get away" from this person. sometimes in Real life there isn't a way to get away. There is a way to try to respond not react. Thanks to this video Idk why that person tries to make everyone rush and react instead of patience and not rush. Life isn't clean it's messy. Some have support systems to get away from situations. Others learn to adapt and I want to help them learn to respond with strength and love together. Prayers for everyone in the world! We are all a mess! If you're saying in your head you aren't a mess yourself you're in denial. That's why we need love understanding and helping where we are weak. To be strong! Please we are all sinners help each other be better not worse! Division is a curse! We are all equally created by the same Master it's how we choose to live that decides our life the choices we make. Let's help each other make better choices. It's hard. I'm shit! I'm a sinner! I hurt others and others hurt me! We need to learn to get past that pattern help each other up and heal each other! That's a superpower I want. Not democracy or religion or cults. Everything healthy to eat and everyone following commandments helping each other succeed. That's why we consider that impossible and a heaven to look forward to bc we can't unite and achieve that it's one over the other sister brother father mother. It's sick. I pray for us all

I am an identical twin. Entering adulthood I felt so much back and forth with trying to appease my sister.
I felt like since we were twins that we were supposed to be there for each other. But I would confide in her with certain things and ask her to keep between us. She always ended up blabbing it and I stopped sharing and confiding in her. The it was her blaming me for everything and I was constantly trying to work things out feeling completely exhausted. I felt like nothing I did was good enough and anything good that happened she did not want to celebrate it…if it was bad it was shallow sympathy and later used as a dagger towards me. I didn’t realize until probably our late 20’s she was a pestimistic and I was optimistic.
She would constantly tell me I was living in a fantasy land. It made me question myself, it made me hide my love for creating, painting and even completely stop. It was the hardest thing to choose to keep her out of my life because my hopes and dreams of having a good close relationship just wasn’t going to happen because I could never measure up to her standards and she was always going to find something wrong that I did that offended her…everything I did offended her.. when I got engaged, she said my ring looked to big and goddy. When I got married, she made an excuse not to be there…anything that was good or important to me, she would knock me down. We haven’t spoken but one time in 7 years. I’m no longer exhausted trying to work things out and keep the peace but my hopes and dreams of having a sister to celebrate life with have been completely crushed.
I will say I have gotten back into my art 3 years ago and I have enjoyed it and become more confident in it. I have reconnected with childhood friends that have no artistic ability that encourage me and love my creativity….something I haven’t had in years…not since school days. So it has been made aware that I do have a unique ability that I burried, I was led to believe and questioned myself about things I was told by my sister that were false. I am painting huge wall murals and doing things I would have never dreamed if it wasn’t for the encouragement of my husband and a couple friends. All I can say don’t ever let anyone rob you of your happiness or your talents.
Even identical twins are night and day different.

It suggests strategies like recognizing toxic behavior, setting clear boundaries, and using the "gray rock method" to remain emotionally detached. Cognitive reframing and surrounding oneself with supportive, virtuous individuals are also recommended. Prioritizing self-care and understanding that others' negativity often reflects their issues, not yours, is crucial. Ultimately, the stoic approach advocates for inner peace through emotional regulation, resilience, and compassion, without getting entangled in others' negativity.

    • @StarlightNkyra
      @StarlightNkyra 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@stoickingdom2024 Thank you! It means a lot to me. Philosophy in school would greatly influence those factors in a positive manner. Most importantly, it plants the seeds for future growth in every area of mental development.
It would empower students to face the world and balance pleasure with challenge, to think actively about what's in front of them, helping them decipher any type of motive, and will eventually allow them to grow from what's around them.
High school students would be gaining more compared to High English language arts. It is worth taking into account what would be lost. Generally, high school level language arts involves hyper-specific review skills that will benefit but a few students going into the field. This is more true now, with tools that help students identify adverbs, help or indirectly teach students how to write a persuasive work (we do that on social media often,) or figure out which form of "their" to use. High English arts can even harm students' skills in some ways, such as reinforcing long-winded, five plus paragraph long, hard to read essays when the social world now needs people to write easy, concise works that get their message across. (I am a victim of this, as you may be able to tell.)
There are many life changing benefits to having philosophy taught in high school, and we wouldn't be sacrificing vital parts of the curriculum by doing so.

Excactly; I had trouble identifying this.
Especially it being my identical twin sister. Because I kept trying so hard and nothing I could do was right so I would self blame and for years I would lay awake trying to figure out how to fix it or make it better. I found out later that she was a pessimist and I was an optimistic. So that explained why I constantly got shot down and told I lived in a fantasy land. Yes a lot of the stress has gone since I cut ties but honestly I had hoped for a close relationship, to hang out and go for lunch or go hiking together but I realized it would never be that way.

A lot of this advice is really good - I've heard this on a channel run by a Narcassistic Psychopath ( diagnosed ) , who's giving up all the " traps and manipulations , used by those in the NPD Spectrum . Well worth listening to , to save getting ensnared ones self . Some narcassists , are not easy to read , but they can be and successfully , much to their annoyances .

I meet 3 kinds of people. Those who are worth associating with, those who are harmless but not interesting enough to advance, and those who will be ignored. I give everyone a chance to place themselves into one of the 3 categories. I rarely spend time on what others might think about me.

My own personal experience with learning to disengage from the “toxic relationship “, I refused to engage in the conversation that makes reaction, instead of reacting to the facts.
I did disengaged from an emotional vampire.
I knew it would hurt my mental health, but the manipulator was getting my own personal peace.
I was only getting the shitty end of the stick.
Had to learn to drop the stick and walk away from the whole situation that was poisoning my emotional state.
I also had to learn to let go and relearn how to handle myself.
Learn to react instead of being reactionary.
It took me a long time to get to this point and I feel much better off than I did before I allowed myself to say and do things that protect my energy.

Today I am isolated, misunderstood and socially outcast. I was brought up to absorb negative lies about my self, and just carry on. Later in life I was the perfect infantry soldier, and I was not even trying to be one. I was seeking out high-stress environments and friends that projected their garbage on me, because I thought that was normal.
